There were times when Sellion stopped to sit in the grass and just ceased to think. He would plant himself firmly in the ground and stare blankly ahead, mouth open as if he were dead where he sat. Now was one of those times.
The burning sun of the afternoon played through the trees of the jungle and dappled the black and pink cheetah, making him appear unusually colorful and sparkly. But Sellion was unaware of this. Sellion was unaware of anything as he sat completely still, just staring...
Then there was a noise.
Jumping to his feet, Sellion's eyes were wide with paranoia as he scanned his surroundings. Nothing behind him...Nothing in front. OH, GODS. TO THE SIDES, THE SIDES--No, nothing. Sighing, the cheetah sat down again and sneered.
"Filthy ghosts. Filthy demon ghosts." he cursed, eyes shooting death glares at seemingly no one. "I will not be fooled. I am SELLION, soon-to-be-ruler of the WORLD!" he bellowed, suddenly on his feet again. With a triumphant giggle, Sellion sprinted into the jungle trees, tripping over vines and logs on his way. After a while, there was a large, black log lying directly in Sellion's path. For whatever reason, the cheetah didn't see it. And so he tripped over it, somersaulting several times until he skidded to a stop on his chin. Groaning in pain, Sellion stayed where he was, sprawled out on his stomach. His eyes winced with pain and shifted to look above him.
He found himself eye-to-eye with an extremely colorful leopardess.

With a mind as fragile as a butterfly yet naturally chaotic much like the restless and churning surface of the restless sea, it would seem that a sense of boredom had caused the leopardess to venture out into the thick jungles. Although many refugees of the shadows used its domain primarily to hide themselves it would seem that, unfortunately, nature was far from kindly in helping such a creature blend in. Jae was brilliantly eye blinding and yet such an array of colors and markings on her coat seemed to only not warn those who even thought of coming in contact with her but repel them from the toxicity of her mind and manners. She was a wild one! Restless and oblivious, dumbfounded and dense although quite a clever creature; nature had certainly unleashed a well suited crazy upon the land- perhaps leaving others cursing whatever deity or entitiy let her loose. While the day seemed to be passing her by slowly, Jae was to herself and occupied within her own mind.
Her tail was curled around her body while eyes seemed to droop. A small, tired smile seemed to slink across her maw as her gaze stretched outward into the shadows. As it would seem that the surrounding area was empty, Jae silently occupied herself with a small laugh, a giggle of sorts, as she yawned tiredly- forepaws stretching out before her as she blinked several times. The cool shade made her feel safe and especially with the unseen butterflies fluttering about it was a safe haven. Within such a scattered mind it was there where imaginary creatures, objects and even events seemed to take place for a single audience, amused by her own hallucinations and mind tricks which had only given more life to such frequent events. Dull, black orbs remained half lidded as the leopardess twitched her nostrils and flicked her ears before shifting her paws as if to knead them against the ground.
"Sleeepysleeepytiiiiiiired," she yawned once more, her voice soft and trailing with little effort if only to strain toward the end. For a leopardess who often roamed best at night, the mid afternoon often seemed to keep her second wind at bay until nightfall. But the sudden explosion of foot fall adorned with a rolling creature of pink and black suddenly caused the leopardess to crane her head while her jaw simply dropped.
What was this? It would seem as if her second wind arrived! Curiosity churned within her veins as she stumbled to her paws, tip toeing ever so daintily toward the strange creature that was sprawled out in disarray. She gleed- almost squealing as she lowered her head down to eye level with the silly thing. For a moment her mouth only rounded out to an 'o' shape as she stared at it, slowly lifting a paw before she poked at it several times. "ooooooooooh," she awed, gawking with a brimming need to examine such a strange thing! It was the oblivious nature which evaded the fact that this lanky, strange thing was a cheetah but her mind seemed to insist that it was certainly something much more magical. Cheetahs were plain but this- this thing was pink! "LOOKITTHEPONY!" She squeed, closing her eyes as her head tilted to the side, tail nearly thumping upon the ground with joy before she scooted behind the misconstrued cheetah and took its tail in her mouth.
