It had been quite a few months with Loth. A hand full of times he was caring and she really began to become attached. Not like she was already when they first met. The times she came back to him to bring him the hunt, or when she brought him something he might like.
[ Shines ].. But something STILL drew her back to him each day she hunted- and every night. It was....

His acceptance.

The will not to run away- be strong.. and the fact that he had claimed her. All that encircled made Nanu only kindly want to be with him.. Maybe someday be something together. This was many months after.. But of course. It seemed thick that her stomach was getting bigger. And bigger by each day as it was harder and harder to hunt for Loth and herself. Her mind with thoughts of words she wanted to say. "Am I getting weaker? Why can't I tackle down a deer anymore.." She said while she walked farther away. That day she left Loth.. and now it being about five days without his sight.. Was draining her.. She was become useless to him! So hiding within the large forest.. that she loved so much called her. "Hide me.." For she felt shame. She was still more so near the den but not THAT close to immediately see it. Loth was good at picking places.. The forest covered it pretty well..

She had made a large nest like den inside a burrow that she made large enough to fit herself and a growing belly.. And even more space unconsciously. After a day or two- her stomach was still HUGE and most of her parts of her joints and stomach were swollen from trying to run and hunt. Now she could only hardly manage to take down rabbits or small animals.

She laid- breathing softly.. and heavily in her den.. She was eating like crazy.. she never before eaten so much in her life. EVER. But now it was like she was feeding a whole herd's worth.

"Please.. let this end.." She had visions of being ill and her stomach being bigger but didn't imagen THIS much. She could feel little legs kicking.. and moving around. Which made her think she had worms or something- making her shower at least three times a day but the feeling of them wouldn't go away. "I guess... I'll get some water for now.." She lifted her large frame, weakly as she strides towards a spring she had often showered in. There were many but not as close as this one. This time she laid there.. Tired. Exhausted from hunting rabbits earlier in the day. Now it being night she had some time to spare. With a rumble.. and her body submerged in water.

Something.. happened. Pleewop. A splash of the water lifted and caused ripples. Maybe her body was so swollen that it became numb enough so she could only feel a slight sharp pain but nothing more. "Huh?!" She tried to turn and her tail curved and lifted to show something moving.. With looking closer. It was.. a nose? She pawed at the water a bit and finally saw what looked like a rat come out of her. Quickly she swiped it in to her maw. Putting it on the luscious grass. Her ears slicked back.. as she kept licking it. Then pawing at the gunk that was around the baby and was dragging with it.

It looked.. Slated gray. She looked at her own coat.. "PUPPIES!?!!!!! IM HAVING PUPPIES!?!?!?!?" She squeaked to herself- over joyed and just happy! Thinking that she would be a mother.. but wait. Whom was the father. A blush came from her cheeks and before she could say anything more.. Another was coming out.. except it felt a sharp pain.. but it seemed it didn't come out as easy as the first one.. She gave a weakly motherly push.. It didn't budge.. She felt it wiggle more.. Nanu could only squeak at it.. Giving a gasp before pushing again.

A rather teal looking color pup. She light smiled and started to groom almost immediately. Its colors peculiar to her but all the same beautiful in her eyes.

Time went by... and by. She only had two in her grasp now.. It had to have been at least a few hours.. But she felt as though it were only overall ten minutes of how happy these two pups made her. But.. her stomach still looked.. "Preg...nant?... There has to be more in there. Im sure of it~~ EKKS~ I feel more wiggles!" A light whimper but it was filled with joy. Cleaning the two newborns.. happily. Then a sharp came raised from her mid section and all the way up to her head. Giving out an agonizing squeal.

When she turned.. to see what was causing it.. She couldn't believe that she found two heads trying to come out at once. It was ailing her like no one would believe! Her legs were twitching as she pushed harder and harder. But the pups only moved slightly.. She could hear the other two squeaking beside her.. Giving her some kind of NEW strength that she never had before. She kept pushing.. and pushing. Exhaustively. For about.. at least two an hour before both came out half way. It could be dangerous.. and it was hurting too TOO much.. So she pawed at them.. Trying to take them out. It was working and they seemed to be working hard as well.. More time pasted and she was still struggling with these two. Giving more pushes than she ever thought possible. Then finally. Both popped out after the long struggle. But.. they didn't move anymore now..

Quickly Nanu pulled them both on to shore and hurried in to cleaning them. Taking out the other gunk but mostly to see what happened and why they weren't moving.. Once all the other misc stuff was out of the way.. And she could see the two visible colors. Black.. and white. The sun and the moon. She could only lay there.. in a blank stare. The other two were yipping and moving about.. but.. WAIT! They were moving very slightly.. "Oh.. you must be tired then..." Softly petting them and giving them a few licks now- calmed down.

