The day had been hot like most days and the suns rays slapped it's heat across the planes without mercy. Of course the princess wasn't used to such heat and so she kept out of sight during the entirety of the day. It was when the sun had come to set that she left her shelter to explore more of her new home. Though she was distracted with most of the sights because she was so busy humming a sweet little tune. Time had flown by with her noticing and now she found herself looking up at the stars admiring their beauty.

"I'm not saying that 'I'm never going to go back.' Atora..." The Prince was arguing as they spiraled down from the heavens, he landing gently in the mist-dampened grass. His tiny advisor perched in his mane.
"Because one never knows what the future holds... I'm just saying I do not wish to return at this time just so Father can turn me into the perfect new King... I don't want that life."
"But is a Safe life!" The mouse argued back passionately, her sweet voice sharp with worry. "Master would be safe in his pride, with warriors and friends! Not running about with barbarians and hyenas and stars knows what else!"

As she watched the heavens above her with great intrest, she took note of a brilliant light that seemed to be falling from the sky. Her eyes widened in wonder and quickly she closed her eyes tight to make a wish upon the suspected falling star. It was a simple wish, one that any female who craved the love of another would make. Her wish was to meet a kind male whom she could feel safe a wanted with. A male that she could love.
When she opened her eyes the "star" was no where to be seen. She smiled almost sadly. To make such childish wishes was a waste of time. In order for her to really find the kind of male she envisioned, he would have to come from the heavens itself. Now Aurora wasn't shallow in the least, but there was something that she was looking for. She couldn't tell you exactly what it was but she knew it when she saw it. Sad thing was, most lions just didn't have this thing.

"I like that part of it though, Atora!" He was trying to reason with his little advisor, because she cared for him a great deal. And they had been through much together. He didn't want to just railroad right over her, he valued her opinions. Sometime her fears kept them out of trouble...
"I like the surprises." He was trying to convince her there was good in the Pride Lands, in the unclaimed lands there was a wild beauty, in the wanderers a wisdom no Prides had. "I like the sites and the sounds and the strangers we meet that bear tales of distant lands and far-off seas..."
"But the hyenas.. And the mean wanderers... And the evil kings.. And the nightmares and the hunters and the scavengers!" She shivered and skittered up through his mane to n** his ear. "Bad SCARY things!"
"But not everything is bad." He sighed as they rounded a thrusting formation of rock. Not far off was a female, shimmering in shades of blue and pink not unlike those on his wings. "Oh... Hello, My Lady. Forgive me for intruding upon your solitude.."

His voice pulled her from her thought and had her looking for it's owner. She didn't have to long either and when her eyes met his form she couldn't help but stare. He was beautiful. His eyes were as yellow as the sun, mane as blue as the never ending sky and his wings and tail feathers as brilliant as the sight of a rising or setting sun. Realizing that she was staring, she looked away for a breif moment before looking at him again.
"The space is not my own. All are welcome to it." She gave him a sweet smile before continuing. "My name is Aurora...and you are?"

He smiled at her. She looked lovely -like the perfect Princess- with gold of sunshine in her hair... And the gown she wore -not unlike he had seen others wear- was the soft shades of sky and blossoms... She was lovely. As lovely as the golden circlet atop her head.
He bowed again, low and sweeping. Wings flared out to either side with a flick of his sunrise-shaded tailfeathers. It was graceful and dramatic, but then, he had always had a flair for that sort.. And a beautiful woman?
"A pleasure to meet you Aurora, and if I am intruding, merely say so, Lovely Lady. I am Kaelian, and this is my advisor, Atora."
Atora peeked at the lioness and smiled. "Lady."

"It is a pleasure to meet the two of you as well and trust me you aren't intruding. Your company is welcomed a great deal. You face doesn't look familiar...you don't around these parts often do you?"

He smiled, though it was somewhat self-deprecating. "I am a recent addition to the wanderers of the Pride Lands... I left my Pride in the mountains as a Teen, and came to see the world, such as it is..."
He gestured to the mountains with a wingtip, not wanting to let his gaze linger there too long. His mother he missed... His siblings... But not his father.
Not really...
"And you, My Lady? You do not seem like you are too comfortable here, if I may say so... Is there aught I may do to ease your mind."

