Go onto another character and dumb down your graphics as much as you can.

I recently bought a new monitor... my old one took like 1400 by something, this one's 1920 x 1080. My video card can't handle Dalaran any more. I have to dumb down my graphics a lot of I want to play anything in Wrath.

Another idea is seeing if you can borrow a friend's computer and log on there. Dumb down the graphics, and get your character out. I suggest just going to any other place but Dal to get what you need. There are trainers all over Northrend, so there's really no need to go besides VH or the portals to the cities. And the cities are a little closer this time to Northrend than Shatt was. It'll take some extra time, but it helps. Or, you could always go to Stormwind and buy ports from mages.

Moving to a new server or low-populated server helps with lag, too. Best part is, Blizzard wants people from over-crowded servers to leave and go to the newer servers, so there's usually a lot of free transfer realms. Bit of warning, though, some of the new realms are in Latin America, so some of the text is in Spanish, and people there speak both English (the ones who transferred from the US realm) and Spanish (the people who actually have to play on LA servers). But at least they're lower populations.

But if you have a guild or friends who you're really attached to on your realm, then I would just stick with the first option.