She laid her head down a little.. watching them.. The water was tainted now. Some of it clear- some of it on the bottom was blood. But still she felt worms- Oh. Pups in her stomach wiggling about.. They too wanted out then? Her motherly instincts kicked in as she lifted herself up enough on to the shore where her rump was still in the water.. but the nipples for the children were out. Leading them towards each one.

Laying there for a good few hours.. The stars had already been up for quite some time.. She looked up.. Counting them.. connecting them as all four of her newborns slept. She too was about to go to sleep until something. Off was happening near her rump area. She looked to see a snout trying to pierce out.. "Hm? oww.." It struggling all on its own. She didn't even need to push on how this lil bugger was trying to come out. After a few- almost there... She whistled lightly and turned her head. Giving a large push. Now that her strength was up.

She gave a light giggle as she saw the pup rustling about in the water.. Floating but once he started to sink she snatched him up happily and started cleaning him. JUST like a mother would do. Gitty for she couldn't take how he looked so funny.. Of course. She didn't know FOR SURE it was a boy- but she had a feeling. Setting him on the ground beside her. He was quite the active one. Moving like some fish out of water. Gently she took a few licks at him. Giggling softly. He would be a pawfull! And she knew it! As the other four rested- she put this lil boy to his very own n****e and let him take all he wanted, since he seemed the only one awake. Not to her knowledge that the twins were awake.. just not responding to any outside interferences. More though- it looked like that had clung to each other.. looking like Siamese twins. The good part being that they weren't stuck together.

She watched them all.. Giving her eyes a few to rest as she still felt the boy nipping for milk. Her face was to the pups but not her sight. She had tentatively fell asleep. She NEVER slept DEAD-like. No- she ALWAYS had an ear out for any strangers that could lurk about.. and try to nab her pups. She wouldn't allow that... But that sleep was much too fast and ended way too quickly. Her paw- unknowingly was around the boy so he wouldn't fall in to the water.. A bite was felt and gave her a jolt. With something again trying to come out of her. She poked her belly with her snout as she looked at her raised tail to find black form. He wasn't like the first boy.. he just sat there. With his head out for about ten minutes. Nanu quirked a bit. A light squeak. He was alive alright because she could feel him move his legs in a twitching manner. "Hmm.." He looked uncaring if he came out or not so- without causing more pain to herself. She gave a push.. but it didn't take that much strength to get this one out. With one light push he was up and adam.

Taking him in to her ma and setting him near a n****e where she cleaned him as he ate. "Your such a silly one... She wanted to say to him.. instead said it was licks and pets as the others slept. Including the one that was active enough to push his ownself out practically. It wasn't long that the others inside of her were becoming active. The sun was coming up.. it cascaded over her like the rain did.. about a month before. Everything was dry and it was due to rain not long from now. But she stayed near the spring.. for that is where she had put the pups. Wrapped up in leafs.. and under a bush. They all were just about asleep.. But her strides were now healthier looking but she still wobbled. She had cleaned herself up pretty good- catching sight of what probably was a hyena's dinner. She HATED eating left overs.. scraps. But it would have to do. She pulled the buck in to her maw and dragged it.

The stomach, liver and other vital organs were gone. Only the thigh.. everything else was GONE all the way to the bones. It would have to do.. It was only two small bites of meat. She ripped out the bone that was attached to to meat only. Dragging it back to where the pups were quickly. She was on FULL alert where they were and any steps of animals that tried to lurk at them. A very protective mother but what could she do? She needed to eat to gain enough to feed all these puppies.. Six out and not even knowing how many more were coming. Once there.. She put the buck against the tree and ate. Looking at the leafs where she watched the puppies sometime twitch or move but just slightly in their sleep.

She took a bite at it.. Looking at it.. then looking back to her pups. They couldn't eat meat right away right? ... She stared.. and thought back to the memories. The other mothers in their pride only fed them from their nipples for a while... Not feeding them and helping them hunt til they could walk and play. Nodding to herself she took the last bite.. It WAY wasn't enough to fill her appetite. I mean. There one one bone, and only half of it had meat. Which was only the size of her paw maybe. Sighing.. she went back and curled herself around the pups.

After a minor nap with the pups.. About an hour or two to let the food settle in her stomach.. Which was starving still. It would due. After waking, Nanu had it in her that more were coming. Sooner than later. This time she got ready. Bringing leafs and putting rocks around the spring's side so the other pups wouldn't go drowning in no water while she was around. She waited there. Attentively.. Rustling came out of the brushes.. Her ears went up and her eyes shooting in each direction.. Carefully. Something was around them. Something.. something dangerous. Her heart started pounding..