"Oh it's not that I feel uncomfortable. I am just simply deep in thought. I've been searching for the right male to bring into my life and alas I am having no luck. They just don't seem to possess what it is I'm looking for and it's so hard to put a name to it." She paused for a moment only to sigh.
"I apologize. I shouldn't be spilling my problems to you. I'm sure you have your own worries to deal with."

He relaxed slightly as soon as she said she was not uncomfortable. If there was one thing the Prince in him hated, it was to see a female in distress. Deep in thought? That was something he understood all too well...
"No dear Lady." He smiled kindly. "If I might ease your heart by hearing it's wishes, by all means, say them unto me. It is my dearest desire to listen."
Atora stared at her master. He spoke as smoothly as the courtly Prince he had sworn to shed and leave behind. It was not Kael's wish to rule another's life and destiny... He simply wanted to be master of his own. In his sire's Pride, that was not an option, so he had left.
Now this lady -obviously a Princess in her own right- had him acting with all the noble grace she had ever admired. Thinking this female would be all too good for Kaelian, the mouse curled in his mane, smiling kindly.

"You're far too kind, so different compared to the other males I've seen that walk the lands. If you don't mind my saying, and I don't mean to come off as forward but, well you are just so beautiful. It's like the starry heavens just sent you down to me in my time of need."
She gave the two of them a light hearted chuckle. "I think I'll tell you of my problems another time. I'd rather hear of what bothers you. Though you do not show in on the outside, I sense frustration coming from you."

Kaelian smiled slightly, fluffing and resettling his wings as he considered her. In his mind it would ever be considered a gesture of friendship and love to extend one's wing and curl it around another.. But it was also one of understanding and the unspoken offer to be one's shelter in a time of need.
Not something you did hardly knowing someone, much less them not understanding what the gesture meant. That was the best way to get a paw in the face, he was sure... Still... She called him beautiful...
"I thank you kindly, Lady Aurora... But it is hardly gentlemanly to discuss one's trivial troubles when a lovely female is in distress. I will not have such an atrocity on my record, I beg of you, tell me your sorrows. As for the rest... I am not one of these lands, I am from the mountains far off... I do not know how it is proper to act here, but it is proper to be rude to lovely ladies, I shall never do so."
He smiled and moved closer, tapping her chin with the point of one wing. "Now, tell me, what ails thine heart?"

"The mountains eh? Must be wonderful to be so high up and near the heavens. I must say that not even I know the code of conduct around here. I've witnessed so many acts of conduct, both good and bad. So I believe that it is safe to assume that the best code of conduct to follow is what you feel is appropriate. If someone takes offense then you can use that as a learning tool."
She fell silent for a moment, considering her thoughts and what she was to say next. 'Hardly gentlemanly to discuss one trivial troubles when a lovely female is in distress.' He was such a sweetheart.
"Nor would it be very lady like for me to ignore the troubles that sink their claws into those around me. So please, tell me of your troubles. Perhaps I could help you."

Kaelien nodded as she echoed the name of his homeland, unable to quell the impulsive glance in the direction of that place. His mouth tugged in a mirthless smirk but he quickly wiped it away, returning his attentions to her. "It was a beautiful place to live, but I find there is beauty in these land as well..."
He trailed off as he listened to her speak of the fact she did not know the code either, nodding slightly. Always would he err on the side of caution, for there were many prides and the like in these lands, and each had different customs and values.
At her retort, he chuckled. "A fiercely direct and persistant lady, it seems you are..."
His smile was genuine and eyes alight with amusement. "Fear not madam... They truly are trivial things. The reasons I left my home pride, I differed in opinion with my sire, the King. I would not rule as he would wish, instead I gave up the crown and came here to start a new life... I wonder about my famiy, though. I love and miss them."
He shrugged faintly. "Wondering about a variety of other things... Trivial little, meaningless things. Now, it is your turn."
