"Yay yay yay!" Celyn skipped into the bakery, french braid swinging back and forth as he excitedly moved. The young boy liked plenty of places, but one of his all-time favorites was the corner bakery. It was full of sweet smells and sweets, and it was full of bakers that the budding cook in Celyn loved to just sit and watch. The bakers had gotten used to Celyn's visits by this point, and some even seemed to enjoy the way he pressed his face up to a clear counter and watched all the sweets.
...Which was exactly what he was doing now. Celyn had long left Carwyn, his worrying father, behind, in favor of mashing his head against the clear counter's window pane and staring at all of the pretty sweets in awe. There were pink sweets and yellow sweets and circular sweets and car-shaped sweets. There were chocolate sweets and vanilla sweets, strawberry sweets and blueberry sweets. It was enough to make anyone with a sweet tooth like Celyn's instantly start drooling.
When he got older, Celyn wanted to bake sweets just like the really nice bakers here! When he heard one of the bakers address him, he looked up and grinned sweetly. "Oh, hi Mr. Baker Man! Are you making anything good today?" The little boy looked hopeful, and the baker could only chuckle. Instead of responding, the baker placed a large cookie in Celyn's hands and went back to work.
The little boy squealed in delight. He loved fresh warm large cookies! Especially chocolate cookies like this one. They were always so gooey and he loved when he felt the chocolate drip on his lip or down his chin. ...And this time, silly Phoenix wasn't here to continuely wipe Celyn's face off. Phoenix hated this place. Some of the gooey sweets went against his continuous need to clean. Ah well. Celyn giggled, taking a bite out of the delicious cookie. It was Phoenix's loss, after all.

Having been left in the care of her dear aunty Remi's smile was huge. She loved Neena, the cat woman who had given her mom the oil that led to her birth and had given her the cute little clip always clutched in her hair. And when her mom was out looking for a job it was Neena who always took care of her.
Normally ok with it, Neena looked bored and like she was ready to bolt at any moment. The cat demon wished she was sleeping at home but instead she was being tugged around by the warm-hearted brat.
"Oh Neena! There's a bakery! Can we go? Pleeeeease?!" Turning to look down at the little orange haired kid Neena realized this would be the perfect time to ditch the little one for a few hours. Though Izzy would flip out on her later. "Sure kid, here, 30 bucks. Go crazy. I'll be back in a little bit, I have some errands I have to run."
Grinning like a maniac Remi skipped into the shop, the bell dinging so sweetly, while Neena headed to the park where a bench was calling her name. Remi didn't even hear it as she took a deep whiff of the deliciousness that reminded her of home.

Celyn happily held the giant cookie with both hands and took little nibbles out of it, wanting to savor the cookie for as long as possible. After all, Celyn didn't have all that much money. Buying these things himself was a very rare treat! Having someone give the delicious cookie to him, though, was even better. Now he had a delicious cookie and Daddy wouldn't worry that he was losing too much money.
The little boy was so happy that he hardly noticed the sound of someone else entering, even though he was usually quite aware of these things. It took a few moments before he caught out of the corner of his brown eyes that someone else had entered the store. Interested, Celyn turned so he could get a better look at the little girl who had entered with an excited look on her face.
Ooh! She seemed to be as excited about this place as he was! Celyn's eyes sparkled at the prospect of finding someone who shared his love of sweet thing like his friend Kaoru had. The boy, eating his cookie all the while, strolled over to the little girl and grinned. He didn't let go of his cookie to wave, but he did nod his head as a way of greeting her.
"Oh hi! Did your parent bring you here too?" Celyn would usually wait for someone else to notice him first, but after a few months of only Phoenix and being in his natural environment--surrounded by sweets--made him a bit more inclined to interact with someone else. Maybe she would talk to him too! That would be fun. They could talk together about sweets!

Eyes glued to the many colored sweets Remi felt butterflies in her stomach. She loved sweets. It was a good thing her mom liked to bake and was good at it otherwise half of all the money they had would be spent on sweets from bakeries like this. Oh yes the smell of fresh baked chocolate chips was a wonder.
Taking a deep sniff Remi realized that the cookie smell was closer then it should be and when she opened her eyes she saw a kid holding a large cookie in their hands. Noticing the little cookie crumbs and melted chocolate sticking to the child's face when they smiled made Remi giggle. "My aunt Neena dropped me off. She was cranky today and smelly stuff bothers her more then it does most people. My names Remi! What's yours?"
Smiling brightly Remi looked the kid over, her bright eyes shining. "You're very pretty! I wish I had as pretty hair as you." Smiling Remi wondered how she got her hair into that cool hairdo. 'She looks like a fun friend! Maybe I'll have a best girlfriend to play with!'

