Ice field The temperature of the stadium suddenly dropped several degrees (just enough so breath was visual and winter-wear is needed) as the stadium floor shifted for the upcoming battle. The floor was made of extremely slick ice, which would make manuverablity, even simply standing, difficult. Crystal-like pillars reached skyward from the frozen water, reflecting the florescent lights to all sides of the battle-field. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ICE type attacks

 The moment Kayla stepped into the stadium, the sudden chill of the field slammed against her body. "Gawd! Ice Field. Why can't I get something sunny and nice." Kayla grumbled as she went to her usual position before a battle as she waits for the other trainer.
They had met before and battled before so it wasn't new for either of them on what the other could do.
Grinch was unhappy with the field choice but toughed it out as most pokemon would as he attempted to go on the field without slipping, which he did not succeed in doing.
"Well lets get this show on the road and then we can go to the Pokemon Center for warm drinks."

Renekai walked carefully in and checked her trainer's box for dangerous rugs. When she saw that it had been removed, she nodded grimly and took out a pokeball. "Okay, Evelyn... Too bad this battle isn't Bell's; she'd like it here." As Evelyn appeared from the red beam of light, Renekai pulled on a sweater and a coat. Her breath misted out before her.
"Ted." Evelyn pouted, stepping precariously out onto the field. Her thick fur and layer of fat protected her from the cold, but it was still slippery. "Teddiiii!" she cried as her paw slipped and she landed on her but. "Ursa." Evelyn dug her claws in and managed to stand on all fours.
"That's the spirit!" Renekai called.

"Alright! It looks like everyone is here and set...or as set as we can be." Kayla said to herself.
Looking over at the other side of the stadium, she noticed Rene giving Evelyn some encourgaement but for Grinch, he had changed alot since his evolution. He is no longer the happy-go-lucky fellow but a more serious one. So the encouragement is really unnecessary.
"Okay! Let's start off strong with Focus Blast!"
Grinch tossed his bone club into the air as if it was a baton and started the energy orb with both claws. The orb started to grow quickly and before they even knew it, Grinch released the powerful attack at Evelyn, while catching his boneclub right before he was forced to slide backwards by the powerful attack.

Evelyn ducked her head and allowed the attack to sweep her across the field. She hit an ice tower with a thud and lay motionless as chunks of ice rained down.
"Ev? You okay?" Renekai said anxiously. "C'mon girl, give him a really cold Ice Punch!"
Shaking her head to dispel the dizziness, Evelyn picked up a large hunk of ice. She made a fist and tossed the chunk into the air. With careful precision, Evelyn punched the ice cube and sent it flying at Grinch.

"Crap!" Kayla exclaimed as the little teddiursa made a direct hit and caused Grinch to be frozen on spot. The ice was in no hurry to melt being that they were on a ice field.
Great. Kayla thought. Well, when they get a chance, payback will be hell for them.

"Ice Punch!" Renekai called, punching the air with her own fist. She grinned. Now they could get somewhere!
Evelyn slipped over to Grinch until she bumped right into his frozen body. Pointedly not looking into his eyes, Evelyn lifted her paw. As she curled her clawed, the paw started to glow bright blue. Evelyn gritted her teeth and swung forward, sliding even more on the ice.
