User Image"Now, call me if you need anything, alright? If you realize you need something that you forgot, or need a movie, or...."

"Mother. I know." The girl offered a small smile as she cut her mother off, knowing that she was just worrying. "Will call if need to. Promise." She readjusted her bag as she got out of the car, waving to her mother before heading up to the building. Her hand fished through her pockets, producing the slip of paper that had the apartment number on it.

She had to admit; she was a bit nervous. She'd never spent the night over at someone's house, and that paired with her recent growth spurt didn't mix well. She was sure she must look absolutely horrible; the right side of her hair had become even more defiant, sticking up at all sorts of angles despite her attempts to smooth them down.

She made her way into the building, feeling a bit out of place. She glanced around, not quite sure where to go from here.

"Adhara, calm down. You're going to stress yourself out, and that's not going to be good for the baby," Noah commented, ever the concerned parent. Honestly, you would think that he was the one carrying the baby! Adhara sent him a harsh glare and his eyes widened a bit; was she overreacting just a little bit maybe...?

"I'm not due for another ten weeks, Noah; stress isn't going to make me miscarriage and no other bad things are going to happen anyway at this point. Besides, I'm allowed to be freaking out right now!!" Adhara ranted, flailing in her father's direction before she went back to pacing and biting at her fingernails, before shifting to her cuticles. Noah's eyes widened even further and he jumped up from his seat on the couch, where he'd been watching some random movie with his son, and rested a hand on Adhara's hands, pulling them away from her mouth.

"Uh-hum, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you want to be doing that," he said, laughing a bit nervously. If she activated her pheromones, especially when there was another person whom she was attracted to in the house, they might have a big problem on their hands. She just growled at him softly and yanked both her hands away, storming up the stairs, leaving her father dazed and confused.

The pre-teen ran her fingers through her hair one more time, as though trying to fluff it up, staring into the full-length mirror on the inside of the bathroom door. Gosh, she was so unused to this! She was never, never this self-conscious before. Actually, she wasn't completely sure that she'd ever really been self-conscious before, except maybe when people stared at her enlarged stomach. She sighed worried and wrapped her arms around her rapidly growing stomach, shaking her head a bit. It had only been a week and a half, and already she looked like she was at the start of her second term! Stupid Adriel. Stupid techs. Stupid J'HER!!

She shook her head at her reflection and finally headed downstairs. She was rather under-dressed -it was all she could be anymore- in brown leggings and a light blue, empire-waisted maternity dress. She shivered at the thought of the word- she didn't want to be a mommy yet!! But she didn't really have much choice now, did she? She wasn't just going to- going to kill it. That would be an atrocious thing to do!! Reena and Niita hugged around her stomach, as though protecting the not-even-life within it, and she smiled weakly. This was going to be the hardest year in her short life...

"If you're that worried, you can go downstairs and wait for her," Noah commented when Adhara appeared again, only to start pacing back and forth once more. She looked up for a moment, before smiling a bit and nodding; good idea, Noah. She hop-skipped to the door, pulling it open and walking down the hall, trying not to run or skip or anything that would put stress on the rest of her body. Her stomach growled angrily at not having food for the past half hour or so, but she shook her head; she would feed herself in a second.

She caught sight of the girl with the golden wing as soon as the elevator door opened, and she smiled brightly. "'Zuba!" she said, waving a bit in her direction as she approached the other, giving her a quick hug before pulling back, realizing that she was probably overdoing it a little bit; as usual. "It's so good to see you again; it's also good to see that you made it here in one piece," she said, chuckling slightly. Niita outstretched himself lazily to nudge against 'Zuba's cheek, looking for affections, though he didn't really seem to be trying that hard. Both of them seemed rather tired at the moment, it seemed. Stupid parasite-baby, eating up so much energy.

User Image'Zuba smiled lightly, returning the hug. "'S good to see you, too, Adhi." she said, her hand reaching up to gently pet Niita. "Course here in one piece." She let out a small chuckle, looking back at Adhara. Something was...different. The other girl seemed bigger. She opened her mouth to ask, then stopped herself. A question like that probably wasn't very polite.

