It had been a long time since Ostara had seen another Usdia, even her most recent meeting felt like it had happened ages ago. That fact was rather disheartening, why was it that her kind were so hard to find? She grumbled to herself as she slowly walked through the tall grasses, "Oh come on! I'm sure there is more Usdias around here..." she trailed off, it was bright and sunny, there was no reason she should be in such a foul mood!
Picking up her pace and lightening her mood she ran along being careful not to trample her favorite flowers, though if she did she made sure that they wouldn't be wasted and devoured them quite promptly. Her blue eyes searched the area warily as she chewed, she wouldn't want to miss another Usdia, or any other company as a matter of fact.

Panda was a more soilatary Usdia then the rest. She wasn't very aggressive so she felt that she couldn't live amoung the others- competing for food or mates. Not to mention the last time she was near Soquili she had almost been trampled trying to do a simple task like eatting. Her eyes scanned the horizon as she could see nobody in the field but herself and all the sweet grass she could eat.
But as she went down to take a bite her ears noticed the familiar sound of hoofbeats racing towards her. She perked her head and her ears up, the grass hanging hapharzardly out of her mouth. With her eyes see once again scanned her home. But this time instead of seeing nothing she saw an orange figure moving towards her. Quickly she swallowed and braced herself for whatever motive the other had- because from a speed like that and the way she held herself she was obviously looking for a fight.
Panda sighed. She really didn't want to have to give up her home. She wasn't much of a fighter afterall.

Ostara flicked her ears as she glanced around, she froze a smile on her face as she saw the sunlight glimmering off of some sort of shiny metal object. Seems she wasn't alone after all! She slowed her pace and trotted towards the gleam of light, her grin growing steadily bigger as she noticed the one who it belonged to was another Usdia, and that the gleam was coming from some sort of thing in her hair. Another Usdia! It was better then she could have hoped for, at most she was expecting to find a Soquili.
"Hello!" she called happily as she neared the other and briefly admired her intricate hair decorations. Blue eyes scanned the stranger over, she seemed a little tense? She couldn't recall having done something wrong that would set the other off and decided to pay it no attention. "Nice to see another Usdia."

Panda grew more and more tense till the other was finally infront of her speaking in kind words. Prehaps she had overeacted just a little bit to the others entrance. But then again she's been so used to living with fearce Soq that it was a natural reaction for her to want to flee. She stood there for a few seconds silently then mustered up the courage to talk to the other. Who she was quite glad was an Usida and not anything larger. She wasn't the bravest either.
"Likewise." She nodded a small smile spreading across her maw. She didn't afterall want to seam rude. It would be nice to have a friend her own size. "I'm Panda...but alot of people call me Pandy. You can call me what you like."

Ostara smiled brightly as she waited for the other's response, the other female seemed a bit nervous but Ostara continued to pay it no mind. It's not that she was insensitive but more that she didn't appropriately assess how it could affect ones behavior. Perhaps she would have though it over more if the situation was more serious or dangerous, but being as carefree as she was it was quickly forgotten.
"Pandy? What a cute nickname," she chuckled, the nick name seemed to fit Panda quite well. "I'm Ostara and people call me... well Ostara," she grinned, "no nick names for me yet." She smiled and pawed at the ground with one of her hooves, it was almost like meeting her friend Leap all over again. "Nice day isn't it?" she asked glancing up at the nearly cloudless blue sky. "I haven't seen another Usdia in a while..."

"Well you could call your sell Ossie. Thats a cute nickname." She once again smiled over at the other finally relaxing herself completly. She was glad the other had no intent of taking her lands. Or even fighting. "Yea I guess it is pretty cute." She nodded making her bells shake and caused a jingling noice. She was used to it but the other would probally spook at the unusual sound. She though paied no mind to it like the other to her nervousness.
"I normally don't see Usdias myself. Even amoung the bigger Soq herds they normally seam to flock with there own kind. But then again those Soq's are kind of terrifying- being that big and all." She shook abit thinking of all the hooves she had to avoid when living with them.

Ostara chuckled as she nodded, "It is," she laughed while glancing briefly around. She was starting to wonder if there were any others around as well, knowing well enough that some travelled together, she almost wished she had a group to belong to.
She looked slightly surprised as she heard the jingling of the bells on Panda's bows, she had never heard such an interesting sound before. "What are those?" she asked slowly in awe, she leaned forward and nudged one carefully with her nose before pulling back with a snort. "Those are pretty... well pretty," she smiled.
"I've only met a few Usdias, I guess our size makes it so hard for us to find one another." She let out a small laugh before glancing into the bushes. "Most Soquili are pretty nice..." she murmured, casting her gaze back upon Panda, "though I can't say the same for the Kalona's or the Skinwalkers but... generally speaking they are all very kind. I guess a lot of them don't look where they are walking though!"

