Background and Family Relationships

Tagerion's relationship with his parents extends in memory only to the beginning of his teenage years. His Father was a stern man, a Captain of the city guard. He laid the foundation for Tagerion's swordsmanship, as well as his love of combat..

His mother was a simple artisan. She made trinkits and little keepsakes from the scraps of mettle she could find, and passed this knowledge on to Tagerion. While he didn't live in the warmest home, he cared for his parents, and they for him. None of the three were openly emotional, Tagerion's departure for the the Military academy at the age of ten was marked by little more than a light hug and a nod of the head by his father.

As a Young privte, Tagerion had little flings and going's on with the local women. As his training intensified and his posts were in more remote locations, he let go of the notion of settling down, deciding war was his art and mistress. He has had no serious relationships since being a teen, and it doesnt seem to have affected him adversely.

History in detail

As a private in the military, Tagerion's main duty was that of a Blacksmith. Having learned how to smelt metal from his mother, the officers of his unit saw fit to carry on this training. Under the apprenticeship of Togrek, A dwarven Blacksmith, Tagerion learned the master art of imbuing metals with magical properties. Specializing in combat arms, Tagerion can create swords, shields, helms in gauntlets in little more than a day, and a full suit of high quality plate within a week. At his young age, Tagerion skills and knowledge grant him the potential of a legendary artificer, given time.

After being in the military some time, and making it to the rank of Corporal, Tagerion started his training in full. Suffering defeats and victories in many situations, with different weapons, he finally established a fighting style that was his own. Tagerion prefers using raw fury and brute force, making his enemy realize that the bite of his blade will not be subtle or quick, but Raw and inescapeable. In battle, he is known to charge head first, massive sword swinging, blows bouncing off the giant that would fell a lesser man.

Freshly out of the military, Tagerion held the Rank of Sargeant. Unable to let go of the art of war, he sought adventure and challenge. While traveling with a wizards throughout the planes, Tagerion was accidentally teleported to the realm of "Gaia", a far stretch from the Sword Coast. Having yet to see the Surface of Gaia, Tagerion has been in Undergaia for not even a full week, when he found the Drow, a known race of craft warriros among his homeland, and has set forth into their realm in search of gold, and to prove his might over those who would test it. .

Equipment, Abilities, and Spells:

Tagerion's Plate mail is a to the blacksmiths of the Sword Coast, and his skills as a blacksmith. The highly encrusted armor hums with magical enchantments, some of which existed when it was given to him, and some of which he crafted of his own skill. The most notable aspect of this armor are the runes encrusted it, which seem to move and change of their own will.

Stormhold, a blade found in Tagerion's earlier exports, has come to be the warriors greatest friend and asset. The Magical blade has a personality similar to Tagerions, and luck would have it, wants nothing more than to prove its worth against Tagerion's foes. It often taunts the warriors enemies, and is only happy when annihilating them with its electrical properties.

Given his lack of magical aptitude, Tagerion has little spells in means of aiding allies, that little magic he does know simply imbue his blade with magical properties, such as fire. While unable to cast spells, his prowess as an artificer more than makes up for this. As he is able to create items for any situations, given prior notice.

Personality: Tagerion is reckless and carefree . Having a reputation for ingesting a massive amounts of spirits, he has taken more than one job simply for the promise of alcohol. His voice does carry a soft confidence to it, causing others to easily follow his lead, and lightening the intimidation his massive frame causes.
Greatest Fear/Phobia: Tagerion's greatest fear is the loss in combat, it is not death the scares him, but failing to prove his own skills.
Pet Peeves? Those who abuse power, those who waste alcohol.
Most at ease when... Drunk, Raised by Dwarves and hard men, Tagerion loves nothing more than sit down for a session of drinking that would kill an orc.
Most uncomfortable when... Out of his armor, Tagerion is a warrior tried and true, and does feel comfortable in normal clothes, let alone nude.
Most embarrassing moment(s) Being bumped down to private three times in his career, all for bar brawls. ((See Biggest Regret))
Darkest Secret : Tagerion drinks heavily because of guilt. The guilt of Comrades lost, innocents he has seen slain, and even the opponents he has killed, he blames himself for all of them.
Greatest Strength: His Raw power, and the seemingly impossible speed at which he can move for his massive size.
Greatest Weakness : Alcohol and women, the combination of good spirits and a beautiful woman have bestedTagerion several times.
Good/Bad habits: Tagerion is highly disciplined, but a Heavy drinker.
Biggest accomplishment: The Banishment of The Tanar'ri Prince - Gorgohut
Biggest regret : Tagerion's biggest regret was leading a scout party straight into a Duerger Ambush, of which few survived.
Mental Disturbance? None, Save for his growing dependence on alcohol.