Overjoyed for attention which he had been deprived, Niita nuzzled into 'Zuba's hand happily, whereas Reena barely roused from being wrapped around Adhi's stomach, seemingly content to stay right there. Adhara chuckled a bit at the overeager tentacle's actions, before finally noticing the fact that 'Zuba wasn't the same child that she'd been last time they'd seen each other. She smiled and laughed brightly, amused by the fact that she hadn't noticed the moment that the girl had walked in.

"'Zuba, you got bigger!" she commented, laughing a bit and giving the girl an even brighter smile. "You still look really pretty," she half-teased, before offering the other her hand leading her to the elevator. "So, how have you been lately?" she asked, pressing the button for the fourth floor and bouncing a bit, her stomach growling at her once again. "What's it like to see things from such a higher perspective?" she added, giggling a bit. It was always strange to wake up so much taller than when you'd went to bed.

User Image'Zuba smiled, letting out a light giggle at the Niita. "Nice to see you, too." she said, nodding once to him before looking back up to Adhara, smiling back at her and nodding. Her face then turned a pale shade of pink at the compliment, her head shaking. She wasn't pretty! She just sighed, letting the issue go as she followed her to the elevator.

"Been alright, s'pose. Learning how to cook. Mother and siblings say it tastes good." It was easy to tell by her tone that she didn't believe them. Even if she had tried it herself. She then chuckled. "'S...odd. Trouble walking at first." Those first few minutes had been spent trying to gain a center of balance, not used to such tall proportions.

"Uww, really?" Adhara replied, eyes brightening as the two waited for the elevator to reach their floor. She would have probably been bouncing from her heels to her toes if it weren't for the fact that she could practically feel her energy draining from doing little more than just breathing- this pregnancy thing was driving her nuts.

"What have you learned how to cook?" she inquired curiously. "'Cause my dad knows how to cook pretty well; if you want, he would pro'lly be willing to teach you how to make some random fancy stuff, like raviolis." She nodded a few times; surprisingly, cooking with her father was actually fun, given he knew what he was doing and made foods with really fancy names.

She giggled at the thought of that trouble walking that did, in fact, come with most growth spurts. "I'm lucky, I guess. I didn't get very tall with my last growth spurt," she said, chuckling a bit and placing a hand on her own head. "I'm still pretty short."

User Image'Zuba nodded, confirming it. "Not much." she said, shrugging. "Nothing useful. Cookies, mainly. And pancakes." She thought about the offer. As much as she'd like to learn more, she probably shouldn't bother Noah with the request. "'S okay...don't have to." she said, smiling lightly and shaking her head.

"You're not short." the spawn said, actually stringing together a full sentence. Of course, she was ignoring the fact that she was taller than her friend now, but that wasn't important. She smiled lightly, shaking her head a bit with a chuckle.

Adhara licked her lips at the thought of pancakes; she hadn't had those in a while and the ones that Noah made were kind of gross. Like, they were overly healthy and didn't have enough... eggs or something. They were always thin and tasted like undercooked potato chips. Which was, obviously, gross. Adhara stuck her tongue out a bit when 'Zuba said that her father didn't have to teach her to cook.

"That works, then. I could teach you after dinner how to make some really cool desserts and stuff. After all, it is a sleepover. We should be having fun, right?" she asked with a bright smile. That was actually a pretty good idea; it was something that didn't require too much effort and her dad wouldn't get all angry with her for doing that.

She chuckled at the short comment, before standing on her tiptoes -still not wearing any shoes, as she'd managed to forget them- and comparing their heights as the door opened at their floor. "Okay, so I'm not too short, but you and everyone else is still taller than me," she teased, not disagreeing, but not agreeing either. "Come on, it's just down here," she commented, gesturing for her friend to follow her down the hall and to the apartment, which was located at the very end of the hallway.

User ImageIf she'd known what kind of pancakes poor Adhara had been subjected too, she would have offered to make them in a heartbeat. No one should have to eat pancakes that tasted like soggy chips. That was, like, against the rules, right?

"Alright." 'Zuba said with a smile, nodding and giving in. After all, Adhara had a point; sleepovers, according to television, were supposed to be fun. Cooking together could be fun, so she saw no reason to argue. She then nodded, following after Adhara. "Not everyone." she said, chuckling. Then again, she hadn't met everyone, but it was the thought that count.

