Blood dripped unto the sandy ground as the lioness walked. Her tail flicked pleasently behind her and a smile was gracing her maw. The blood dripping from the gashes all along her body were harsh and ached blissfully. She loved it.
The lioness was humming to herself as she walked. She dust getting into her cuts hurt, but it didn't bother her much. The feel of pain made her shake in joy, but she kept walking along the imaginary dusty road.
She lifted her nose up to the air and tasted the sweet scent of blood on the wind... but there was something else? Soemthing close.
Polette
Trotting along, Uzuri felt her eyes water as dirt flew into them; she hated that feeling the most. The sun glimmered off her blue coat, and it felt warm. Recently, she had been spending nights away from home, and the cold air chilled her bones.
Her nose was dryer than normal; probably from the heat and the dust everywhere. Her stomach growled-- hunger. Ever since she had been living with someone else, that hunger seemed to subside, but with all the time away from that other dog, she felt herself become weaker by the day.
Uzuri lifted her nose to the air, sniffing for any sort of food. She didn't care if she had to disect a turtle at this point; she was starving. She turned her head around in the air; her head stopped as her nose caught something-- blood.

Nafsi frowned; the smell of dog was uncommon to her, having grown up alone - not leaving her area often. She tasted the air again, this time ignoring the blood and attempting to locate the strange scent of dog.
With a frown, the lioness sat. Her dusty colored coat, though stained with blood and littered with random cuts and bruises, still gleamed in the harsh sunlight. Her nose flared in question. Was the dog coming this way?
Polette
: Not truly focusing on the scent, Uzuri trotted forward, desperately hoping that whatever she smelled was something she could eat. Her mind was guided by hunger, and she blindly picked up her pace to what she now knew was a lion.
She became focused, and yearned for the lion to be dead, though she knew it wasn't-- not yet.
Crossing a small hill, she could now see what she had smelled, and it wasn't dead. A frown crossed her face, and Uzuri crept closer to it, still wanting food.

Nafsi's face held a blank stare. Her strong nose and tongue picking up the scent of the dog. She stated into the direction it was coming from; after all it was coming towards her. What a silly little beast. She could make the small this scream in pain...
But that didn't matter, the green eyes were fixated in the direction of the dog coming...
Polette
Uzuri picked up her pace even more; she was running at full speed now. She stretched her claws out and tensed her muscles, readying herself for what was to come.
Nearing her target, she was prepared for what she needed to do. Her claws were spread, and she was now only ten feet away.
In an instant, Uzuri hurled herself through the air, running her sharp claws across the lioness' back, twisting herself around as she landed. Uzuri was starving for food, and she was ready to fight for this meal.

Pain raced across her back, and Nafsi shuddered in pain and pleasure. Despite likeing the pain, Nafsi stood and turned quickly to face the dog. She grinned lightly and started to hum a morbid tune.
"You're so far from home, pup. And too young..." She left the sentance hanging. She wasn't sure of herself. Maybe the pup didn't have a home; Nafsi could see the burning hunger in the dog's eyes.
Too young and too small. This pup couldn't become her master.
Polette
Uzuri's eyes glimmered wickedly; she conscious had left her at this point, and she wasn't about to be intimidated by this older lioness. "Shut up!" her stance hardened, and she dug her claws deeper into the ground.

"Spunky, too," Nafsi commented to herself outloud. "You'll make a good Master for soneone, some day," she told the dog. Her humming started again. Nafsi's intense green eyes bore into Uzuri. She paused for a second in thought. "That, or you may need a master." She lioness shrugged. She didn't know...
Polette
"I'm not interested in being someone's pet." Uzuri spat the words out; her dry mouth was making speech difficult. "You just need someone to tell you when to shut up and die!" Uzuri ran in again, jumping to the side, nipping the lioness' cheek.

Nafsi gave a light snarl as her cheek was nipped. "You'd definately be a Master," she gave a nod. "So much potential to be one." Nafsi's tail flicked in an almost aggitation. "I may like pain, but death is not my... thing," she all but hissed at the young wild dog. "I will not die for you, pup."
Polette
Wrinkles grew on Uzuri's face now that the lioness would not die. Her stomach ached, and she knew she couldn't last much longer. She swallowed the air around her, desperately trying to find food.
Uzuri glanced back over to the lioness; she hadn't noticed the scars. "You're a strange one." Uzuri felt herself wobble, and she blinked her eyes slowly to try to regain her composure.

