Frog's bile...Frog's bile...WHERE HAD HE PUT THE BLOODY FROG'S BILE?!
Oh, there it was.
Red paws shuffling through a pile of carelessly-scattered ingredients, logs, rocks, dead leaves and bones, dim blue eyes settled on their goal: a fat, bloated, dead frog. Claws stabbing the muddy-green flesh, Idili'su pulled the creature toward him, stubbornly refusing to move his butt from where he sat. He wriggled his fingers in front of him to rid himself of the dead frog and stared disinterestedly as the thing flopped to the dirt with a "put" sound.
It was a misty afternoon full of humidity and clouded-looking sunlight. Idili'su wasn't one to care much for the weather and how "nice" it was on any given day, but he took a special kind of notice to the day whenever it was very humid out. Moist air was good for his ingredients. And Idili'su dearly loved his ingredients. They were quite important to him.
Yawning, the juvenile grabbed the bloated frog in his right paw and squeezed its stomach in one firm pulse, aiming the mouth into a large shell of bark that was full of a slimy-looking green liquid. A strange substance came spewing out, pale tongue hanging out of the frog's mouth with it, and Idili'su smiled half-way. Obviously this was what was supposed to have happened, and the young lion was pleased. Truth be told, the frog's bile did nothing to significantly change the potion he was making. All it did was add a peculiar foul smell to it. But that was exactly what Idili'su wanted. Now, it was onto the next ingredient.
...What was the next ingredient?
Lips curling into a frustrated sneer, the white and red lion stood and turned around to face his messy pile of things. Surely there was something more to add. But he couldn't think of anything. So the potion was done? Hm. What to do now? What was he to do with the finished potion? Give it to someone? That was what one normally would...Or use it on himself?
Decisions...Idili'su hated them. Whenever a decision arose, he always wished there was someone he could turn to to make the decision for him.
And that was when the little lion heard an odd snorting noise.

"Na n-na...NA N-NA~," the innocent female voice of a leopard cub sang out, echoing mildly through the trees. Small, brown paws hopped from one rock to the next, wobbling for balance occasionally. The little female's goal was to stay on the rocks and not fall on the grass. "Na neh neh na~...NA!" she sang, taking one daring jump to a rather far-off rock. She made it safe and sound, sturdy legs jiggling with effort to stay atop the bumpy rock. The little leopardess stuck her tongue out of the side of her mouth and bit it in concentration, eying the rocks ahead of her. There were only a few more to jump on. Oh, no! What would she do when there were no more?
SHE WOULD DIE!!
"Nono!" the small female shouted.
Giggling, the leopardess wiggled her rump and made another leap, but this time her claws scraped against the scratchy surface of the rock and she slipped off, falling into the grass onto her side. And there she lay motionless as if dead, eyes staring blankly at the treetops, mouth agape. Several moments passed in this way.
Perhaps boredom took its toll on her young mind, for the leopardess grinned and rolled onto her feet, trotting further into the wooded area as if nothing had taken place.
"Na neh na~...Neh na neh~" she sang, gold eyes examining the leaves on the trees overhead, not caring that she was tripping quite a lot since she was looking at the treetops, not the ground. But it wasn't long before the cluster of trees ended and the leopardess found herself in the open. And there in front of her was a small, white lion with an itty-bitty red mane. What a silly-head silly lion! He didn't even have a fluff-fluff chest! Maybe he was born that way? The poor dear...
"Gogo will help him." the leopardess whispered, eyes sparkling as she grinned, completely disregarding the fact that she knew full well the lion in front of her was a juvenile, and that was why he barely had any mane. But it was nice to pretend. Games were fun, after all. But any thoughts of "helping" the lion vanished when she smelled a horrible, sour, pungent stench.
It smelled quite good!
Snorting loudly several times, perhaps to humor herself, the leopardess trotted over to the lion to examine the source of the strange scent.

When the loud snorting sounds became mixed with footsteps, the white fur stood on Idili'su's back and he grew paranoid, eyes darting left and right. For some reason, he didn't want to turn around. Perhaps he thought that if he couldn't see the owner of the snorting and the footsteps then it would go away; just disappear? It would vanish like a bad dream and he wouldn't have to face it.
The juvenile was many things. A budding potion-maker, scientist, medic...But above all these things, Idili'su was a coward.
And he didn't take pains to hide that fact, either.
Idili'su began to wonder if the thing behind him was one of his family members. Of course, he was terrified of that thought. Idili'su always tried to keep his interests a secret from his immediate family. Out of embarrassment? Maybe. But it was most likely that Idili'su just felt more special when he knew about something no one else did. Especially when the thing he knew had to do with himself.
So, the more he thought about the one behind him (breath was upon his back then), the more he dreaded facing it. But he had to! No, think of an excuse first. He was sure it was a family member. Excuses were needed to fool family members. Well, then, he was...A...He was...It...Was all...BLAST!
In a flurry of dust and claw-scraping, Idili'su turned and face whoever was there. It was--
...A leopard cub?
Eyebrow rising quizzically, the lion stared.

