Devya was growing and becoming more skilled at hunting as the days passed by. Currently he lay in the grasses watching a hear of gazelle. He wanted to practice stalking and tracking. He flicked his ear as he sat in the cool morning air watching the wary prey animals. For now he was no threat to them, but soon he would be. He was determined.
Devya had practiced hard and he was very good at catching mice, rabbits and he could event catch birds. One day he would be a predator to be reckoned with.
Devya rose to his feet as the gazelle seem to have had their fill of grass in the current area and began to move on, gathering calves and pushing forward. Devya bet they would head for water.
He started tracking the group a few days back and and would soon realize maybe it wasn't the best idea.

Devya shook his fur out gently. He moved after the gazelle following behind them at a safe distance. He was proud at the information the pride would have of the range this herd that he followed. He was become quite the predator and he couldn't wait to go for his training. He knew he'd be back in no time and he would be the best.

Devya followed the gazelle constantly, moving when they moved, stopping when they stopped and must importantly hunting while the slept and a good distance away. At the watering hole and to graze in the tall grasses. He watched the young frolic happily, watchful eyes always on them. He was growing curious as to whether he could catch on just yet. He knew he would try soon. All in all it was turning into a longer trip than he planned and the sun was getting lower in the sky. Devya was becoming rather tired, so he was grateful when the gazelle decided to rest in the grasses and Devya decided that then would be a good time to rest.
He moved over to a large bush with a space big enough for him to lie in and settle down into the spot making himself comfortable. He lay there and watched the gazelle comfortable and relaxed.

Devya woke with a start. He looked around to see it was dark, it had been nearly night when he stopped, and the gazelle he'd been tracking were gone. He crawled out from beneath the bush where he slept. Devya frowned wondering how he'd fallen asleep. Now he looked around and realized he had no idea where he was. He could no longer see the volcano in the distance near his pride.
He frowned this was the second time he'd been lost. The last time a leopard had gotten him home, but this time he was sure he could do it himself. He sniffed around trying to get his scent but all the smells were too mixed. He could only find patches of his scent.
Devya sighed in frustration and started walking, trying to find his way home. Unfortunately for him he was headed in the wrong direction. He was headed deeper into the rogue lands and had only a small idea how dangerous that could be.
Devya sighed hoping he could make it closer to his home and his family before morning. 'I'll be home soon,' he thought.

Devya could only go on for a short time before he was simply to tired to go any further. He knew he needed to stop. He decided he she sleep and he could try to get home again in the morning.
Devya started looking around for a place to sleep and nothing seemed to have good enough cover. He saw a few tree, but he was not one for climbing and none of them had hollowed bottom, where the roots made a den.
He found what looked like a log but he simply did not fit and it was also inhabited by a snake. If he'd not been so tired, Devya would have made the snake his dinner.
Devya settled for some tall grasses and hoped not to be someone meal in the morning.
