Dressings of a time long since passed, forgotten by many and remembered by few. A very few that can trace their blood back to the beginnings of empires. A few that can recall the rise and fall of many nations. Those who can reminisce on the devastating fall of the Roman Empire and the thrill of the Crusades. These few have long been able to mix their blood with that of others to increase their number. They are those that humans fear to run into in dimly lit alleyways and empty parking lots. They are vampires and they have existed as long as humankind. "Our dates are brief, and therefore we admire What thou dost foist upon us that is old, And rather make them born to our desire Than think that we before have heard them told." And the majority of humankind has been none the wiser for millenia. However, there are a select few who have knowledge of vampires. These are those who hunt vampires. Whether to eliminate or study their race, each has their own reasoning. Then there are those humans who know of vampires because of an unhappy encounter. Many of these people try to convince themselves that these beings are anything but supernatural, as it is in their nature to reject that which does not make sense. "Thy registers and thee I both defy, Not wond'ring at the present, nor the past; For thy records and what we see doth lie, Made more or less by thy continual haste." Though vampires have long worked to keep their existence a secret, it has become increasingly difficult to keep a shroud around their people. Information leaks. Even the most reliable of confidants eventually loose their lips. And it is the folly of these few that causes the conflict of many. For six centuries the four vampire clans have been at war. They are the dignified Pendefigion, the mystical Veneficus, the alluring Zingaro, and the brutish Keldrak. Peace must be achieved before the four clans destroy each other or before they destroy the world. And there is only one way to stop this war.  S.t.o.r.y.l.i.n.e. xXxOur story begins after the time of witches and superstitions, and yet before the time of industrialization. Where narrow streets are inhabitted with horses, but no guns to take the lives of it's citizens. In many villages similar to this one, vampires roam without fear of having limbs torn off and burned. Their only fear is each other. Clans, groups of vampires, families or races even living under their own rules, with their own kind and with their own enemies.
Caught between this ever raging war are the humans, ignorant of the truth but a select few. A select few with the ability, the knowledge as well as the experience. ones with inexplainable powers, much like the vampires and yet remaining a race all their own. Knowing of the vampire's existence, will they fight against them, with the odds no where in their favor? Or join forces with a clan to become part of a larger force, and to fight for the dominance of their clan?
Others, may even neglect their responsibilities, neglect and deny their abilities and merely live, and die in the crossfire. Whilst the vampires live a whole other story. Will they accept the unique humans? Feed on their delectable blood? Or welcome them, use them and eat them? It's a story that has never been told, something kept secret and away from folklore and myths. The Four Clans There are four vampire clans in this roleplay. Each clan runs according to it's own set of rules, a factor that has had a hand in the death of many a vampire in the past 600 years. However, there are a few things that all the clans have in common. -Each clan answers to one leader. The leader bears the name of the clan as his or her own and makes many of the major decisions that affect the clan. The leader appoints his or her successor near or at the time of death. -Each clan has it's own territory. There are certain lines of all four territories that overlap and create a kind of safe zone for any vampire that is within. It is the Common Territory or Commons for short. This area disallows any fighting and is often used as a meeting place for negotiations, however few they may be. Every vampire is required to respect the sanctity of the Commons. Pendefigion The Pendefigion Clan is run by the most elite of vampires. Many of the members of this clan are of noble birth or otherwise much better off than the average vampire. They are average in number, the last count having been 120 members. The Pendefigion Clan focuses on big business and specializes in politics, having several companies and a few political seats. The Pendefigion are fierce social competitors and have telepathic abilities that they often use to sway situations to their favor. The members of Pendefigion can also influence the minds of others or read their thoughts, though it takes a conscious effort to do so. Not every member has the same ability, this creates a balance within the clan. The Pendefigion tend to avoid physical combat, as they are not as resilient as some and have a much lower rate of regeneration than the average vampire. However, many members of this clan are adept with projectile weapons. Clan Pendefigion is the political head of the vampire society and is run with a system close to British Parlaiment. Each member has a say in what happens regarding the affairs of Clan Pendefigion and can vote on what they deem best, but the final decision still rests on the Clan head. The Pendefigion Clan's strongest rivalry is with Clan Keldrak, though they are not above employing members of Clan Keldrak to do their dirty work. Veneficus The Veneficus Clan is made up of middle class vampires. Many of the members of this clan range from upper to lower class birth and can do well for themselves. Clan Veneficus focuses on the preservation of history, both vampire and human alike, and owns several museums, libraries and archives. When last counted, Clan Veneficus numbered 101. The Veneficus specialize in the use of magic and have honed this ability well over the years. All members of Clan Veneficus are well-learned and can easily navigate even