Interpersonal Skills
Relation to others? Tagerion is a respected leader , known throughout his land as an adventurer and mercenary, and has the lead several parties and mercenary bands . He is loyal to the letter when he tells something will be done, and thus is easily trusted by others.
Perceived by others? Tagerion comes of as intimidating, being as massive and heavily armed as he is. His size has cowed proud diplomats and caused demons to hesitate..
What do others like? His comrades enjoy the sense of safety associated with Tagerion. They know that he would not hesitate to jump into a blade, or charge a Demon in order to protect them. At the same time, they fear his rashness, and know he he will seek out the greatest challenge, if time allows it.
What do others dislike? His Pride, Tagerion is often written off in a discussion because his unwavering stubborness, he will often times not even take a persons ideas into consideration if he doesnt deem them as the right thing.
Goals : Gold and Glory

... And you're going to find room for an assumingly Lawful Good human paladin in the Chaotic Evil racist drow underdark how? Not trying to sound mean at all, just practical. He's a nicely thrown together character, just not so much for this setting.

*hit the wikipedia for Torm*
"Torm is opposed to deities who are evil in alignment, including Cyric and Mask, but has a particular animosity towards Bane. [1] [11]"

Since you're a paladin, a CHAMPION of Torm no less... I don't understand where you'd be fitting in with the drow, who primarily follow Lolth and Kiaransalee here, who are most DEFINITELY "evil in alignment." I'm not seeing where you (or Vala) thought this character would work here?

-{Do you serve a purpose?}-

Its fun, to say the least.

I've played several Lawful good Characters in Underdark related themes, and I find much joy out of it. I dont intend to just run around destroying everything, that would be lame,a nd not interesting in the least bit.

The only hard part is getting an anchoring for my character to enter roleplays. The conflict is always good for a roleplay, it makes it so things dont ever get too stale. Most of the time, I end up working on behalf of the drow through my characters being extorted, blackmailed , kidnapped ,enslaved or whatnot, and my character justifies it as such

" If I'am killing Evil, for Evil, I'am still doing good, right?"

((Plus, it doesnt hurt my slight S/m fetish))

Just knowing the two heads of the cities (Matron Ulvira and Lord Val'atar) one would toss you to the spiders without a second thought, and I honestly don't see a paladin surviving in Au Shinduago. Especially with a Crusader to Vhaeraun living in the city.

Following that train of thought, Torm and Mask are mortal enemies, and half the population of the world think Mask and Vhaeraun are the same PERSON... god. So that's one person in Au Shinduago that would be out to gut you from the get go. The only solace you'd have there would be the Neutral Good druid... who's hiding behind his Vhaeraunite crusader cousin.

Bottom line, as nice as the character is, I don't think he fits in here. Ulorbbath is out of the question entirely, and Au Shinduago it would only be a matter of time before the crusader and her allies hunted you down. And honestly, a paladin would rather run himself through than serve the chaotic AND evil drow in any fashion.

-{Do you serve a purpose?}-

You did a fine job of obliterating my dreams of getting this paladin into the roleplay. Although I cant concede to it being impossible just yet. Not all Drow are Overly Evil ((Note, I dont know this guild, and you do, So I may be quite wrong in regards to this situation))

And even those that are "evil" are almost entirely made up of opportunist's. A heavily armored knight is not a common sight in the underworld, and surely there are mercenary groups/ rogue wizards / or even Houses that would see his unique abilities as something that could be advantageous. As per his personal actions, he knows where he is, and knows the folly in waging a war on an entire civilization. Even Paladins can compromise, and as long as he isnt witnessing sacrifices or flaying small children, he may be able to cast a blind eye while doing the Work of Torm.

Of course, as ever, I shall remain polite about it. I would like to hear from other members of this guild, as well as continuations of your opinion. I surely will not try to force in a character that a majority of the denizens dont want to see/roleplay with. That would be tacky and rude.

I'm not out to "obliterate hopes" so much as "keeping it real." A drow city (especially Lolthite) is going to have "sacrifices" abound, and the only child being played in UnderGaia already got flayed in his intro post. Val'atar just got done feeding a handful of human soldiers to a dragon just for his own amusement even after they surrendered without contest, and Matron Ulvira is feeding her own house to demons while forcing her own half-dragon weapon master to watch after she's starved him for days. And those are just the two head honchos, who you're going to have to deal with eventually; not the handful of 'other' people like the Vhaeraunite crusader and her mercenary company, the demons in House Rylinndar, the pair of homicidal crazies in Au Shinduago, the vampiric head of the church of Kiaransalee, etc.