Celyn personally noticed the smell of another cookie was closer than it should be, too. Ooh, was this little girl another kid that came from a scent oil? This just got better and betterer! "Hehe, my Daddy took me here. He's somewhere in the store, but I kind of wandered away from him." The little boy couldn't help his silly little giggles.
Realizing that wasn't the only thing she asked, he added, "Oh, I'm Celyn! Nice to meet'cha, Remi!" Unfortunately, neither his childish voice nor his name would really help with the assumption that Celyn was female and would make a great best girlfriend. After all, 'lyn' wasn't a very common male name. He lifted the large cookie to his mouth and took another bite out of it, grinning like the cat who ate a bird all the while.
The little boy blushed brightly when she complimented his hair, forgetting that he was chewing on cookie for a few moments. Once he realized himself, he swallowed the cookie and grinned at her. "Oh, thank you! You've got really pretty long hair too." And Celyn did mean that. Her dark brown hair was so long and so nice looking. Of course, Celyn would still much rather have his hair in a French braid, but her hair was still pretty.

Remi blushed at the compliment and smiled shyly. Which in a no time at all broke into a large grin as she hugged the girly boy, nearly smashing what remained of his huge cookie. "You're so nice! We're going to be best friends, Celyn, I just know it!" Squishing her face into his hair Remi suddenly smelled something very sugary that wasn't the cookie. Confused she shugged it off. 'Must be some type of yummy shampoo!'
Pulling away from the taller boy Remi grinned and bounced on her feet. "Hey want to help me figure out what to get to eat?! I never can decide everything just looks so good and tasty! And all of it smells so good that I can't say no!" Glancing back at the multitude of sweets Remi licked her lips. "Mom says I shouldn't eat so many sweets. Says its not healthy and that I'm going to turn into a sweet if I keep eating them so much!"

It was, of course, the scent of his churro oil. Of course, he was assuming that she knew that, since she smelled a bit like a gingerbread cookie--like the type he had decorated during the holiday season. "Your mama is silly! I say the more sweets, the better. They're sweets after all, and sweet delicious things can bring a smile to anyone's face. That's why I bake a lot; to make people smile! That and it's just fun." The young boy beamed, resuming the eating of his cookie. It was a good thing it wasn't broken, or Celyn would have become rather upset...
"Sure! I was looking at some cupcakes a few minutes ago and they looked really good. Plus, the baker-guy over there is really nice. He gave me this cookie!" Celyn grinned at Remi, before skipping off in the direction he came. Hopefully, Remi knew to follow. Celyn didn't want to let go of the cookie to grab her hand and pull her along.

Giggling Remi skipped after him. "Cupcakes sound yummy! Especially when they are piled with tons of frosting and sprinkles!" Licking her lips Remi was excited to taste the sugary goodness. Cupcakes. Piled high with frosting in all colors! Maybe they'd have rainbow ones! That would be so cool! Or what about ones with smiley faces and hearts! Oh! Maybe they had one with a horse on it. She'd never seen a cupcake with a horse on it.
Reaching the counter Remi gazed at the cupcakes. Trying to press her face to the glass to gaze at all the pretty cupcakes she fogged up her view covering the delicious goodness from her sight. Wiping the perspiration off Remi frowned. They all looked so good! How in the world would she be able to decide? Turning to Celyn Remi frowned. "They all look amazing! I don't know how I'm going to decide! Which ones do you like?"

Celyn liked this girl! She said everything he was thinking and more, even. She liked sweets as much as he did, and it was rare he found someone who shared that in common! Perhaps she liked to bake sweets, too. Ooh, then he could have a good friend who enjoyed baking cupcakes and cookies and other sweet things that Phoenix despised. It would be lots of fun, and needless to say, Celyn was grinning from ear to ear as he thought about such wonderful things.
"I really like all of them too!" He frowned, but then, an idea came to him. His eyes widened as if he had just thought of something most shocking. "Hey, maybe if you call the baker over, he'll let you have a free sample! He lets me have free samples sometimes. He's really really nice. Maybe if you have a free sample, you'll find a cupcake you really really like, and you can buy another one!" This sounded like a great idea to Celyn. If the little boy had obtained more money from his worrying father, he may have just taken that idea for himself.

Clapping her hands together Remi jumped up and down on her toes. "Yes that's a great idea Celyn! You're so smart! I never would have thought of that!" Grinning Remi ran over to where the register was stationed, making sure to grab Celyn and drag him over with her. Waving her arm crazily to get the bakers attention she smiled her warmest smile and giggled sweetly. "You have so many good looking cupcakes I just can't choose! Do you think me and my friend here could have a little itsy bitsy sample? Please?"
Watching with big puppy dog eyes Remi looked over at her friend and whispered in his ear. "I don't think it'll work. He seems busy. Are you sure he'll give us free samples?" Biting her lip nervously she looked at the chef. He seemed nice but then so did some other people Remi had met and they would never give her free stuff. Even if the stuff wasn't going to her.