With no need to glance back, Jae began to drag the 'pony' behind her as she pranced, bobbing up and down while paws bounced from off the ground.
"Ponyponyponypony..."

Sellion screamed a loud, piercing, girlish scream. His claws dug into the ground, tearing up earth as he was dragged along by the insanely-bright leopardess, body bouncing up and down with her insane prancing. Sellion's mind was a flurry of fast-paced thoughts. He contemplated, quite seriously contemplated, life and death in that moment. Was he going to die? Was his tail going to be ripped from his own bum? Was his entire mission to be foiled? Would he never become a true demon? Would he never see his beloved sister again? Was he to die by the teeth and claws of some...some...random FEMALE?
NOOO.
Head jerking forward and eyes flashing with a sudden determination, Sellion dug his claws deeper into the ground to stop himself. He was successful. The cheetah kicked out his back feet in an attempt to assail the leopardess. He failed miserably, and his back paws flailed wildly in the air completely away from the female's face. But Sellion had no idea. Even though he couldn't feel his feet impacting the female's face, in his mind he was doing much, much damage to her. He felt his tail leave the teeth of the leopardess. But he kept kicking anyway.
Once he felt he had done enough, Sellion grinned in "triumph" and stood. He turned around slowly, regally, to face the multi-colored leopardess. When he found she looked rather unharmed, indeed the same as she had looked only moments ago, he raised a brow quizzically.
...Why was she staring at him in such a way?
. . .
OHHH! Yessss...Yessss...!
She realized his power.
Of course, OF COURSE. Sellion was the very essence of evil and strength and cunning and wonder and...Amazingness. It was so completely and utterly obvious that anyone would be able to see just what Sellion was with one simple glance. Why hadn't the conclusion come to his mind from the start? Hah-ha~...Hm, well that was enough of that.
"Good day," Sellion greeted, pink eyes staring plainly into black ones. He flashed a charming smile and raked the tangled mess of hair away from his eyes with his unkempt claws. He bulked out his shoulders and quirked his eyebrows to appear handsome and appealing. Unfortunately, he ended up looking like a rather lanky, insane bulldog with something stuck in its throat. "I see you've...noticed me..." It was a strange thing to say, but Sellion was a strange cheetah, Of course, he didn't think that. To him, everyone else was insane. He was the perfect one; the supreme being. But that didn't mean he was the only supreme being...There were others who he deemed worthy to join him on his quest to rule the world. Perhaps this leopardess was such a one? She possessed bright, flashing colors; true signs of power, he was sure, for his father had possessed every color the rainbows held in the sky. And Sellion knew his father had been very...Very strong.
Forgetting about what had just occurred between him and the leopardess, Sellion decided then and there...That she would join his cause.
"I am Sellion," the black and pink cheetah introduced in a sultry voice. And then he waited for her to introduce herself. Because that's what happened when one introduced oneself, right? And of course the leopardess was going to casually introduce herself and join him then and there, quite simply.
Right?

A disconjointed, rattled mind seemed to whirl in a flurry of thoughts while the prancing from paw to paw seemed more boisterous. Jae beamed, her expression appearing as if it would soon stretch far beyond the boundaries of her face while her jaws vigilantly held tight to the cheetahs tail. Finding such a bright object, such a magnificent pony was a blessing- no, a treat! Somewhere in between her eyes and mind it was clear that the leopardess was far from sane or rather what constituted an equine was being severely confused with that of a petite cheetah. But regardless Jae's unbridled happiness was unleashing a flood of puffy clouds, rainbows, fluffy creatures and grass to consume her mind in a happy fit. Illuminated, black orbs glanced excitedly from place to place as they were unable to concentrate or focus for too long on each object; rock, tree, grass, clouds, toes, nose- it all was exciting!