the most disorganized of libraries. Aside from learned magic, most members of the Veneficus have an innate control over one type of magic. However, their specific control gives each member of this clan an opposing weakness. For example, a member of Clan Veneficus that controls shadows will likely be devastatingly vulnerable to sunlight and easily killed by it. The Veneficus rarely fight and will only do so with magic. The Veneficus Clan is run with a system close to the senate of the Roman Empire wherein members can put decisions to a vote. The Clan head will then act according to the vote or will do what he or she deems best for the survival of Clan Veneficus. The Veneficus Clan has no specific rivalry, as they have quarrels with every clan. Clan Pendefigion has lost their trust due to a particularly bad political move and Clan Keldrak often clashes with them over access to historical records while avoiding direct contact with Clan Zingaro. Zingaro Clan Zingaro is made up of low class vampires. Every member of this clan is descended in one way or another from gypsies and there is a sort of familial bond between the members of this clan. Clan Zingaro focuses on the entertainment industry and owns a theatre when not traveling as a circus troupe. The Zingaro Clan only numbers at 40 members as they are highly selective of who they bring into their fold. The Zingaro specialize in entertainment and many members have alluring movements or enchanting voices. Several members of this clan have traits akin to those of circus performers, making for several acrobats and contortionists. The fighters in Clan Zingaro have made an art out of self-defense and study several elegant fighting styles. Many of the fighters of this clan will use exotic weaponry. The Zingaro, while adept at physical combat, are vulnerable to psychic and magical attack. Clan Zingaro is run as a traditional clan is. They have a set of elders that will convene in a court to resolve conflicts and to decide the best courses of action for the clan with the final decision being made by the Clan Head, who is always a part of the court of elders. The Zingaro Clan's main rivalry is with the Veneficus Clan, for their magic impurities, and the Pendefigion Clan, for their betrayal in ancient times. Keldrak Clan Keldrak consists of a few vampires and is seen as little more than a glorified pack of rabble-rousers by the other clans. They are brutish in nature, often solving problems with their fists rather than with words. The Keldrak are known combatants and are often employed as mercenaries, both by the other clans and by some humans. They work for the highest bidder but never pledge their loyalty to any employer. The Keldrak are small in number and have only 7 members. This has caused them to form into a very tight-knit group. Clan Keldrak specializes in combat and have refined their battle tactics. Each member of the Keldrak is stronger, faster, and more enduring than the average vampire, making them perfect fighting machines. While the Keldrak Clan cannot use magic, they can endure some of its effects but only for a limited amount of time. The members of Clan Keldrak, while able to take a bullet, are vulnerable to mental attacks. The Keldrak Clan is run under a system that is remarkably similar to the Visigothic Code and each member respects this. Quarrels are mediated and punishments dealt out by the Clan Head according to the Lex Visigothorum. Though brutish on the surface, the Keldrak follow their clan law to the letter. Clan Keldrak's main rivalry is with Clan Pendefigion, as it was they who had the hand in the eradication of the majority of Clan Keldrak 300 years ago.

 H.o.w. T.o. K.i.l.l. T.h.e. V.a.m.p.i.r.e.s. It has always been a mystery, mankind has always searched for weakness in others. Weakness in monsters and in beings that they fear. But within folklore, lies are spun within tales of these Vampiric creatures, the beings that lurk in the light. Life is stranger than fiction as they say. But fiction isn't real, not everything in it is true. And thus, walking up to a vampire with a cross will not repel it away from you. But what will? And what won't?
Vampires fear Garlic. Their keen sense of smell does not allow them to come to close to it, without their eyes burning and their noses twitching with irritation.
Vampires fear Silver through the heart or head. It would kill you wouldn't it? Then why would it be different for them
Vampires fear Sunlight. They live much of their lives hunting at night, and thus their keen eyesight once adjusted to the dark ache at bright light.
Vampires fear Death. Vampires are not immortal, they can die. Whilst their skin is much tougher then that of average humans they can still die.
Vampires do NOT fear Holy Water. Why would vampires ever be seen as an enemy of all things Holy? They would be detested and hated as much as the lions and the earth.
Vampires do NOT fear Water. It does not shock them, after all they need to bathe too.
Vampires do NOT fear Churches. See Holy Water.
Vampires do NOT fear Wooden Stakes to the heart. Wood is such a fragile material, and when has it even been able to pierce such hard a surface as marble?
Like humans, who have their own individual fears, vampires are similar in such a sense. Only these have been proven true in all the vampires encountered. Character Profile Skeletons Note: There are two types of vampires in this roleplay, Moroi and Strigoloi. Moroi are vampires who were born vampires. They have some semblance of respiration and a heartbeat, but both are far too faint for human perception. Strigoloi are vampires who were once human. I am usually { A bit on the giddy side, I'm the type of person to laugh at just about anything, much to some people's anger. I always pose with a sort of exagerated nonchalance with the ability to state the obvious as well as to be extremely blunt. Much to some people's surprise there is no sarcasm in my personality, and I enjoy talking with a sort of superiority which comes from merely not wanting to do anything.
