Aidan was wandering around near where Grinch had chosen to rest for the moment. He was hot on the trail of a rabbit. His body was kept low to the ground as he sneaked through the tall grass. Well, it was tall to him. A blade of grass got snuffed into his nose, which caused him to go into a sneezing fit. The rabbit got scared and ran off leaving him sneezing over and over.

Grinch burst into an unusual bout of laughter, a deep baritone rumble coming out as he laughed, "You were doing well! Low to the ground, out of sight, you weren't downwind, you were silent...But you can't get so focused on the animal that you snuff grass!" He chuckled, coming up to swipe his paw to hit both of Aidan's ears, "You have to watch out for those murderous pieces of grass."
He looked up and around, "Now that we've scared everything away, let's see now..."
What now?

Safira had been walking a short while with Kopi flying above her, lecturing the poor lioness on how she needed to find the confidence to claim herself some territory. Safi merely nodded as she went, not paying much attention to anything. She was a wanderer and always had been. "Please Kopi. You're my friend stop acting like my mother..." Safi said rolling her eyes. Kopi quickly quieted, the sound of loud, bold laughter in the close distance. Safira quickly lowered into the grass as Kopi flew a bit higher to see where it came from.

Aidan finally got the grass out of his nose, grinning when Grinch batted his ears. He puffed out his chest proudly when he was told how good he did. "I've got the best teacher!" He swatted at the grass as if to punish it for making him sneeze, then he bounded around Grinch giggling. "So I'm doin' better then, right Papa?" He knew they were in private, or at least thought. So he dared to call him that.

Grinch rolled his eyes at the 'Papa' term, but it was goodnatured, without the sarcasm and snark that others saw if Aidan dared slip to use the term in the presence of another lion.
"You are improving very--Hummm...?"
Grinch suddenly looked up, sniffing the air, then waggled down to the ground, "Try to get that!" He whispered, looking up to the flying bird in the air. "Bet you can't."
Heh, but it'd amusing to see the cub try.

Safira stayed low, waiting for Kopi to come back and tell her what had made the noise. She assumed it had been another lion, after all, what else could really make that noise?
Kopi flew overhead, circling the Grinch and Aidan and keeping high enough to at least try and stay out of harms way. But really she felt she needed to get closer, to get a better view of the two lions in question.

Aidan grinned up at Grinch, then looked up at the thing in the sky. His eyes grew wide in curiousity. When he was told to go get it, he ran up to a rock, then jumped up and down trying to grab whatever it was that was flying above him. Somehow he figured he could get it from jumping on a rock that was only a few inches off the ground.

"There you have it," Grinch whispered to Aidan, "Go for him!"
He was trying very hard not to snicker at the cub. Was he serious? Well, a lesson in physics would do no one any harm this day.

His front paws swatted at the air over and over until he lost his balance and did something resembling a back flip. He rolled back all the way into Grinch's leg with a thud, his tail feathers covering his face. "I'm not tall enough!"
He rolled to his side and got up, then ran to a nearby tree and proceeded to climb up, his claws digging into the bark as he shimmied up. A concentrated look plastered across his face.

Kopi continued to circle, being careful to stay out of reach of the lions. She found the little cub to be amusing really, trying to catch her while she was so high...and quite determined at the same time.

"Get it, Aid, get it!" Grinch was close to laughter now, "It's teasing you! Can't let a little bird tease you now. Come on Aid, go for it! A little more--almost!"
While he still hiss-whispered to keep the pretense of a surprise attack up, Grinch wasn't really trying to keep Aidan covert. For some reason, a bit of humor and light-heartedness had struck the grumpy green and he was all for some teasing sort of coaching.

He climbed up onto the highest branch he could reach, then crouched and watched the bird fluttering around. His tail flicked back and forth behind him as he grinned, hearing Grinch coaching him on.
Without thinking, he launched himself at the bird, grabbing a hold around it's legs or waist, whatever he could get. Only when he had grabbed a hold did he realise he now dangled rather high in the ground, holding onto a bird he easily out-weighed.
"PAPA!!!!"

Kopi was dreadfully surprised when she misjudged the cub and found her ankle caught in it's grasp. She let out a loud squawk as the cub dragged her downwards.
Safira looked up at her friend and gasped, she was in trouble. She quickly dashed out of her cover towards the falling pair. "Hang on Kopi!"

"Are you daft!?" Grinch demanded as Aidan leaped forward. He jumped out also to catch the cub....
Smacking right into Safira so that the cub and bird landed on top of them both. "Where'd you come from?" Grinch grumbled, "Aidan, that would have been a great tactic if you'd had wings."
He made a gahrumphing sound, then rolled over to get out of the tangled mess, "The only snapping sound I heard was my head connecting." He observed, somewhat approving of that. That meant no broken bones for the cub.
Oi, his head.

Safi collided with the Grinch, the two hitting heads. "Ow ow ow ow..." she whined sitting up and holding her head. She opened an eye and looked at the two lions before her. She's collided with the older male, all green. She looked at him a moment then at the cub and her friend. "Sorry. I was back in the brush. You're little cub attacked my friend..." she paused for a moment, "Are you both all right?"