Simple things, ordinary things, could be so exciting and full of fun if ones mind would see them how they really were. Although, granted, most probably didn't see such objects dancing with happy faces and waving themselves around in a shameless, fun provoking manner. Such a thing was an easy lure for the leopardess to become consumed by irrationality, a constant companion of hers along with insanity and a prevalent oblivious nature. But as she continued bouncing along, something seemed to cause her movement to strain. Somehow the pony behind her felt heavy!
Clamping down harder on its tail, Jae tried to move forward as she gritted her jowls and grunted. "Moooooooove feet mooooooooove!" With even forgetting of the tail between her teeth, Jae began gnawing upon it fervently with frustration. "I SAID MOOOOOVE!"
But such a command was ignored as she glanced back to the pony, blinking as somewhere in between her oblivious state she hadn't even realized that it had escaped. How? Was this pony magical? How else could she explain it as the pony-creature was now standing beside her...
No, he was standing too close to her!
"STRANGER DANGER!" She shrieked, backing several steps away from the cheetah as her tail wrapped protectively around her and her special parts were all but blocked off. Her mother had certainly taught her well! Never trust a strange creature- it always lead to bad things! Trying to protect what sacred and special-ness still resided with her, Jae scooted back toward a lone tree behind her and snuck behind it. Perhaps he wouldn't see her or maybe she could simply blend in like a chameleon and make this danger go away! She wasn't sure. She was scared and frantic. The pretty pony had now become a perky predator.
Throwing her paws upward while claws dug into the bark of the tree, Jae shimmied up with a scoot and hugged the tree. From what she deemed a safe height of two feet off the ground, the leopardess watched the other with wide eyes.
Between a now chaotic and scared mind whose mentality was protecting her goodies to trying to remember survival techniques without fail, Jae hadn't quite paid attention to the other. From staring at him with dilligence she only saw his lips move while sounds around her blended together. The charming smile he flashed made her cringe, ears flattening against her head as she whimpered. Where was her brother? Her family? Anyone? It was one of those moments where she wished a strange creature or object would simply topple over the scary pony-creature and crush him so greatly that he would surrender! Of course at the same time she also hoped that after being crushed he'd somehow find a way from under the object which crushed him and attempted to stand although in a very flattened and smooshed appearance. Because that's what happened when one was smashed, right? You could still be alive?
Perhaps that was only in the females skewed mentality.
But even the thought of such a thing caused Jae to giggle for a moment before reminding herself that this was a bad pony-thing! Before long a rather serious and unamused expression defined itself against her maw.
"Baaaaad," she growled, attempting to sound as intimidating as possible although it seemed more of a rumbling, happy sound than anything. But what was that? It has a name? Knitting her brows together, Jae stared.
"BAD SELLIE!"

Tail pulsating with pain from his previous physical encounter with the bright-colored leopardess, Sellion inched towards her, not realizing he was causing her mental anguish. But even if he had realized this, he probably wouldn't have been clever enough to care. But any and all thoughts traveling through his mind ceased in an instant at the sight of the female climbing the tree.
Jaw dropping wide and pink eyes bulging, the cheetah gaped, astounded by what he was seeing. In his life, the male had seen quite a few leopards climb trees. The trouble was, after he had seen them perform this act, he would forget about it entirely only minutes later. So seeing the leopardess climb the tree in that moment was as if seeing it for the first time. It was strange, frightening, scary, INSANE, and completely impossible. But more than anything, it showed that this female...
POSSESSED GREAT POWER.
Body writhing as a lengthy giggle shuddered out of him, the black and pink male circled the tree, eying the leopardess gleefully, wanting to the point of pain that she would come down and stand before him. Would she join him if he asked? Would such a bright, demonic, powerful, strong female possibly join his cause? Would she? Merely by him asking? It seemed...Delusional to even wonder such a thing. It made the male feel almost blasphemous. But even that feeling gave Sellion pleasure, and he continued to grin.
The words and actions of the female filled Sellion with excitement, and he knew he had to have her for his "army". He wanted her among his demonic ranks, fighting to rule the world with him. He HAD to have her.
