I know that many ofyou were likely raised under a Christian influence, and I'm sure all of you know of the concept of gaurdian angels, and upon encountering New Age beliefs I'm sure that many of you know about spirit guides as well... but my question to you is; are gaurdian angels and spirit guides essentialy the same thing?

I personally believe so. The concepts are pretty similar. They're both of high and great good, they're there to help us and guide us. They are commonly reported as coming in dreams. The differences I can seem to see between them are that gaurdian angels are depicted as winged humans, whereas spirit guides can be human or animal. Also, the religious origins of such beliefs differ, between the Jewish/Christian? gaurdian angels, and the more Paganistic spirit guides.

I know that Emma, one of my guides, does have a somewhat angelic apperance. She has long flowing hair and can often be seen wearing the color white. Her aura is generally white with a gold tinge, and due to the glow ofit it could easily be mistaken that she has wings. Ra has the same golden aura, yet does not take the form of a human but that of an eagle.

I just wanted to see what anybody elses take on this was.

I would like to know more about spiritual guides.

I sort of stumbled upon it first by talking to a friend, and then second by looking at native america totems.

First of all it wasn't that I didn't believe in that stuff, I just didn't know anything about it, never really cared truthfully.

Then he kept saying, "You have to be a wolf totem! I bet you are! You're a wolf! Just like me!" Since he said that his personality/totem was that of the white wolf.

I was like..."I don't feel very wolf-ish. Even when you explain to me how noble they are and stuff, that just doesn't seem right to me, I don't think I'm a wolf."

But it sent me on a rollercoaster of curiousity. I desperately wanted to find what totem I REALLY was. And who or what my spiritual guide was, if I had one, since his was a white wolf among two or three other things.

I searched the internet (i know not the best place but I had no where else to go) and came across a lot of descriptions of different totems. But no matter how many wolf ones I read or how many different ways they could turn, it still felt wrong, and I denied that that was my magic or totem or guide.

Then one night I remember him telling me that if I have a bad dream, to call for my spiritual guide to help me through, or to pray to it to appear to me before I go to sleep.
I didn't pray but in my dream things started to get weird and it WAS a nightmare. I got scared since these monsters were after me and then I said; "Please if someone or something is my guide or guardian I need help!"
As soon as I was done saying that this big brown/beige/tan/white coyote with pale brown eyes leapt out of nowhere and faced the monsters. I stopped and watched as it glared at them, not snarling, but the monsters seemed to have gotten the point.
"A coyote?" I remember saying since...They're small and not very brave animals.
And I don't know how I knew, but I knew that she was female, this coyote that came out when I called.
But then again I heard this wicked snarl that sent chills of excitement up my back. I turned around just in time to see a big black dog of some sort jump out of the bushes and face the monsters beside the female coyote. Same with her, I just knew that he was a male, and he was so gorgeous.
He was bigger than her but I know he wasn't a wolf, but he didn't seem like a coyote either. I still don't know exactly, though I try to lean towards coyote. He was in-between the two sizes and has the general form of a coyote, but he's much thicker limbed, more solid.
His hair is a little thicker than a coyote's hair, and it's all completely black. Gorgeous black that shines like it's silk you get the point. Though on the top of his head down to the nape of his neck, the tips of the black hairs are white, making it look frosted. His eyes are a feirce blue, a blue I've never seen in any living creature in my dreams, movies, or in reality. They're a dark pure blue and seem to glitter...
Anyway once he jumped out and snarled to face the monsters, his hair was sticking up, and then the female coyote looked at me and bounded off.
I woke up with the black coy-thing killing the monsters.
I didn't think much of it, saying, "Well those couldn't have been my guides maybe it was just a co-winky-dink dream."

Then a few nights later I prayed for whoever or whatever my guide was to show themselves to me when I fell asleep so I would know for sure if I had a guide.

In the dream I was standing in a forest, and out from the bushes jumped the female Coyote. When I went to talk to her and to touch her head she turned and ran off.
Then the black one walked out and stood in front of me, his blue eyes staring in to my green, and I knew then that he WAS my guide. Whatever he is.

When I woke up I searched for coyote totems and everything I've read describes my life experiences and my general personality. When I want to help someone I'll use subtle trickery so that they can help themselves, but most of the time it backfires, other things.

Though if I'm completely wrong please correct me. I would like to find what I am still if I am wrong. Thanks

i'm not too sure about what i believe in in relation to that.... i don't know my spirit guides, i know that i DO have them, as something has been watching out for me, otherwise i would definilty not have made it to being 19 (well almost.)

Ok, do spirt guilds follow you around? Because lately, I'v scenced something/someone right by me when I'm on the computer. And yes, I feel it right now to. confused

Maybe it wasn't a coincidence...

I've asked six or seven times, and each time I ask I dream about my favorite video game. Every time. And my favorite character is always in the starring role in my dreams.

Want my opinion? I don't believe in spirit guides. So maybe I'll get cursed for it. Doesn't mind me at all.
