Major Alliances The four major alliances are the foundation of the politics of the land. When the members of the Council of 27 began to solidify into official blocs, the skirmishes between the Cabal and the Warlock Hunters rapidly escalated into an all-out war between the Cabal Coalition and the Hunters' Coven, with the Tyrgani Alliance.
The major alliances are the movers of the 27 Universe.

Cabal Coalition
With five Council votes, the Cabal Coalition has as many members as consistently vote in the Outlander Confederacy. Formed just before the outbreak of the Unmasked War, the Cabal Coalition's joint attack on the Djinni, led by a member of The Resurrected, Takeshi Watanabe, revealed that the Cabal and the Sages had allied. This was also the first major test of The Unity in a real fight. The core group, from the Cabal's inception, was that of the Cabal, the Vampires, and the Werebeasts. It only added the Sages and the minor demonic warlord Harron as the conflict escalated.
The Coalition is the primary instigator of the Unmasked War and the main reason it became an open conflict.

Hunters' Coven
The first major alliance group, formed by the Warlock Hunters, Demon Hunters, and Mundane Humans. When the Djinni officially gave their support to the Hunters' Coven in response to an attack by Sages and the first soldiers of The Unity, and the Clockwork Knights made their previously informal alliance official, the Hunters' Coven began to grow into the modern NATO-analogue it presently is. It has two fairly well-known specialist groups, the Ithaca Group and Angeldust.
The Hunters' Coven has 9 members, and thus is the largest single alliance on the Council of 27. There is an inner circle of the 3 original members and an outer circle of their allies and affiliates.
Inner Circle: The Warlock Hunters, the Demon Hunters, and the Mundane Humans Outer Circle, informal allies: The Angels are not formally allied members, except through Angeldust. However, they consistently vote with the Hunters' Coven leadership. The Clockwork Knights are allies. CyNet3 is not formally allied, but almost always consults the Hunters' Coven leadership and votes as they do. In addition, cyNet3 provides large quantities of the second-generation Athena rifles and Phase Munitions exclusively to Hunters' Coven members and affiliates. The Djinni are formally allied, with their Magus-General, Joe Simpson, being one of the most important leaders in the Unmasked War. The Druids are informally allied, and though they do not work alongside cyNet3 often, they have set aside their differences to fight the Cabal Coalition and the Alliance of Tyrg. Demonic Warlord Ma'krogeyna holds a dual membership to the Hunters' Coven and the Outlander Confederation, and though he is closer to the Outlander Confederation than the Hunters' Coven, his Demon-General, Fyrin, has been working with the Coven since before the outbreak of the Unmasked War.
The first to react to the Cabal's aggression, the Hunters' Coven is a historically-dominant force whose primary objective is to eliminate the Cabal.
Playable Character Types: Angeldust members Clockwork Knights Demons-Minor Demons-Major are available on a probationary basis Druids Demon Hunters Ithaca Group members Warlock Hunters (Ordinary Mages)
Leader: The 7 Magus-Generals and their 7 respective Directors of Operations, working in tandem with an advisory body of representative members of the periphery members, form the Hunters' Coven leadership.

Outlander Confederation Demon Politics, though often confusing and chaotic, have formed a solid demonic political bloc for the first time in centuries with the outbreak of the Unmasked War. It is the second largest Major Alliance Group, with eight members. However, though the Outlander Confederation often acts as the deciding votes on Council matters, they rarely form a definite position of their own, as they have many differing interests and the Dreamshell, The Hive, and They Who Walk Between rarely vote on Council Matters at all.
The primary decision-making is done by the Demonic Warlords on the Council of 27. The Council members are not, for the first time in centuries, threatened with dethroning at the slightest sign of weakness. Action against any one of them would lead to the others taking retribution. The warlords are: Inaz and Holos Ardtantia Gaikoros Sumra Ma'krogeyna (holds dual membership to the Hunters' Coven and the Outlander Confederation)
The Outlanders in the Outlander Confederation are mysterious, but accepted. They are: The Dreamshell The Hive They Who Walk Between
In addition, the Outlander Confederation has two special groups linked to their home being Crossover. Most Outlanders affiliate themselves with the Outlander Confederacy, including, notably, the Drakken. Though they occasionally do contracts with the Necroguild for Drakken-obsidian, their primary loyalty is to the Confederation. The Order of Moloch is widely accepted as the most powerful group of demons ever not to include one of the Farthest Fallen or a Lucifex.
Playable Character Types: Demons-Minor Demons-Major Drakken Humanoid Outlanders Knights of Moloch

Alliance of Tyrg
The Alliance of Tyrg, at only four members, has the fewest Council votes of any Major Alliance Group. However, it also possesses the most powerful individuals and the highest level of magic, as well as the only known non-magic manipulation of reality in the form of the Psion Union.
With highly effective special operatives such as Keyiro Mitheinous and groups such as the Shadowmen, the Alliance of Tyrg doesn't need Council votes to make its voice heard.
The Alliance of Tyrg includes the Ghosters, the Illuminati Information Brokerage, the Necroguild, and Tyrg.
Playable Character Types: Ghosters Illuminati Necroguild Mages (Blood mages, black mages, demonologists) Psions Tyrgani operatives
Leader: The secret leaders of Tyrg, the Ghosters, the Illuminati, and the Necroguild generally make decisions together.