Rusted wheels of his mind turning, the cheetah tried to decipher a way to convince such a wondrous being to follow him. It wouldn't be simple. Maybe he had to...Show her his power? Or...No...Give her something she wanted? Oh, yes, gifts...Giffffts....What did she want, this leopard? What did she want for her own? He would've given her the moon if it would satisfy her and convince her to follow him.
Ignoring the comment of "bad Sellie", the cheetah cleared his throat and backed off a little, sitting down to be less intimidating.
"Would you..." the cheetah began, still unsure of what to say. "Would you like me to get you something? Is there..." His pink eyes flickered over her face, having absolutely no idea of what his offer would mean to the leopardess. "Is there anything you want?"

Black orbs widened, following the cheetah's every move as he came closer. She shimmied again up several inches while claws latched deeper into the trunk of the tree as her tail wriggled and swayed in a confused, pitter-patter and irritated demeanor. She was thinking the worst now; this cheetah-pony was certainly going to hurt her and steal her goodies, no- he would take her stash of shiny objects she had collected! If there was ever a great downfall which would bring the leopardess to her paws, it was the sight of something shiny. Like a magpie Jae was lured to them and unable to resist them. Something about that brilliantly, blinding shine which seemed to cause her to cease from staring. Even as her retinas felt as if they would simply be set a-blaze, Jae was helpless and couldn't refrain from looking.
Looking back at the cheetah, Jae's bottom lip quivered as she imagined all of her treasures being taken.
"Shiniiiiiiiies," she whined with a mumble under her breath.
But even before she could think about her hoarded treasure, the strange cheetah seemed to open his maw wide. Was he yawning? Maybe he was bored! If she kept this up then he'd be gone in no time! Jae fiercely gripped the tree, wrapping herself around it as she silently stared at the cheetah with wide eyes. Although it seemed that the spots of brilliant pink also were somewhat mystifying and caused her to lose her focus if for a moment. Black and pink, pink and black. Another weakness of hers was certainly bright colors- just like shiny objects it was colors of a blinding nature that brought her to her paws. But even she had her boundaries and it seemed that the cheetah before her was a little too bright.
After a long several minute exposure of staring, Jae closed her eyes. "Too bright... brightbrightbrightbrightbright!" It was a whining strain as her head shook side to side. "VERYBRIGHTSELLIE!"
Oblivious and only concerned with the well being of her retinas, or perhaps what was left of them, Jae withdrew her paws from around the tree and flung them to her face before she flopped down upon her rump. Still vigilantly, the leopardess covered her eyes. Although at the same time she was within a closer proximity of stranger danger and, again, the leopardess suddenly slapped her paws down in front of her while her eyes squeezed shut.
But such a feat didn't last too long.
Like a suddenly awakened cub, Jae's eyes opened as her ears perked upward. She blinked several times as she stared toward the cheetah. He was- he was offering to get her something? For a moment she pursed her lips, unsure if that's how all danger began; a simple offer, acceptance and then having something stolen. But this didnt' compute! This was... this was fun almost. She could ask for anything and he would get it?
Oh the possibilities!
Jae bit down on her lower lip as her black orbs darted from place to place in an indecisive manner.
"thereissomethingiwant," she whispered, a bit skittish as she glanced around. Looking back toward the cheetah, the leopardess gave a slight lopsided grin as she scooted a bit closer to him.
"...."

Something strange was occurring...
Something...ODD.
And Sellion LIKED it.
A devilish gleam smoldered in Sellion's pink eyes, and he gazed at the leopardess, roaming over her features. It was then that the cheetah realized this leopardess was, well, a LEOPARDESS, and he was, well...NOT.
Jagged, unkempt claws reaching up to comb his tangled mess of curly hair, Sellion cleared his throat, trying to seem more suave. The hair on his back bristled with nervousness and he gave the female a sly smile through a glance. There was a chip of old Katydid carapace stuck between two of his fangs, but Sellion didn''t know this. If he did, he didn't care.
To anyone else, the sight of this cheetah was the epitome of UN-attractiveness. Everyone he did to make himself more appealing was making him completely and utterly the opposite. But Sellion had no idea. He never did. And whether that was a good thing or a bad thing was up to whatever individual saw him. Beauty was in the eye of the beholder, after all.
