(...and I'm speaking of the Tennant suits)
Where would I go? I mean, I hear it's hard enough finding a male suit that comes close, but female? I keep thinking I've found something online and then it turns out to be sold out or the top comes in the correct color but not the bottom etc.
Agh.
So, for the benefit of everyone looking for a good cosplay, please post any links you have to good Dr. Who-style suits. And jackets, for that matter.
PS--I would very much prefer the brown pinstripe suit. I feel like the ensemble matches better with it, it's more iconic, and, most importantly, blue looks kinda icky on me.
Also--we all have budgets. Cheap is better!
&go.

I don't know where to find anything. I've been hoping for a way to put together a Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison, yes) outfit, but I haven't even been able to find plastic celery anywhere. gonk

You'll probably have to do what I did to get a 6th Doctor type coat--MAKE it. (I found a similar-style jacket pattern, altered it to make a coat, & used really INSANE cloth pieces instead of the proper colors & patterns. mrgreen )

Oh dear. I kind of fail at sewing. D: Well, I found a really nice one that's the wrong size for me on Ebay. Someone else can enjoy. http://cgi.ebay.com/BANANA-REPUBLIC-Brwn-Pinstripe-Pants-Blazer-Suit-Set- Suit!

faerie_ophelia I don't know where to find anything. I've been hoping for a way to put together a Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison, yes) outfit, but I haven't even been able to find plastic celery anywhere. gonk I bought some plastic celery online, honestly for a bit too much money. It was really big so I modified it a bit to be smaller (cut off the top) and it looks pretty cool. I'm having more issues with the rest of the outfit, if I really want it I'm probably going to have to suck it up and make some parts xD;
@OP: I got my 10 outfit entirely at the thrift shop, except the glasses and shoes... The suit is blue, not /really/ accurate, and the pants don't quite match, but once I've got it all on it's fairly obvious. :3 I think it's the brown coat (again, not really accurate) that does it. But it's gunna be harder and harder the closer to the show you want to get. I was going entirely for cost/time for mine.

Well, there's this website that has an exact replica of the brown suit (with blue pinstripes and everything) but I think they only make men's suits. I suppose you could contact them and ask if they could do one for a woman. They are pretty expensive, though. I think they have the exact replica coat, too, but I can't remember. I was looking for all that quite a while ago.

There's always the thrift store or DI for those who live in Utah, like me. But it might take multiple attempts to find it in the right size.

I wanna see! I have recently been overly fascinated by the sixth Doctor. I was thinking his coat would look really nice in different shades of brown. It'd be something I'd actually wear on a regular basis, heheh. But anyway, back to the real question. The biggest problem with finding a suit like Ten's brown one is the fabric. The reason it costs $200 more to get it in the accurate fabric from the site I posted is that it is EXTREMELY hard to find brown with light blue pinstripes. In fact, the guy who owns that site has run out of the fabric on occasion and had to stop selling the suits until he was able to find more. However, if you don't mind being slightly inaccurate and just went for a regular brown pinstripe suit, I'd be surprised if you couldn't find something. You also have to keep in mind, however, that suits in general are not overly cheap. So if you want cheap, you're just going to have to go to a secondhand store or ebay and pray a lot. ... Was what I was going to say, until I went to overstock.com. ninja Here's one.And another.Not even remotely accurate, but close enough if you don't really care.

Try a Salvation Army Thrift Store. I was actually able to find a blue pinstripe suit that looked just like Eleventh's at the one in my town.
