Would I be overstepping my bounds too much to ask that we get a mod to clean out all the really old garbage threads and maybe boot old inactive members so we could have a more realist number of how many people are in this guild.
It just seems like the guild could use some renovation and such.

Well yes, at least with the main forum. There is ten pages, where last eight could be cleaned up quite much without any worries. There is also great amount of stickied and announcements, there might be something that could be rearranged to better places in subforums etc.
Cleaning up a bit wouldn't hurt anything. mrgreen

well if none of the mods are willing to do it in a few weeks, could we get a temporary mod to go through the stuff with like a checklist or something?

Hehe, we've actually been talking about doing this for quite a while. I've gotten rid of a couple stickies and such, but I don't feel comfortable doing a whole lot without chaos.ultima.mage around. As for the Roleplay Sticky and Announcement... Well, the RPs are the one thing I try to stay out of in the guild. I don't feel qualified to handle it when I'm not going to be participating. I don't even know what's going on with those things now.
As for what I think we should scrap... Well, the Guild's Choice Awards never went much of anywhere, and I doubt they will. Nobody ever updates the Happy Birthday thread, so that's probably not worth being a Sticky, at least... And maybe "Not gonna be around for some reason? LET US KNOW!," seeing as most people go away without posting there anyway. I was considering combining Fanart and Fanfiction, but then we wouldn't be able to keep all of the existing posts, so it's probably better left as-is.
I personally like have all the old threads around, though. It's nice to be able to go back and look at stuff. As for deleting inactive members... Again, I'd leave that to chaos.

I think the best thing to do for the RPs is to have it member-run. I can't do it, and none of the other mods seem to be around enough to handle it. If a member decides to take it on, I can help by altering Stickies and such, so let me know if you think you can.

I've asked multiple times to be put in charge of the RP thread if no one else wanted to do it, but one RP mod kinda blew me off, the other never responded, and ultima kinda told me me to talk with them, so....

I'd like to see it member-run too.
Krell, I know you're roleplayer and a good too, but your gaming style seems to be very technical. If you would be the one run RP section, can you also handle other styles of gaming. I don't mean that you'd be a player or GM at every single topic there is or might be... smile
Meaning rather, that you can help solve troubles in heavily storytelling based gaming situations and give guidance over things that (by my current knowledge) aren't your special field?

Krell, if you want to do it, I will do my best to try and help. If chaos told you the other mods are in charge, we shouldn't make it "official" until we get word from him, but it's better to have something running, at least. Just tell me what to do.

I think Schutzhund may be at least partially right. My RP'ing does often hit blocks in stories that I never play in. Granted I'm good with most fantasy stories, but give me an RP that has too much of something I avoid and we would have a problem.
Here's an idea. Have a group of people who are somewhat skilled with RP's who are willing to offer their advice where it is asked. Then ask Ultima if we could have 1-3 mods who would be willing to help with mod stuff in the RP section. They don't even have to participate or be involved with RP's whatsoever if they don't want to, because the group of people who has volunteered to answer questions and support the other RP'ers could deal with everything and just ask one of the helping mods to edit something a certain way if absolutely needed. Granted a mod in the group would be more effective, but we will work with whatever we can if it means getting the RP subforum up and running again.
Schutz I don't know much about your RP background, but seeing as you're able to critique me, I'm pretty sure you know something about RP's too? willing to be part of that group I mentioned?

I'm willing to help. This interests me a lot.
I've been playing quite long time and many different kinds of RPs and styles. So I may have the needed experience.
I been playing at least once most of the known tabletop games and some indie-games too. I know I'm quite adaptive and I have good eye for trouble solving and reasoning. Fact that my real life profession as a graphic designer (and kinder garden teacher) helps great deal. It's easy to walk the line between impression and rules, written or social. And I have has great GMs to learn from and to have discussions of gaming methods. I've also been co-leader (practical matters) at 5-6 year larp campaign.
For extra and fun, now I'm playing in Finnish World of Darkness chronicle as a Prince of the City and a werewolf, there is two Cthulhu campaigns running, Star Wars campaign where I'm captain of space ship and long term D&D 4.0 campaign. All of those has a quite different focus.
As a player I appreciate creating moods and interesting happenings, interaction and developing the story logically. Hell yes I like it when there is epic movie-moments but I want to keep it entertaining for everyone and mostly do teamwork instead of backstabbing other players. Not that it can't be done if it serves the story...
So I think I could be of assistance, if Ravenwolf and others accept it.