Nafsi gave a bobbing nod. "My mother said the same thing," Nafsi answered in a humming tone. She didnf't mind the complimant. "So, pup, what are you doing out here?" Nafsi said.
Polette
Uzuri shuddered and wondered why she hadn't gone home yet; she knew the answer-- she couldn't get used to the concept of a 'family' no matter how much she loved the one she had come to live with. She just needed some space for now.
"Food......" her mouth watered, and Uzuri tilted to the side; it had been almost a week since she had last eaten, and she showed it.

"I figured as much," Nafsi said. "We'll go to the water and I'll gather fish and hare," She commented. She didn't know why she was helping a filthy dog, but it didn't matter really, did it? The lessons from her mother and her own morals helped her make the desision. She lked the pup's spunk; it was admirable.
Polette
Uzuri felt a slight twinge of guilt; she had just tried to kill this lioness, and now it was helping her. Her head rolled to the side lazily, and she slowly wandered behind the lioness to whereever they were going; Uzuri wasn't fully comprehending everything she was saying due to her lack of food

The walk to the water wasn't long. About fifteen minutes to the two legged creature. Nafsi stopped at the water's edge. Wild berried grew around the edge along with small seemingly unidentifyable plants. "Eat some of these berries here; they will settle your stomach for a heavier meal," she commented. The small sweet berries weren't filling at all, but they gave a small satisfaction if terrible hungry.
"I won't take long... don't eat too fast." The lioness waded into the water. Bit of fur and blood wafted from her body, stinging against the burning and bleeding gashes. Diving under water, she when in search of a silvery fish.
Polette
The ground was hard, but it brought comfort to Uzuri's aching body as she fell against it. She felt she could trust this lioness for now, and she followed her advice. Reaching out her pink tongue, Uzuri lapped up some berries that were beside her; she was too exhausted to go retrieve them from elsewhere.
Glancing over towards the water, the pool of red startled Uzuri; even after she realized that it was only the blood of the lioness, she hadn't realized how much she had been bleeding.

Nafsi surfaced carrying a fish between her jaws. She had a triumphant gleam in her eyes. She dropped the fish before the pup. "Eat what you can without vomittingm" She advised. "You need the nutrients..." Nafsi frowned at the thin pup.
Blood started to drip from Nafsi's now pale coat from the gashes she had inflicted to herself and the ones the small pup gave her. She smiled a bit down at her bleeding arms and waded back into the water to gather more fish.
Polette
Uzuri leaned in close to the fish, inhaling the sweet scent of fresh meat. Once the lioness had left, Uzuri moved her head in close to the droplets of blood that had landed on the ground; they smelled nice, and she had never smelled lions' blood before.
She knawed on the slimy skin of the fish; it was something she would eat at home. The glimmering outside reflected against her face, and she swallowed what small chunks she could.

"I apologize," Nafsi said, not elaborating. "Don't worry about my death, pup. I will not die and the wounds will heal soon enough," she nodded. She nosed over the second fish. "I ate before I wounded myself," Nafsi stated.
Polette
"Yeah, but you'll need it if you want to do that again....." Uzuri mumbled under her breath. She didn't deny the fish, because she was hungry and didn't care too much about the lioness' personal needs.
"I don't see why you do that." she glanced over at the lioness' forlegs, eyeing their scars. "Only weak people want to do things like that."

"Weak?" Nafsi questioned. "I did it because... it feels nice. It makes me shudder in pleasure; I can feel it rolling down my spine still. The pain is exhilirating..." Nafsi paused - should she really tell this to the pup? "Am I weak for leaving my family for doing what pleases me?"
Polette
"If I said that, then I'd be a hypocrite." Uzuri knawed down on the second fish offered to her. "I'm saying that you're weak because you want the pain. If you were strong you wouldn't want it like that."

Nafsi shook her head in amusement. "I was just stating that I wouldn't have wasted my time feeding you if I was going to kill you. I can obviously hunt sufficiantly enough to feed myself." Nafsi chucled.
Polette
Uzuri returned to eating her fish; she had better things to worry about. She rose to her feet solemnly once she had finished her meal. "Do you stay here? In this putrid place?" she wandered over to a nearby tree and slashed her claws down it, testing her strength.

"I do." Nafsi gave a light nod, answering simply. The question was yes or no, so that was the way she answered. She finally felt the warmth of the sun penetrate her wet fur. Seh smiled. "I do live here," She stated again, with an almost... conviction. Her area was lifegiving after all. She wanted her first cubs to be born here.
Polette
"Hmmm....." Uzuri looked around; she figured the smell she had used to describe the place was actually coming from the lioness' own flesh. "Cubs? You'll be a good mother, won't you?" she looked down, remembering her own mother and how much she had hated Uzuri.
