After much deliberation and only one idea sent my way (thanks to the cow-killing jncodemon) I've decided that the halloween contest ought to have some levity and involve using our brains. Now, there are some rules here, so please pay close attention!
Attention! The contest is now open to the entire guild! However, the prize for the winner has been reduced to 2k, and as the only person to even attempt the second riddle, Nikki will be awarded a 1k prize. If no one can answer the second riddle, I guess I'll just donate the other 2k to the guild.
So, all that said, here are the rules.
1. No fighting in this thread. None. Inflammatory statements and bickering will result in disqualification from the contest.
2. Everyone is allowed to enter.
3. Answers must come in a relatively timely fashion for each round. I'll figure this part out once I know who is competing.
4. You can talk in this thread. Feel free.
5. Answers must be PMed to me, not posted here! DON'T post answers here!
6. Your answers must be in competent English.
7. If you're eliminated, don't complain about it too much.
8. This will only run until November 1st at the latest. If it does, then the 3k prize will be divvied up between the remaining entrants.
The Preliminary Riddle!
It isn't quite eight, but tied in with fate,
an image of lines in two portions.
It is sons, it is signs, it is seals, and you'll find,
It is nineteen out of twelve rotations.
The Semi-Final Riddle
It stretches as far as you can imagine, and at the same time it is nothing at all. Acquiring more of it is a waste of time, because no matter how much of it you have, you'll always have the same amount. It exists in everything, and yet it defines nothing. It is both finite and infinite.
What is it?