Quickly she pulled large leaf that had her kids in it. But right before her eyes something latched for them and she too did as well. Her paw striking it and the feel of something beneath it. It all happened so fast that when she came to realize. It was a snake that had tried to nap one of them. A growl settled within her as she ruthlessly bit in to the snake and ripped it in half. Spitting it out- in a throwing manner. It landed about some feet from them.. It was not some small snake. Fairly medium sized. It could have eaten her worms! -- i mean PUPPIES! She gave an alarming squeak of warning.. What she was trying to say is that if any whom tried to take her pups will die on the spot. Yes- a rather protective mother she had come to be in less than 24 hours.

But right as she did that a pain shot through her legs- which made her cave down. Panting as she knew now that another was trying to be birthed in to the world. She looked and it was already trying to come out and she could see fur. What looked like blood. Quickly she took the leaf full of her pups and curled around them. Having a bunch of leafs around the grass.. this one was proving to be almost as painful to birth out as the twins.

Something like a growl rumbled in her.. As she laid her rump down on the leafs and started to push. Her ears slanted back as she squeaks were starting to sound more in pain by the moment. One paw went to hold her stomach.. It was hurting really bad. Then.. blood started filling the leaf she had under her rump! Quickly her nerves started reacting as she tried to push the blood out of the way but only more blood was coming out. "Whats happening!?" She looked away a moment before she dug her maw- feeling the soft skin of the pup before trying to pull it out. It felt stuck.. but she kept trying to push it out. After a few minutes of nerves on their ends.. the pup came out- which only looked like a black face. All else was dark blood red- she got scared then and pulled him over to her front legs and started cleaning him nervously. Even trying to dip him in water!

But no use.. It looked as though the blood had stained his fur. At least- she thought. When the pup was dunked in to the water.. nothing came out of the fur now.. so she supposed.. It was too late. Then pulled its wiggling body in her arms and curled her paws around him.. A light whimper even though he seemed to be ok. Wiggling occasionally and a light whimper or too. She didn't know what she was going to tell Loth though now about him- wait. HOW WAS SHE GUNNA TELL HIM!? It had bee.. what. Almost two weeks!? She started whimpering.. but ceased after a few moments. To feed the red pup.. The pups needed her now. She'd think of what to say to loth once she had a brief chance to. Still blood came out of her in now small quantities. Not like when she had all the other girls and boys.

As she stared at all the blood. Another seemed to be coming out but she barely felt anything except the slimey feeling. She stuck her eyes on it. Astonished for she didn't even have to push.. He just came out. She didn't much even feel him wiggle!

When she dipped him in the water and started to groom him. As she did this ... she saw memories of her mother.. He ... looked a lot like her. She kept licking and grooming excitedly and nudged him right after. To go and eat. For she was in this for a while... Or so it seemed. Softly petting him.. And remembering all the while- this pup gave her. When her mother found out that she couldn't talk.. or how her grandmother felt as well. When all the pack surrounded her and asked questions.. But all in all the good times. Like when Oni tried to scare the words out of her. A smile was brought to her face. A humble one. One that she was happy enough to give.

Letting her face down.. She was absorbed on this puppies.. How they were making her feel.. Seeing them all wake. A light giggle as she pulled the two boys out for a moment to clean herself off and move away the bloody leafs. She'd probably clean them later but she would definitely keep them. For sure.. To remind herself always about this day. A forget-me-not sort of way. Once she was clean.. She laid down next to the pups and let them get their feeding.. Though one or two couldn't get in.. and thoughs were the twins, the wiggled about and tried to nap a n****e but nope. Either a brother or sister intervened.

A light giggle came out of her. She had some bags under her eyes from not sleeping sufficiently but that was ok. This show was way more important to her then sleeping for sure.

After playing with the puppies a little while.. Nipping at their rumps and tails. She took the red one in to her arms. Licking his nose and happily squeaking. Giving them food if they looked for it.. When they stayed put she gently washed herself off. What? After the millionth time. It wasn't a deep spring.. trotted around and lightly trotting in it. Trying to 'bite' at the splashes then trotted back over to her kids. Nope.. She wasn't done. Her stomach was rumbling as if she were hungry.. Her ears twitched and she slid yet against the leafs. This should be the last one right? She laid down.. And this time. She right away started pushing.. and pushing.

She wanted this one quickly and easy. Minor pains were shooting around her stomach.. But it was fine. She kept licking at her stomach softly. Wondering if and when she could see a head. The other puppies squeaking some of them. Others she could hear moving..

Then another squeal. LOUD came out. Which startled a bit as she saw half the body already out. She closed her eyes tightly and held her breath quickly before giving the last breath.. Where the pup slid out and laid across the leaf. She pawed at the gunk.

