R o y a l .. L i n e s .. a n d .. L e v e l i n g So you think your King or Queen is ready to become a full fledged Royal? Well, before you do anything here, you're going to have to read through this thread to make sure your checklist is complete. Only then may you apply for your King or Queen to made on to royal lines.
This isn't going to be an easy process, so if you aren't fully confident in your application, then you're most likely going to be rejected. The staff of Pride Lands will be taking these lines very seriously - they are and will ONLY be for those who are dedicated role players within the shop and guilds.
So please, even if you aren't ready for Royal lines yet, feel free to look over and understand all of the information I'm about to tell you because it will be important in the future.

T h e .. R u l e s These rules will not be taken lightly! I am going to post these now and I really hope I won't have to repeat myself. There are no exceptions what-so-ever when it comes to the rules of theses lines. They are here to make sure everything it being conducted fairly and only those who deserve them are receiving them. So please, understand the following! G e n e r a l
These lines are not and will NEVER be available as customs. These lines will be super rare and only allowed to those who have dedicated themselves to their lions, pride, and role playing abilities. If I hear ONE request or comment about trying to get a royal as a custom, punishment will occur.
You may never use these lines as if your lion is a God. They are simply a true King or Queen and wield no special powers or abilities except for what they previously had
Do not complain about them! I don't care if your friend, your enemy, or anyone else just their lion colored on shiny new lines, whining about it will get you NO WHERE!
If you have a King that is ready for royal lines, but his Queen is not, you do not have to wait! It would be nice to see them "Royal up" together, but you shouldn't have to wait if she's not very active and far behind in levels

Getting your lion on to new lines and then deciding that it's okay for your pride to die off is extremely unacceptable! If this becomes the case, we WILL take away the privilege
If the staff notices a drastic decrease in the activity of your pride after obtaining lines, we will send out a warning to the owners of the King and Queen
After this warning, you have exactly one month to get things moving again.
If there is still very little to no activity, the staff will 'take away' the lines. This means that all pictures, journal images, pride images, etc must be removed until we give the lines back to you
If you are active and we continue to see you use the royal lines within your signature, journal, pride, etc, a gray or blacklist will be given
Of course, there are, believe it or not, a few exceptions to this - if owners of the royals lose their internet, are going away on vacation, get grounded, etc, then and only then will we be lenient. It is completely understandable that real life events sometimes get in the way with Gaia and we're not going to punish anyone for that. However, if we see you actively participating within other areas of the shop (main thread, guild, events), these exceptions will be voided
A p p l i c a t i o n s
In order to be eligible to get your King/Queen on royal lines, your lion must meet all of the requirements prior to application (requirements are explain further on in this thread)
You may only apply for royal lines once and month. Even if you have another lion ready for royalness, you must wait!
You MUST apply for lines in order to be considered or receive them
A staff member has the right to turn down an application if they don't believe your lion is ready
If rejected, you may re-apply again within one month. Why? Because we want all applications to be thoroughly thought out before people even think about submitting them. There shouldn't be any sort of rush to get these lines, that's not what this is about. So to prevent someone from rushing a battle or role play in order to fix what they missed and re-apply, we're making you wait a month, meaning you have no choice but to take your time
There is no limit as to how many times you can re-apply, however, if you're continuously getting rejected, you should probably rethink what you've been doing

So, remember how most everyone hated the stats? Well, you're in luck if you were one of them! Instead of having percentage stats that could only be used in battle, we're implementing a "level" type system instead. A b o u t
Levels are number based statistics used to determine how much your King/Queen has role played
The highest level your lion can achieve is a level 10
They can be obtained through all types of role play within the pride guild: battling, single role play, multiple role play, etc
You do not have to battle in order to level up. Unlike the original stat idea, we're giving everyone the chance to get their lion on royal lines simply through intensive role play
You can only level up THREE times a month!
H o w
There are a few different ways to level up your King/Queen:
Starting a pride subforum
Battling
General role play within your pride
Special pride-based games
L e v e l s .. of .. L e v e l s
General Role Play - it takes five completed and well composed role plays in order to level up one level. By role playing within your pride subforum, any completed and logged role plays can count towards your level count. These could be role plays between your mate, pride members, cubs, enemies, or multiple pride members.
Battling - a winning battle counts for two role plays and a losing battle counts as one. So if your lion had three completed role plays and won a battle, he/she could level up because now he/she has five! Battles must be finished and well composed, stating the winner, the loser, and what resulted
Starting a subforum - in starting a pride subforum and registering your pride, your King/Queen is automatically a level 1
Special Games - every-so-often, the staff of Pride Lands may hold little mini games here within the Prides Guild for some easy perks and maybe even levels

These lines were made by the one and only Rev, our original and only Pride Lands lineartist!
There are only two sets of lines, a male and a female
For Kings and Queen of a rare species (solar, lunar, fire, etc), Kaoru has taken on the task of editing both sets of lines to give them their rare attributes (wings, horns, feathers, flakes, etc)
These lions will be edited to match edited lions

Well, they're sexy
They are super rare, giving you bragging rights and all that =P
They act almost like elder lines, giving other lions the impression that your Royal has been around for quite sometime and knows what's up
If you chose to participate in battle, Royals automatically have an advantage over other lions that challenge he/she
A roleplay required breeding with the Royal's mate will usually result in a fourth cub

