My research begins in a few days time. I will be heading out of the confines of my laboratory to start my research on Pokemn communication. After reading multiple of books of other researchers, there seems to be some missing links that have yet to be discovered.
This journal/log will be updated on any findings I stumble upon during my research. Nothing will be missed.
I must be prepared for anything, yet I have no pokemon to protect me but no matter. My intensive knowledge has given me enough to know how to handle delicate situations until I have one.

Urgh. This is soo frustrating. My assistant had misplaced one of the headphones I would need on my research. It's so hard to find good help these days but alas. They do the best they can and I appreciate them.
Well, my journey will start soon and I am anxious to see what Pokemon I will encounter and observe. My main focus in communication is not their normal language between each other but their songs. Every Pokemon has they own unique voice that expresses their emotions that even speaking could never reveal.
I am not any musician myself but I have some talents in playing the flute. Hopefully that will sooth or lure some Pokemon for me to study.
I have done all I can here in this place.
Hmm, I wonder if my assistant has found it yet. It wouldn't surprise me if the in-house Skitty has stashed it somewhere. The little brat. Ah! There he is...
It's about time! Where...? Oh, of course...that little brat....

Melody's Hatching
Now the day is over
Night is drawing nigh
Shadows of the evening
Steal across the sky
"What's that?"
Now the darkness gathers
Stars begin to peep
Birds and beasts and flowers
Soon will be asleep
"It..it sounds nice. Where is it coming from..."
Now the day is over
The sun has said goodnight
The crescent moon has risen
To share it’s gentle light
"It's coming from outside of my warm haven."
Now the wind is whispering
In stillness soft and sweet
All of nature’s creatures
Now are sound asleep
"If the world outside of my haven is as nice as what I am hearing, then I want out!"

Melody: A Whole New World
In the middle of a quiet and beautiful night, deep inside of a forest, a singular egg, on a soft bed of moss and leaves, started to shake violently and glow brightly.
All the pokemon in the forest watched the egg as if was the most fascinating thing. No one knew how the egg appeared in the forest but they guarded it as if it was one of their own. The Chansey's incubated it on cold or rainy night and day. The bird pokemon would take turns keeping a sharp eye on it for any egg-snatchers. Where as the ground dwelling pokemon would turn it and cuddle next to it whenever possible.
At one point, one of the Furret found a little musical box as it ventured into the nearest town, which was miles away. Every night, one of the pokemon would crank the box and let it sing to the egg and the forest to sleep. There was one particular pokemon that had the most attachment to the little egg more than the rest. A little Pachirisu would always tidy the nest up at every opportunity for dead leaves, and make sure there wasn't even a spec of dirt on the egg.
Now after waiting for so long, the mysterious egg is about to hatch! The little Pachirisu was practically dancing on his feet in excitment! A new friend! All the other pokemon were very nice too but he had a feeling that he will be a special friend to the new arrival.
The birds and beasts and flowers
All have gone to sleep.
As the song finshed it's last verse, the egg shined so brightly that it blinded all the pokemon within view of the egg as the little baby pokemon started to come out. The squirrel pokemon even had to cover his little eyes with his bushy tail from becoming blind.
After the blinding light started to fade, all the pokemon turned their eyes back onto the spot they were focused on only moments before they all gasped in shock.
The legendary pokemon, Mew, was curled up in a ball as if she was sleeping soundly, on the bed of moss and leaves. Everyone was very hushed at the time, for they did not want to disturb the new bundle of joy. However, they didn't have to worry much longer.
The Mew began to open her eyes in stages. First it was a slight flutter of her lashes before it stilled. She started to squint and squirm, as if something was bothering her. It was around that time when she started to unconsiously started to use her psyhic powers to float in mid-air, hovering to the ground.
The other pokemon around the nest, gasped quietly at the amazing power the little baby had after just moments ago was an egg.
It was then, the Mew opened her eyes fully to take in what was around her. She wasn't startled or scared of all the pokemon that was around her. She didn't fear that they would hurt her either. She knew that they loved her very much. Their very aura around every one of them said as much.
"Hello." Melody smiled. "My name is Melody, what's yours?"
All of the pokemon was jus in amazed silence before they all cheered that new life has arrived in their forest haven. They would do that to all of the new life but this one was more special.

Subject: Night Before the Journey

Well, it's the night before I leave the lab. I have everything set up so that my assistants could manage on their own for a good long while. Of course, they can still call me on my cell phone if they really need me. Mind you, they will still be on their own.
I hope they can keep that Skitty from stashing away more of our eqipment, though. -sigh- Probably impossible.
Anyway, My gear and notebook is all ready for me to leave first thing in the morning. I do wonder on what I will see. I know there is this forest that hasn't been ventured into very much in the last few years because of its location. There are large valleys of mountains near it. It's definitely in higher altitude and much colder too.
Gah, all the gear is going to be a pain to carry but it's necessary in the name of science! -shakes fist- Ahhem! Anyway, I should be going to bed now. I have a big day tomorrow. Damn. I am so glad I have a car or this journey would be a pain.
Then again...I will have to leave it at the nearest city from where I am heading...Hmmm. The hard part has yet to come.

All of the Pokemon in the forest rushed to introduce themselves but after a bunch of chattered together, one of the zubats screeched loudly, causing everyone to stop talking all at once.
"One at a time." The zubat said quietly.
Everyone started murmuring to themselves, embarrassed. Melody just giggled and smiled more widely as she waited patiently for them to start.
As everyone introduced themselves, Melody noticed that one of the Pachirisu was being awefully quiet compared to the rest. Curious, she asked, "And what is your name?"
The Pachirisu still did not speak, only to shy behind his tail.
One of the pokemon spoke for him. "His name is Waltz. He doesn't speak. We are not sure if he can, Melody."
Melody turned back to the silent Waltz. "Oh. Well, it's nice to meet you, Waltz." She smiled at him, which made him shy even more so behind his tail. "I am sure we will be great friends."
That was when the little musical box started another song.
[male voice]I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?
Everyone got real quiet as the new song started. Melody, on the other hand, became entranced by the song. This was what she heard from the inside of her egg. Not this particular song but the music box.
Melody drifted over to the box and used her psychic powers to make it rest on her paws as it continued to spew out more lyrics.
[male voice] I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride
A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming
At the next verse, the lyrics seem to flow through Melody as if she had wrote the very song herself and she sang with the musical box with her whimsical voice.
A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here
It's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with you
[male voice]Now I'm in a whole new world with you
All of the pokemon in the forest could only watch in pure awe as they seemed to be transfixed as Melody continue to sing with her eyes closed gently. The little Pachirisu scurried a little closer to the legendary pokemon but without disturbing the wonderous singer. Wow! She has a pretty voice!