It wasn't every day that an insanely-attractive female sauntered over to him telling him they wanted something from him. Actually, it wasn't ANY day. Ever. Which, if you asked the male, was astounding, because he held himself in high esteem. He thought he was the most handsome and desirable male in all of Africa, and flaunted that fact openly to anyone and everyone if the situation called for it. He had seen more than one pretty lady in his life, and had had a few lucky times...But never before had he been face to face with a female who had approached HIM. It was usually the other way around.
So this was quite a delightful change of pace...
Tongue flicking over his teeth briefly, Sellion grinned and raised an eyebrow. "You...Want something?" he asked under his breath, tail curling around his body where he sat. "And what might that be?" he asked seductively.

Even still Jae continued to blink once, then twice and several times over and over again. She was oblivious and confused but at the same time it seemed much of a game and something fun! Her head tilted slightly to the side while her tail thumped upon the ground and slithered with a wriggling pulsation. What she wanted was something different, something which would make herself feel proud and accomplished! Perhaps something that would make her parents, wherever they were, proud of her or something that her brother, Jero would be happy about! More often than not Jae was always making mistakes or getting in trouble which led to her brothers anger and restless nature; he was too old to be her babysitter and she was too old to need one. But maybe this- this would solve everything! Innocent, black eyes held a small gleam as they glanced toward the cheetah- body scooting again an inch or two closer.
She was no judge of character nor could decipher attractive from unattractive, good from bad, clean from dirty- her mentality often didn't require her to be so picky or hold so many requirements. For Jae there was no bar nor standard- for what were standards? And what was a bar? It seemed even as she was silently thinking to herself that even still crazy things plauged her mind with obscurities and strange thoughts!
But that was typical or at least expected when ones mind was skewed and left a stray.
If there were onlookers around, one perhaps would assume that the leopardess was rather blind- no, perhaps completely blind as to how she had found herself, or could endure, being near such a cheetah. But perhaps in this case it boiled down to the bright colors being a sucker punch and a magnet for the leopardess; it was a weakness much like all things shiny to a magpie. On the other paw, it could be argued or debated that she wasn't even in her right mind to be thinking this way but, secretly, one would be surprised what was hidden away behind the innocent eyes of the leopardess. She wasn't all that innocent, truly, but that was left to be exposed at another time!
This was... different. Or at least Jae felt as if that this was strange but in a good, fun way! Things that were exciting were yet another weakness of hers and it seemed that this was fun. There was no stranger danger here for she had long crossed that boundary.
This was something much more.
As he asked again, Jae rose to her paws and pranced around him as her tail flicked and brushed under his chin. She didn't need to say much but simply offered a small giggle and a grin before she began to slowly prance her way into the deeper thickets and brush of the outer jungles. The Savannah was too open and Jae had always been a fan of the shadows and cooler temperatures- that's where the majority of her unseen, imaginary invalids romped about and where her happiness seemed to flourish in a disjointed, illusioned sort of way.
"Follow, follow, follow, Sellie," she winked. Her voice was soft and teasing as she sunk into the thick foilage backwards as only her head remained visible and surrounded by leaves and a green array.
If as a lasting impression, she giggled and quickly withdrew herself behind a tapestry of vegetation and lush greenery.

The tail-brush-under-the-chin technique was almost too much for Sellion to bear. He giggled strangely and rose to his feet, anticipating following the leopardess before she even addressed him.
It was definitely a good day, however strange. And putting aside the fact that Sellion didn't even know this leopardess's name, he was going to be far too occupied to even care. Actually, occupied or not, he wouldn't have cared anyway. Sellion had forgotten about names. What was a name, anyway?
Where was he, again...?
OH.
Lips twitching into a smirk at the female's wink, Sellion followed the girl into the underbrush, disappearing into the earthy colors. And then he, and the leopardess, were completely gone from sight.
What happened that day would probably be forgotten after a few hours. But one thing was for sure...
The world would never be the same.