She thought he was smart! Wow, it was nice to be the really smart one for once. Celyn smiled from ear to ear at gaining someone who thought he was smart and had a love of sweets that seemed to be as much as his. This was awesome! "I'm sure he'll offer some! He gives me free samples all the time! He's a really nice local baker guy and I'm sure he'll give you something super yummy!" The churro boy nodded rapidly, confident that the baker would do just as he predicted.
It seemed that little Celyn was right. The baker, upon hearing the child call him, turned around and chuckled. The little sweet-loving boy had a girl with him. That was cute--and indeed, the baker thought them cute enough to come over and offer them both cupcakes. He gave Celyn a cupcake with a strawberry on top, and he gave the little girl a cupcake with rainbow-colored frosting and chocolate flavoring. "Hope you like them, kids." With a jolly smile, he headed back to work.
Celyn squealed. He loved cupcakes that tasted like strawberries, and he loved strawberries because they were the sweetest fruit to ever exist and he loved sweet things. Then, he cheerfully turned towards Remi, French braid swinging from the quick twirl he made. "See? I told you he was really nice and would give us samples! He gave you a rainbow-frosted one; it looks really pretty..."

Staring in awe of the pretty looking cupcake Remi touched it gently and hesitantly. "Its so pretty I almost don't want to eat it...." Her eyes sparkled as she gazed at it. It was a really pretty thing and reminded her of the last time it rained. Her mom had taken her out to dance in the puddles as it drizzled and as they were singing the sun came out and a rainbow crossed the sky. It was so beautiful.
Smiling Remi took a small bite and felt herself melt as the taste of chocolate hit her tongue. It was the best cupcake she had ever tasted! Looking over at Celyn to see his cupcake she smiled, the crumbs from the cupcake on her teeth. "Your strawberry is so red! I bet it'll taste good. My mom says the redder the strawberry the sweeter it is." Giggling Remi was hit with an excellent idea. Celyn had said he liked her cupcake and that it was pretty so maybe he wanted some? "Hey Celyn want some of my cupcake?!"

Celyn nodded firmly. "Red strawberries are really, really good! The redder they are, the juicier they are, too..." The little boy loved juicy fruits, and he loved getting to eat them without Phoenix trying to clean off his face after every bite he took. Since she remarked on the strawberry, he decided to take a bite out of it. His smile grew from ear to ear, and indeed there was a little red juice dripping from the side of his mouth.
It took him a few moments before he could respond to Remi's question. When he did, though, he looked even more excited. "Okay! And do you want to try this cupcake?" It seemed he shared food with all of his good friends--or, at least, to anyone he liked enough to consider a friend. He had shared a drink with Kaoru, and now it appeared that he wanted to share his cupcakes with this awesome person named Remi that he had only met a couple of minutes ago.

Giggling Remi smiled the wheels in her head working and churning up a plan surprisingly sneaky for such a sweet warm little girl. She smiled as she saw the juice drip from his mouth and running slightly down his chin. "Sure I'd love some! But first you have to try mine! Really you have to!" Grinning Remi then scooped a finger full of frosting and placed it directly on his nose giving Celyn a very colorful blob on his face. "There you go!"
Laughing Remi then actually offered Celyn the cupcake hoping she hadn't hurt his feelings with her little prank. "Here. I'm sorry I hope I didn't make you feel bad! I just thought it'd be funny." Smiling warmly she pleaded with her eyes for everything to be ok.

Actually, it seemed Celyn wasn't offended at all. On the contrary, the little boy began giggling at the feeling of frosting on his nose, and then tried to lick it off. Since he couldn't actually reach his nose with his tongue, it didn't work very well, and he resumed his giggling. Eventually, he took the frosting off with his finger and sucked on his finger to get all of the frosting off. The frosting was really tasty! He grinned widely, especially when she started apologizing.
"No, no! That was funny! In fact," the little boy took a little bit of the strawberry frosting from his cupcake and put it on her nose, giggling deviously, "now you've got a frosting nose too!" He liked this girl. She was fun and she didn't mind getting stuff on her face! That gave her extra bonus points. Then, he giggled a bit more until he managed to calm himself and his giggles again. "Alright, now I'll try your cupcake." He offered her his before taking hers and taking a piece off of it. Celyn didn't want to take too much of her cupcake, after all.