When the young lion turned around to face her, Gogo was quite pleased. His eyes were a lovely, unique shade of blue and he had the same look on his face that big-cats had when they talked to cubs. And big-dogs too, she guessed, but she had never seen any big-dogs before.
Flashing a white grin, the leopardess's golden eyes remained glued to the lion's blue ones and she stared right on back at him, never speaking; just staring.
However, as shown before, Gogo was young and easily became bored. So, the staring contest ended after only a few short moments.
Snorting one big, loud snort, the brown and white cub closed her eyes briefly, trying to pinpoint the smell. When her eyes opened, they were set on something just behind the young lion. Her wide grin faded to a simple smile. What could've been making that awful, horrid smell? Surely something dead. Oooh, dead things! They were so awful! The leopardess stifled a giggle at the thought. But if something dead was over there, she wanted to see it. Even though it was probably gross. And old. And smelly. And, oh, dead. Dead things were not good! But she wanted to find the source of the smell, even if it meant seeing an icky dead thing.
"Whazzat?" Gogo asked simply, eyes still focused just past the lion and onto his pile of scattered items.

Ugh, cubs...How they irritated him. Then again, anyone irritated Idili'su, really. Everyone was so immature...Everyone. He'd yet to meet someone like him. Actually, there were times when Idili'su hated even himself. So if the day came where he found someone just like him, chances were that someone would irritate him, too.
"What?!" the juvenile snapped, glancing the cub up and down. "None of your buthineth!" With a swift turn, the lion bolted back to the scattered mess of items and stretched his body in front of them, as if to shield them. Why did the cub want to see his ingredients; his potions? Did she want to tell on him? Or tell someone else who...Wanted to steal his IDEAS! NO!
"GO AWAY!" Idili'su shrieked wildly, eyes bulging as he stared at the brown and white leopard cub. "You thaw nothing!"
And he certainly hoped she hadn't. What was he going to do if she persisted...? Curses!

Gogo sauntered closer to the lion, hips swaying with each step as she imitated the walk of many leopards she had seen.
She hadn't been intimidated at all by the loud volume of the male's words, or by his angry-sounding commands. Instead, Gogo was completely focused on something else.
"You talk funny," the cub giggled, ears quirking. She jumped in front of the male, arms flailing out in an attempt to rally the boy to play. Of course, she knew he wouldn't want to, but she enjoyed teasing him. Gogo was very happy at the moment. She had found a new friend AND some strange, new things to look at. Speaking of which...
The small leopardess stood on her tip-toes, craning her neck to see over the lion and at the pile of "goodies" he was hiding. Her smile faded and her expression shifted to a thoughtful one, lips parting to make a small "o".
"Smells good," Gogo murmured softly, still playing with the idea of such a putrid scent being nice.

So...She persisted...
Well, there was only one thing left to do...
He would just have to ki--
WAIT A SECOND.
"I--...! I-...!!" the juvenile stammered, completely and utterly aghast at the phrase which the leopardess cub uttered. Never in all his life had he been thus spoken to; insulted like a mere...A mere...Well, something low and worth insults! But no, no, Idili'su was not to be insulted. How DARE she speak so to him? He possessed smarts and wit and good manners and great ideas. He was well-educated (self-taught, mostly) compared to most lions his age, and quite proud of that fact, actually. Of course it was common knowledge that along with all of those fabulous qualities came a rather unique trait...
He lisped.
But soooo what? That was just part of his speech; his way of talking. It was actually considered charming to some. Idili'su didn't care much about how he or anyone else talked, however, so he didn't pay much attention to his little speech..."impediment". But despite all of this...Whenever someone spoke of said "impediment", Idili'su felt a great and dire slap to the face and chest; his pride. Those who insulted him very soon regretted it...This cub was going to become just another example of someone who had dared to mess with Idili'su...And his...
LISP.
"I will NOT be inthulted when YOU'RE the one worthy of the inthul--" the lion spat, choking on the last of his words as a strange wave of self-consciousness wafted over him. He stopped speaking entirely at the sight of the cub walking completely around him as he spoke. He gaped in horror as she drank in his pile of ingredients with her eyes.
"WHAT do you THINK you're DOING?!" the small lion screeched, suddenly short of breath. "Thothe are MYYYY ingredienth! MY exthperimenth!" he seethed, hair bristling.

