I knew nobody would warn the others in here yet.  ZUN confirmed on his BLOG that the newest installment of Touhou: Touhou 12 - Undefined and Fantastic Object (th12: UFO - Pun intended, according to screen shots.) is to be released somewhere during summer 2009. Also, the first trial version is to be released 8 march... That's 11 days from now, less than two weeks from this moment. that is all.

  LOLWUT!?
We Maidens were discussing the Touhou 12 possibilities the day before yesterday! And we were hearing a LOT about OCEAN this and SPACE that.
It seems like ZUN has taken a leap into the world of 3D backgrounds, but it's still yet to be seen if it goes up there with R-Type Final in that area. And from what I can see in the screenshots, he's also adding more bullet shapes, shot types, and playable characters. Because I THINK I see Alice.
It has officially amazed me at what I can miss by skipping a day of internet access because the library is closed.

It seems like ZUN has taken a leap into the world of 3D backgrounds...
EoSD had 3D backgrounds. It's not so obvious when you don't have the retexture patch, though. I just really hope that the new patterns are like PCB's. I can't stand the SA patterns; almost all of them require you to memorize pathways through them. I really enjoyed EoSD for the random patterns that I could just groove to without constantly trying to memorize the positions of relevant bullets.

Hum... Alice isn't in any of the screenshots either... The only real ones are in ZUN's blog... And when ou said "We Maidens" did you mean, "Maidens of the Kaleidoscope"? Because I'm there, and I can quote someone reliable from there: Drake Just to make it clear,

Ha, actually, a lot of people are kind of disappointed because even though Sanae's playable this time Sakuya isn't. In fact, Sakuya's been appearing less lately. Although personally I don't really care for Sakuya... I like Youmu waaay more. And Yuyuko. And also Utsuho.
Sanae playable is nice in my opinion, though. A bit late, though, since Mountain of Faith was two games ago... that girl really is a slacker, isn't she?! (well okay she's an extra midboss in SA i'll give you that but still)

To compensate sanae only appearing two games later, Zun'll make Rin playable only two games later too!
Of course that means that UFO's 5th boss is going to appear two games later too...
Unless...

Well I've only made it to Sanae three times, so I saw blue skirt and thought 'Alice'.
And yes, I was referring to MotK.
I'm not a very accomplished Touhou player, as can be gathered from my introduction.

If you've got an Eirin/Kaguya team going, then might I suggest a Keine/Mokou duo? :3 Also Suwako as a "u" in it, and Utsuho's name was spelled kinda funky. The Reimu Aya pair looked a little weird because I'm more used to seeing a Reimu Yukari duo, but it works.