A p p l y i n g .. F o r .. R o y a l .. L i n e s So you really think you're ready for these lines? Well, don't get your hopes up just yet. All the information you are about to read is required and must be met before you even think about getting a lion done on these lines. R e q u i r e m e n t s
Your applying lion must have an active pride that is over a year old since its start
Prides back at the old guild do count for the one year's time, but you also need to have a pride subforum here in this guild that's fully functional and active
Your lion must be a level 10 in order to even be considered. This means a lot of time and effort went into role playing and your pride subforum is healthy. You must also show proof of the role plays that entitled you to become that level
You should have at least made an appearance within the shop, possibly attempted to role play with others outside of your pride
More will be added as we see fit
S h o u l d .. K n o w s
Your royal MUST be colored by your original colorist! If the original colorist of your lion is no longer available, WE will decide who colors your royal. You are NOT allowed to request because this is simply unfair to both the colorist and everyone else. Anyone who requests or even makes the slightest hint as to what colorist they want will face consequences. This is just rude!
You do not have to participate in battles in order to be eligible, however you leveled up works fine

If your application has been declined in having your lion colored on royal lines, I'm assuming it was for a very reasonable reason. However, staff members don't always understand the full story, so if you feel you have been wronged, here are some things to think about/do. W h y
If your application was denied, it was probably because of the following:
Your lion is not a level 10
Your pride is currently inactive
You have a graylist/blacklist within the shop
Your role plays were too short, unfinished, or too inadequate/rushed to be considered/counted
You asked for custom royal lines
You've been warned with god-modding or breakage of any of the pride rules
It hasn't been a month since you last applied/re-applied for royal lines If you find yourself stuck in one of the above reasons, appealing will only make things worse for you
A p p e a l i n g
If you still feel as though you were wrongly declined, then you may private message -PL- Prides with your appeal
You MUST provide a good, logical and understandable (commas please!) reason for your appeal. I do not want to receive messages such as "I think I RPed enough, thanks." Don't be afraid of writing too much, more is better. We want to know and see that you care
Appeals will always be discussed with the staff as a whole, so if your appeal is declined, do NOT argue the case. If the entire staff agrees that you do not deserve the lines, then you obviously do not. It won't kill you to RP for another month before getting your lines anyway :/

I understand some of the things about Royals can be confusing, so I've set up an FAQ's post in this thread for you just in case I can answer some questions you may have. If you are still confused about something after reading everything in this thread, feel free to post your question here. Will trial comes error, so please, let us know if we're missing something! Why can't my lion just be put on the royal lines? Anyone who asks this will seriously be kicked out of this guild. But to answer the question in a mature manner, you must work for something such as Royal lines. And by work, I mean role play. These lines aren't just another set of lines you can get through customs, they are a reward for the dedicated, role playing regulars here in the shop
What if the pride happens to die after the lines are received? As in the owner still wants to RP but the others are not really into it? Well, I doubt this would ever really happen unless it was the King/Queen themselves that stopped role playing. However, in a freak case that it does, the owner of pride would have to discuss what's going on with a staff member and possibly make an effort to get some new members
You won't go super nazi on us if RL pops up right? Nope! If I know the situation and you've made it clear that you'll be gone for whatever the reason may be, we will be very lenient in allowing you to keep your lines
What if my net crashes and there really is no way of me announcing it? I don't want to get the lines I worked for taken away! Obviously if you're not on Gaia at all, meaning you haven't logged in, haven't been posting, haven't been on a messenger, people haven't seen you, etc, we will assume you're net has crashed or something really bad has happened. We will NOT take away lines for this reason. Taking away lines will more so tend to happen to those who are still active in the thread or other parts of Pride Lands/Gaia, but haven't been paying attention to their prides
What if we are just a little slow with updating our journals or just forget to change the images if they are taken away? If we do not see removal of the image within a week of taking the lines away, a staff member will be messaging you to remind you. After that, you have another five days to remove them before punishment is dealt
How often will games be? Well, we cannot play pride games every single week because if we're giving away level ups as prizes, it defeats the purpose of role playing for the lines. So maybe a couple of times a month depending on how busy the staff is :3
Whoo fourth cub! But do both parents have to be royal? Nope, a royal that mates WITH HIS MATE (Queen) will have a very high chance in receiving a 4th cub through the breeding without the Queen being on royal lines.
What if my royal breeds with another female that is not his mate? If he breeds with another female that is not his Queen, we will consider this OOC and you will only get two cubs. However, if you claim a RPR slot with this other female and provide the role plays for the reason in doing the breeding, you will get the two cubs with the high chance of getting a third (as explain in the breeding subforum of the other guild), but NOT a fourth
If a royal male steps down for a son or daughter to take over, do they still have the lines? Yes! Retiring is sometimes how things occur in the wild and would make for some great role playing. As long as your royal is still an active member within the pride after retirement, he/she will stay on his/her lines
Can you start leveling up as a cub? No, only Kings and Queens of prides that have a subforum can level up. If you feel the need to record the cub's role plays in your journal or something with a thought of him/her becoming a King or Queen someday, then we encourage that. It cannot be used to level up, however
If you trade prides (as a result of a battle or something) do the RPies follow? Well, any type of role playing that you completed within a pride will always be counted towards your leveling. Just because you got your pride taken away in battle doesn't mean everything you've role played before that just disappears. You did for all that, so yeah XD