Adhara laughed a bit and shrugged. "Alright, maybe not everyone. I am taller than my brothers, at least," she said with a smile. "You've met Aludra, right? Well, there's him and then I have a younger brother named Haleriun," she said, chuckling weakly. "My dad ended up with him... somehow; I'm not completely sure how that happened. But he's deaf, so he can't talk very well and he has a habit of throwing fits a lot. Err... so does Aludra. Just as a warning," she commented, giggling nervously as she opened the door to her rather large apartment, revealing her father and younger brother watching television, her youngest brother curled up on her father's lap, fast asleep.

"Everybody, you all know 'Zuba, and 'Zuba- this is everybody!" she said happily with a spread of her arm, as though showing off her strange, rag-tag home to her friend. Tonight would be a fun one, that was for sure.

User Image'Zuba smiled lightly. "Sure it will be fine." she said, patting her friends arm. She was used to toddlers and temper tantrums, anyways. And, after seeing how polite Aludra seemed to be at the park, she found it a bit hard to believe he'd throw a fit. Then again, she'd only met him once; Adhara lived with him.

She stepped into the apartment, offering a small wave to everyone. "'Lo, everybody." she said, bowing her head for a moment. She glanced around the room, curious about this new place.

Noah waved back, Aludra obviously entranced by the movie, and gave a bit of a smile. "Good to see you again, 'Zuba," he said kindly, looking toward Adhara with a bit of interest, only for her stomach to give a rumble. She laughed sheepishly and gestured for her friend to follow her into the kitchen. Noah simply waved when they left, going back to his movie with a bit more of a smile than he'd had originally, though he wasn't completely sure why; most parents would be terrified of their kids growing up, after all.

"Tada~" she said, gesturing around the decent-sized space with one of her arms, Niita mimicking the movement. "This is our kitchen; 'suppose that would mean it was the first stop on our tour," she stated easily, glancing over at her friend curiously. "Are you hungry by any chance? Or did you eat already? Or... did you eat already but are hungry anyway, like I tend to be a lot these days." Had she really just said that out loud...? Oops.

User Image"Good to see, too." 'Zuba said, smiling lightly and nodding once. She glanced at the screen a moment, watching a second before turning to follow her friend to the next stop on the house tour.

"Nice..." the split girl said, glancing around the kitchen. She then offered a small nod. "'M a little. Ate, but not much." She thought a moment, debating with herself silently. "Why hungry? Growth spurt?" She knew she tended to get really hungry right before she grew; maybe it was the same way with Adhara? Personally; she hoped not; it seemed like she'd just caught up with her friend in the growth race. Of course, she didn't quite think through how the question could be considered rude or anything; she thought it was a good, honest question.

Adhara nodded a bit in reply and smiled, before going to look through the cabinets to take out a few good, simple cookbooks out and find a few little snacky things: Chips, salsa, nacho cheese [which she stuck in the microwave]. "That's good, then. You can have some chips with me for now and then later we can make more food, but more fancy."

At the question, the preteen paused, and almost immediately turned back around to rifle through the refridgerator, occupying herself however was possible, face bright red. "Um, well, you see, about that..." she mumbled, before smiling weakly and pulling out two little boxes of chocolate soymilk, offering one to her friend and dropping her eyes right back down to her fidgeting bare feet. "See, the reason that I'm hungry so much nowadays... is 'cause... I'm pregnant." She stated finally, glancing back up at 'Zuba with a great bit of worry in her eyes, as though expecting to be yelled at or teased or something to that affect.

User Image'Zuba smiled as the smell of melting cheese started to permeate from the microwave. "Alright." she said, nodding a bit. Seemed like a good plan to her; it'd be fun to cook for Adhara. Not to mention that chips with nacho cheese sounded REALLY good right about now.

She took the box of soymilk, not even looking at it. "Pregnant...?" It seemed to take a moment for it to click in her head. "You're having a baby?" she asked, her tone calm despite the surprise that spread across her face. Seeming to have noticed her slip up, she quickly slipped back into her usual broken speech, hoping Adhara hadn't noticed. "Going well? No complications?" She seemed worried for her friend; from what she heard, pregnancy was far from a pleasant experience.