All of Idili'su's stammers, exclamations and wheezings went completely unnoticed by Gogo. She heard him, but she wasn't focused. She was too absorbed in her own endeavors.
It was only after getting around the white lion boy that Gogo finally saw what she had been searching for.
In a small bowl was a pool of odd-colored liquid. It wreaked intensely and Gogo found her eyes watering, but she gave a loud, pig-like snort just the same. After even closer examination, the leopardess found a second item of interest; something even above worth compared to the entire scattered pile of carelessly-arranged ingredients and tools.
A dead frog.
Puffed-up, round, and earthy green, it was a delightfully slimy sight to behold. It was on its lifeless belly just next to the bowl of smelly liquid. Gogo felt her insides become giddy at the sight of it. A smile twitched onto her maw and her tail swayed with excitement. Without another thought, she dove right for the frog and skidded to a halt on her stomach in front of it, scattering her "new friend's" ingredients and stirring up a cloud of dust. She placed her paws delicately, yet firmly around the width of the frog and pulled it closer. She gazed into his dilated eyes and grinned. A story developed quickly in her mind and she acted it out accordingly, like always.
"Ohhh, my son...Gogo will not leave you alone again~!" the leopardess cooed in a mother-like voice. She rolled onto her back and held the frog out above her as if presenting a newborn heir. She continued to gaze at it in a rather loving fashion, tilting it now and then as if to admire it at every possible angle.

First, she had disturbed his work by snorting.
Second, she had tried ruthlessly to spy on him and steal is ideas.
Third, she had insulted him.
Fourth, she had completely disregarded any and all warnings he had given and had deliberately passed him.
And fifth, finally...SHE HAD TAMPERED WITH HIS PRECIOUS INGREDIENTS!
Small frame trembling with rage, and eyes flashing bright blue, Idili'su glared a hard, long death glare into the face of the leopard cub. He stomped over to her, each leg landing on the grass with a heavy thud. Hovering over her, he intensified his hateful look and even lowered his eyebrows. Then the juvenile lion spoke in a low, deadly-sounding voice.
"Put...That...DOWN." he commanded through his teeth.

Gogo flashed a white grin at the lion. She jumped to her feet, butting heads with the male in the process. If it hurt her, she didn't show it. And if it hurt him, she didn't care.
Stumbling on three legs, frog in the fourth, she pressed her forehead into the lion's shoulder and sighed deeply.
"Ohhh, we're going to be a happy family again..." she said wistfully, as if bearing the weight and wisdom of the world. "Gogo, little Jogu...And you, Shishi." She directed the last name at the lion, gazing tenderly up at his face. Then she shifted her attention away from him and sat down.
Gogo held the frog out in front of her, admiring the way the thing's little arms flopped as she did so.
"Ohhh, Jogu...You have your father's eyes!" she exclaimed affectionately. She gave the smelly frog a nuzzle and sighed again.

Idili'su was in shock.
Mouth agape, eyes blank, he stared at the leopardess, making no sound or movement. He didn't know whether to be dazzled, or distraught.
The actions she portrayed were extremely strange; unique. He had no idea what to make of the little creature. She was half his size, fat, and giddy. She was very much his opposite, he thought. And there she was, screwing up his life and taking away whatever dignity he had left by sucking him into her quirky, disgusting games of "playing family". It was so wrong on so many different levels...
HIM? Play FAMILY? With a LEOPARD CUB? ...A GIRL?! ...EW! And his son was a FROG? A DEAD frog...? UGH!
AND THAT THING DID NOT HAVE HIS EYES.
"YOU'RE CRAZY!" Idili'su spat, nose wrinkling in a sneer. "Don't make thingth up. And my name...Ith NOT...SHISHI." he shouted, twitching.
He hoped that would be the end of it. He hoped that the leopard cub would finally get the message and leave. He really hoped.

Unfortunately for Idili'su, that was not going to be the end; far from it, in fact.
Gogo had no plans to leave her new-found friend alone. She had found someone fun to play with, and she was going to stay as long as she could. And she didn't care of the lion liked that or not. She liked him, and that was all that mattered. He was so funny and she loved playing with him. Yep, he was gonna be her bestest friend.
Humming a little song, the leopardess jumped to her feet and pushed the dead frog into the lion's face, imitating stroke-like kisses.
"See, Shishi? Your son loves you again!" she whispered. She danced in a circle, giggling and gazing at the dead frog. "We're gonna be so happy, Shishi...You and me..." she sighed.
"...Together forever..."