Laziness is a part of me, as well as the extreme wanting to have a bit of fun which sometimes leads me to be unpredictable. If I find someone boring, I change the subject and often excuse myself, pretending to have quite the short attention span. My fighting skills are adequate though rusty, since I find humans to be just so entertaining. }
If you wish to know a little about my past { Shieyrella was born a vampire, and thus grew up in a noble home. With but one other sibling, and older brother whom she had grown up looking at as both a rival and role model. In her grande mansion, she often spent time with others of her clan, growing accustomed to their ways as well as soon enough becoming a complete part of it, whilst her brother had joined the ranks of the Pendefigion who she know distrusts. Still a rather young vampire, she does not completely understand the ways of the clans and such, and truth be told finds little interest in them. She is more so interested in the past, helping the museum, as well as memorizing it's scripts. Her clan is her life and all that truly entertains her are it's law as well as it;s enemies. }

I am a moroi. I am the leader of Clan Keldrak. I like to use a Zweihänder and an anelance. My abilities include great strength, speed and endurance. Which means I am weak to mental attacks. I am usually strong and aloof with great forethought to each action. I am eloquent in battle and plebeian in speech, considering the latter less effective at times. I do not suffer fools and have little patience with humans. I tend to be a little too stubborn at times, but will bend for a few people. If you wish to know a little about my past: Lukas was born in Gaul in 500 AD, seven years before the Visigoths were defeated in the Battle of Vouillé. He was raised a Visigoth and runs the Keldrak clan under a system that is deceptively close to the Visigothic Code of Law. Lukas was appointed the Keldrak clan leader at the end of the ninth crusade and has held the post for 736 years. I am usually a patient person, but through recent years, my patience has run thin with humans. Instead of fighting, I would rather run and leave others to do my dirty work. Its hard to catch me. I’m not a very angry person, my temper is nonexistent as far as I know. Being a quick thinker helps me get out of sticky situations.
If you wish to know a little about my past Well, I was born upon a farm. By the time I was born, vampires were infesting the earth. As I grew, my parents made sure I was taught properly, and when I reached the age of thirteen, I knew why. Being the seventh son of a seventh son, I was ‘endowed’ with the ability of extraordinary reflex and capability amongst humans. I was taken as an exorcist. Where I was born, they were known as ‘spooks’. One of the main problems were vampires, and I was taught how to kill them in my first two years of training. Then, as I reached the age of seventeen, I was cocky, hasty and confident. After killing my first vampire, I felt like I could do anything.
Boy, was I wrong.
Four of my colleagues and I had been hunting down a pack of vampire clan members called the Veneficus. There were about six of them. As we brandished our silver weapons, we charged into battle to excise them. They were waiting for us. I managed to destroy three, the last of which bit me as I killed it. My colleagues weren’t as lucky as I. They were all burned, and I forced to watch. The vampire who bit me passed onto me some of his abilities. After that, my choices were to either kill myself or accept my vampirism. It was hard, but I learned that I am what I am, and that I’m to much of a coward to commit suicide. I soon joined the same clan I had attempted to slaughter. For five hundred and twenty two years, I roamed this earth as a vampire.

I am usually { rather quiet. More absorbed in working than actually talking, but not that I'm shy. I;m more of an often preoccupied person, yet at the same time I'm not completely absorbed in my work. I'm the kind o guy who just goes with the flow, more so a follower than a leader. I'm not someone who's ever overly hyper, no matter what I eat and I'm more of a monotone kind of person. )
If you wish to know a little about my past { Nick grew up with an average family, his father was actually a farmer rather than a carpenter far off in the country side. It was when his father grew too old to take care of the crops did he and all his five other siblings began to take up more jobs on the farm. Yet all the while, Nick preferred the idea of being a carpenter, just the idea of being different. Eventually, a carpenter from a different village entered his and he was taken in to be his apprentince. )

I am a vampire hunter.
I prefer to use a crossbow and a blade of some sort.
My abilities include moving stealthily, without being heard by most humans, and some vampires. I’ve also got one hell of an aim.
I am usually seen nor heard. I keep to myself, and I’m quite independent. My mood can change pretty rapidly, from humorous and sarcastic to serious and silent. I am confident, curious, and often very reckless. I am a traveler, though I often return to my childhood home. To get by, I do odd jobs in the place I am currently in.
I have a pretty strong hate for all vampires due to the murdering of my brother, but I’ve always had an interest in and a fascination with them as well. In the hunting of vampires, I come quite close to my prey so that I might study them in their last moments of life. Sometimes I even find it hard to pull the trigger.
If you wish to know a little about my past… My mother died birthing me, and my father of illness when I was too young to remember his face. As a child, I was curious and wild, as well as quick to learn. I was raised by my older brother James, until he was killed by a vampire. Since his death, I have devoted my time to mastering the art of vampire hunting.
An interesting thing about me is I can play almost any instrument you throw my way.