"I suppose you could be right." She jingled again. "They always have there heads high up in the air and there hooves troding as fast as they could take them...at least where I came from anyway. I don't ever recalling them trying to avoid stepping on the Usdia. I suppose they just assumed we'd get out of the way since they were bigger. Though aside from those Soq I really havn't 'personally' met any others. I don't think the lot of them like to deal with our kind." She shrugged at the thought.
"Oh my bows? I had them on since I was born. Mama says they were luckey. I think she said the two-leggers gave them to her as a gift. But she wanted me to have them." She moved her tail about so they would jingle again. "I've meet a two-legger. They are strange creatures..." She paused slightly. "They have skins on there bodies that they can take on and off- because well they don't have fur. Except on the top of there head, such strange creatures!"

Ostara nodded, "judging by the ones I've met they are pretty kind, but I guess they have bad eye sight since they have such a hard time spotting us." She let out a laugh and stepped to the side as if she were moving out of the way of some imaginary Soq. "I guess they mostly just find us a little strange since we are so small. I wouldn't take offense to it, besides our size helps us avoid detection by Kalona." She cracked a grin and began marching around Panda in a small circle.
"Really?" She stopped and poked at the bow again, "how nice..." she smiled as she heard their jingling sound. "Two legger? Hmm I don't think I've met one before..." she tilted her head to the side thoughtfully, but no memory of anything with only two legs surfaced. "I can only imagine, they do sound rather strange... I mean how do they gallop if they only have two legs? And why don't they have fur?" She raised an eyebrow wondering if there were any two leggers nearby.

"I don't think they gallop..." She cocked her head trying to remeber. "They actully sit on the Soq's backs- and thats how they get about. It's strange really. Could you imagine ridding on the back of a Soq?" She snickered at the thought. Her bells jingling with her laughter. "Oh and they live in these little white mountians and and and...they've tamed fire!" She squeaked out excitedly remebering walking around the Teepee and how the fire burned in a little hole inside the white mountian.
Her head then followed Ossie about as she circled her. She then lifted her front legs up and pawed at the air playfully. This was possibly the bravest and happiest she had felt in a long while. "You know if you don't have a place to go you can stay here with me and we can form an Usdia herd? Waddya think?" She grinned and pawed a hoof at the ground cheerfully.

Ostara tilted her head, "they ride on Soquili?" she frowned and furrowed her eyebrows trying to imagine this. "That would be really high up, I'd be worried about falling." She laughed and pranced about in a circle before freezing, "tamed fire?" she snorted. "I'm sure they may have thought they had but wait and see, a day will come when they regret trying to harness something so wild."
Ostara chuckled watching Panda, " Really?!" she asked quite surprised by her offer." I suppose that would be quite nice... but could others be in it too? I met this nice, though slightly odd, green Usdia a while back..." She gazed off into the distance, "we could have a nice little herd though and the more of us there are the easier it is to fend off predators!" Her ears flicked back and forth happily as she turned her sights back on Panda. "Thank you for the offer."

"I don't see why not." She blinked. "It would be so much fun! All of us 'little' horses together. I don't think the Soquili could miss us if there were a bunch of us." She nodded. "It'd be a nice place to raise young...you know one of these days that I actully deside to 'settle' down." She then thought to herself about potential mates and cast it aside not wanting that type of responsiblity yet.
"But yea these strange two leggers sit ontop of there backs. I think it might be undignifying to have something riding on your back like that. I don't think I'd like it very much." She then nodded about the fire. "I'm sure it will one of these days. I'm just glad I don't live in the forest next to the fire in case one of those days happens to come."

Ostara nodded, " that it would!" she laughed, "we would have our own army and would be feared." She giggled before casting her eyes about the area, "this does seem like a nice place to live..." she glanced at her hooves and pawed at the ground again when she thought about raising children of her own, it was such a strange concept. "It would be ..." she nodded in agreement.
She snorted, "I wouldn't want to have someone riding on my back thats for sure, though I doubt I could even stand if someone did. I wonder why the Soquili put up with it?" She tilted her head curiously, "It's best to leave wild things well alone..." she chuckled. "I'm glad I haven't run across them for that reason."

"Well from what I gathered about the humans- some of them earned the Soq's trust...then there were others...others I didn't meet. But they 'broke' the Soq. Turned them into a horse-slaves. They did what the humans wanted and did nothing else. It's almost like them taming fire- it's only going to backfire in the end. But I was lucky I only meet the nice ones. She was friends with this Usdia and he lived inside her teepee. Nice guy really. I'd like to meet up with him again." She tried to hide her swooning and her attraction to his 'rump'.
"I don't think anyone fear a herd of Usdia. We aren't really the meanest bunch. I doubt even the angryest, ill tempered Usdia couldn't even match up with the nicest of Kolona. Though it might be fun to watch them try and sort it out."

A frown quickly grew on Ostara's face as she listened, she didn't like most of what she heard. "That's terrible, those Soq should just run I'm sure they can run faster then any two legger can," she snorted before nodding slowly, "it is a good thing that you didn't meet any of those bad ones." Her ears flicked and she glanced at Panda with a sly smile, "oooh? You want to see him again," she giggled.
"I don't know about that," she let out a small laugh, "if we could gather a lot of us together it could be pretty frightening, imagine a whole mass of Usdia on stampede." She chuckled, "though we are pretty gentle creatures I suppose..."