No, not all drow are all evil, but most are enough to make any surface dweller try to run home.

That's why I suggested in your help thread to lurk the rp boards for a while. Personally, I would have suggested to do that before you joined a character just for this reason.

Now you can do whatever you want in the General RP boards, even starting an RP there that doesn't take place in the underdark or even have any drow in it. I'm just warning you that a human paladin probably won't survive in the drow cities.

Also: L'Olath Myar and Starless Sea are hopelessly inactive. The idea's starting to float around a bit in a couple of the mod's minds to just be rid of them, but our Admin's been MIA for a good month or two...

-{Do you serve a purpose?}-

I'am trying to find a happy compromise with you on this. I know full well the ins and out of my character ((I created him, after all)). As well as a fair amount of information on the Drow ((I wouldnt have joined this guild, or had a Drow guild of my own in the past if I didnt))

The Fact remains, Nothing is impossible in Roleplay. I never intended to run around screaming "Yarghh, Ye be evil, I smash!" My character has some intelligence and a sense of self-survival. He would simply be using the means at his disposal to get to an end.

As per his survival, exactly, I dont care what happens to him. Wether it is three posts until his death or several months real time, A roleplay is a roleplay, and I do it for the experience, as I said, I'am quite aware of Drow culture and customs.

I had every intention of playing him off as a mere warrior, hiding his Faith from those that could see. Granted Torm's protection, it would not be a great deed to shield himself mentally and divinitivly (sp?), hiding his alignment and intentions. If your so set in your ways, I could even simply change him to a Chaotic Neutral/Good Fighter, simply trying to make a coin in the underdarks, It doesnt matter to me, I just want to roleplay a character I enjoy.

As per your suggestion's for the General RP, that would do me no good whatsoever. I joined UnderGaia for UnderGaia Roleplays, if it doesnt take place in the Underdark , or entail one of my favorite Races, the Drow, then I'am not interested.

If your so stern in your convictions that you refuse to have me even attempt a roleplay, then I'll leave the guild, as I have no desire to argue about this much longer.

Angel didn't say that she wanted you to leave at all, we're just discussing how your character would fit here.

We really don't know what would happen to your character, until he actually joined the RP....how he reacts and so forth to the vile creatures here.

As far as my city goes, (and if you are wanting to join a house) Your best bet would be Gaundroth or Hun'Afin...they seem to be more lenient...

My character Ulvira; However, would eat your character ALIVE.....literally...she's a cannibal...>.>

I never said that I was barring you from doing anything, just trying to outline the complications ahead of time in its entirety so you have no surprises and trying to advise you in the direction I believe is best. If you want to put a lamb out to the slaughter then knock yourself out. I just wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't strongly advise you against it.

Now, I brought it up to one of my friends and she told me to have you PM her with any questions or anything, but she's on vacation out here so it might take her a little while to reply. Serethiel Maerukai or Val'atar Druugiir

Just point them here and ask their opinion on the matter and they'll tell you their honest opinion too. Val'atar's the best person to ask since he's been playing D&D for at least 20 years and knows the logistics of both the drow and this guild inside and out.

-{Do you serve a purpose?}-

I apologize if I may be coming off as a bit crass, I really am a nice person, I'am just slightly frustrated. I'am just trying to get something to anchor onto so that I can get some semblance of a roleplay.

As per being eaten alive, meh, it happens. A roleplay is a roleplay, if I get bit in half by a beholder or torn to shreds by a Yaun-ti, its only a character, I'll be perfectly fine here at my computer with a warm hot pocket in the microwave.

Thank you for pointing the directions towards their house, I'll send them a PM ASAP.

-{Do you serve a purpose?}-

I'am putting some thought into simply changing him to a warrior, that way its easier to simply play as a Slave/Strongarm for any house.

Would any of you be interested then? I'am just trying to get into a literate Roleplay as quickly as possible. And, being a Rivvil, I dont mind the occasional torture or mind games, after all, Its a Drow guild, so dont worry about doing what comes naturally to Drow.

Damnz...I just want to roleplay.

I'm sure that Qu'ellar Hun'afin's Captain of the Guard might be able to use a good swordarm...though you'll definitely have to prove yourself extremely useful, lest you be seen as little more than fodder.

Also, you might have to deal with a certain half-devil warlock on a regular basis.

If you could mention Something to Veldrin, I would be happy to speak about it. I'am just looking for any opening I can get my hands on, and would be willing to alter my character in order to accommodate.
