Happiness means to me what it means to most other people. Simply being happy. It ranges in degrees, but overall, it means being sort of in harmony with everything in my life and seeing the good things of the world. Being optimistic helps.

It varies from person to person. For me, I gain happiness from learning about spiritual things, and by being around people who bring me up. There are a lot of things that make me happy, but recently, these two have been standing out.

yeah, some things bring about Temporary Happiness, things like maybe eating your favorite dessert, or whatever your favorite thing is. But what you want is things that bring Long-Range Happiness which is usually something that is brought by gospel standards and blessings.
Now Look in a Mirror and think about these questions: (you don't have to reply if you don't want to.
What do you see in the mirror? Is the person you see in the mirror happy? why? is the person you see the person you want to be? what do you like most about the person you see? what would you like to change about the person you see? what are the talents and blessings of the person you see? what do you want for the person you see?
now just reply to let me know that you've thought about these things and just say your feelings on how you feel after you've thought about the questions.

Those are good things to think about. I'm not going to answer all of them on here, but I could for a few.
The person I see... she's nearly who I want to be. She's still a ways from where I want her to be, but I think she'll get there with time and patience.
There's a lot of things I'd like to change about the person I see, but I'll mention one. She needs to be more humble. Sure, she can be humble when it really counts, but she needs to be able to do so more often.
The talents and blessings are few and many. I think I'll skip details on this one.
What do I want for that girl in the mirror? Happiness. Eternal happiness. I want her to be happy in this life and in the next. Sometimes that can be a challenge though, for the life part of it.

Our father wants us to have Eternal Happiness as well it is said so in the scriptures.
here are a few
2nd Nephi 2:24-25 But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things. Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.
John 13:15,17 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 17 If ye know these things, ahappy are ye if ye do them.
and Alma 41:10 10 Do not suppose, because it has been spoken concerning restoration, that ye shall be restored from sin to happiness. Behold, I say unto you, wickedness never was happiness.

They say people become unhappy because they don't follow the commandments we have been given. They go on living a worldly life and being disobedient to the commandments that the Lord Himself has given to us to follow.

yup and there is also: no goals or purpose, anxiety and fear, poor self image, not accomplishing anything, not loved or loving, loneliness, self-centered, and not having a good relationship with the our Father in Heaven.
So how can we obtain a greater joy and avoid/ overcome these reasons for unhappiness?