Softly licking the face first and gently dipping her in to the water.. She could tell it was a girl. For its tone of voice was different from many.. Softly dipping her in to the water before pulling her out to start the grooming process.. She felt it almost over. Her ears fanned out as she saw the lil one squeaking and softly put her to a n****e to feed.. Flicking her tail.. This one had.. colors.. so unqiue. She giggled. Nipping at the pup's ear.. Nudging under the chin as it was eating. How mean- huh? For a mother to start picking at her pups..

Waving her tail to the beat of the child's heart.. Her ears went up. Blinking. Something off was going on. She looked at the other pups.. Curling them in to her forepaws.. Giving them all licks like a collection. Sometimes even nipping at one or two. Some had the thought of taking more feeding.

Nanu curled around them all. Her eyes slitted as she watched them and all their own personalities poking about.. Giggling to herself and making special notes. She thought she was done. All these lil puppies.. Thinking what Loth would say.. giggling again. She would start making their move.. but how could she transport all.. what is it. NINE puppies? When she was about to sit she felt something- automatically going to her side to lay down. Figuring it would be better this way. She stayed there a moment. She wondered if her mom felt this much pain.. Her nose wiggled.. as she sneezed- something then came out exactly when she did. Her eyes went wide- unbelievably that there was ANOTHER coming out of her.

Her stomach had went down a bit.. This time she slid out of biting mouths of the puppies to take this ONE pup in to the water with her. To get cleaned. That was it.. she hoped. Dipping him a bit as she groomed. Putting him on her paws to be put on her head as she cleaned herself off. He didn't much move so it was fine.. She thought. After all the gunk was out of her.. she trotted to the other pups and slid him down in to the lil miniature 'pack' she had with her.

Waving her tail about happily.. But all her body was swollen and she looked about beat. She needed a LOT of rest to recover from this. Sitting up and watching them all.. one taking her n****e which made her lay down again so the rest of them could start taking them in as well. A bright and motherly smile.

-It felt like ages since she'd began running, the vision of her sister drawing her into an immediate frenzy. The vision was clearer than most Banafrit recieved, so clear she could almost feel the pain that was conveyed upon her mute sister's face. Perhaps that's why she hadn't stopped, baring a few quick laps at water, despite having begun her journey nearly a day and a half before.

Gaewrn had been frantic, quite certain she was going crazy, quite certain she was going to hurt herself with the pace they traveled relentlessly. She could read it on his usually stoic face, hear the soft hints in his often monotone voice. But there wasn't anything she could do about it now.. Not until she was sure Nanu was safe. Bana had often worried about her sister's safety after she left the pack. On one hand, it was nice to know that she was indeed alive.. perhaps not so well..?

They'd travelled through sand, through grasses, through areas of familarity. They were actually travelling backwards from the way they'd come, driven on by an unknown internal link. Though she'd recieved no directions persay, Bana knew the way she had to travel. When night fell Gaewrn insisted they stop. Begged her to rest for just awhile. 'You need to eat at the very least!' he'd cried, so finally she'd relented, promising to wait while he went to hunt for them.-

-The lie stung her more than she thought it might, and silently Banafrit vowed to try and refrain from the unpleasant action ever again. But for now her sister needed her, and only moments after his ivory pelt disappeared, she slipped off again. He'd be so angry... even if he didn't show it. But what could she do?

Lucky for her, she was close, and it wasn't long before the scent of blood touched her sensitive nose. Bana shifted her path, following the scent as worry nagged, churning her belly. The subtle familar scent of her sister sent sparks down her spine, and quickly she weaved through the brush.- "Nanu!? Nanu?"

Nanu's ears picked up the sound.. The voice. Her eyes slowly opened. Tired and sickly like. Birthing these pups was not an easy task and drained the minerals in her body for she did not feed well. Only one bite of some scrap the hyenas left.. This being a day and a half now? That she was just lying there with the pups. Not even the motivation to move. She wanted to bark out to the voice- was she hallucinating? Could that really be her sister? Squeaking of which.. she hadn't seen since she left.

She lifted her head.. and all the kids were tucked in except the twins. Their eyes closed still and squeaking.. But once they started- all the others in some sort of weird orchestra started to ring with a bunch of pup squeaks and screams. Like if they read her body wanting to talk.. so they talked for her.

Her tail flapped.. Nanu laid next to the water, as the kids were all tucked in to her stomach. But all of them squeaking- but not really much crying.. Nanu's ears filled with it and a weak smile came out, her breath very shallow as she tried to stretch out for the twins to come back close to her. Banafrit's voice was probably just in her mind.. and how much she missed her sisters and family in the other pack. But yet.. she now couldn't leave with all these lil things around her.
