A b o u t .. P r i d e s
Interested in joining or creating a pride of your very own? This thread will explain what is needed and how to do so.
Not only does creating a pride take some work, but a lot of role playing and dedication to make sure it stays up and running. Before creating a pride, make sure to follow all of the instructions that are listed below. I have the right to delete any prides that aren't done correctly. W h a t .. I s .. A .. Pride?
Prides are a collaboration of lions who follow under the command of a King and Queen. Prides can consist of family members, outsiders, friends, and even other species! A pride will provide it's lions with food, shelter, socialization, and comfort depending on the ones running it A lion pride's hierarchy looks like this:
King and Queen Royals (usually the offspring of the King and Queen) Pride members Familiars Visitors B e f o r e .. Y o u .. S t a r t Before you even start a pride, you must have...
Three official members as well as the King and Queen You must register your pride by posting in the "Pride List and Map" thread. Details can be found there A pride interest thread must be created and have interest before you can register. We do not want you to have to play for a subforum, work hard on setting it up, and then have no one join it. To create an interest thread, please make a thread here At least one role play that mentions the start of a pride. This could be between the King and Queen, other lions, etc. This should be posted in the registry thread along with your form If you had an active pride back in the old guild, the original role play and an interest thread is NOT required in order for you to create your pride. Registration, however, is Approval by a staff member via a pride location. This means once you have a dot on the map, you're good to go!

P r i d e .. R o l e s
Each pride is required to have certain roles to ensure that things run smoothly and efficiently. This will also provide members with something to do rather than sit around all day. The roles and their descriptions are as followed. T h e .. R o l e s
King
The King is the main leader of a pride. Not only does he finalize all decisions, but he patrols the territory and protects the members within. Although prides are usually lead by one male, sometimes a group of males, brothers or friends, will be deemed as Kings. Queen
Queens play a very important role within the pride. They help lead the pride and keep watch on all the members. While the King is away patrolling, the Queen will take over his duties of protecting pride members. She will sometimes lead the hunt and will also tend to the cubs - her own or not. There is usually only one Queen within a pride. Adviser
Advisers are usually older and more wise adults, male in gender. They help oversee the King and give advice as needed. Advisers will also witnesses all treaties and alliances. Only one pride member can be an adviser. Shaman
Whether it be a vicious battle or just an injury from playing too rough, the Shaman will always be on hand to tend to the wounds. This lioness oversees birthing and will try to revive the sick and dying in hopes that they recover. There is only one Shaman in a pride. Royals
These are the offspring of the King and Queen. They are usually cubs or teens that don't have another role within the pride. Once their father has retired from his duties of being King, his role will be passed on to the oldest son. Hunt Mistress
This lion must be an adult female. She not only leads the hunt, but plans it forehand and then executes it. There can only be one Hunt Mistress within a pride. Hunt Sisters
Hunt Sisters aid the Hunt Mistress during a hunt. They follow her direction, help bring down the prey, and also help bring back the kill to the rest of the pride. In addition to that, they must teach the younger cubs how to hunt. Hunt Sisters are always female and can only be teens or adults. The normal amount of Hunt Sisters is 4, but there can be more or less depending on how big the pride is. Lead Warrior
This male is the second in command to the King. He will fight along side his leader and also direct the rest of the warriors to attack whatever may be invading the pride. The Lead Warrior should be a male and must be an adult. Warriors
These lions fight along side the King and the Lead Warrior, defending their pride with honor. Although the warriors are usually male, it is not rare for a lioness to help fight. Warriors must be adult or teen in order to be worthy of this duty. Den Sisters
These lionesses stay close to the pride at all times, helping the Queen with her daily tasks and especially babysitting the cubs. They are also in charge of keeping the den safe and clean for everyone. Scout
A scout will patrol the lands with or without the King, making sure everything is intact and everyone is safe. A scout will ward off any unwanted guests and keep a sharp lookout for anything out of the ordinary. Scouts must be at least teen or adul tand should be male. Pride Sisters
Pride Sisters must be able and willing to help out with just about anything at any time. Their job is universal and can change at any moment. This including babysitting, hunting, leaning, fighting, etc. They must be teens or adults and must be female. Familiars
A hornbill or mouse of the King or Queen, a familiar will act as a messenger to the pride. Because of their size and speed, they can oversee other things that a lion may not be able to detect/get to fast enough. Visitors
Males or females who have friends or family within the Pride. If welcomed by the King and Queen, they may stay for any length of time (unless you become a member, leave, or are kicked out).

P r i d e .. S e t .. U p
Once your pride has been confirmed in the registry thread, you'll need your very own subforum to get things started. Each piece of information is vital to not only the pride itself, but the lions and owners of each lion. Before you jump right in to making threads and such, however, a few things should be understood and done. G e t t i n g .. a .. S u b f o r u m
You must be fully registered and have a place on the map before getting a subforum A subforum costs 2,500 gold to create. So a fee of 1,500 gold from the owner of the King and Queen should be sent to -PL- Prides. Please title this trade with "Subforum Fee" to minimize confusion. Once the trade has been accepted, we will be looking at your registration post and creating your subforum with the pride's name You will be sent a private message when your pride subforum is ready for posting S e t t i n g - U p
Although not everything needs to be set up in this exact way, you should at least have the following content somewhere in your subforum Introduction thread. This thread should contain something along the lines of a welcoming message, pride updates and announcements. It will be posted as an announcement, not a sticky Pride rules. All of your rules will be made in a single thread - you can make up your own or use the default rules Profiles. There should be a thread that contains member profiles of your King, Queen, and all of the pride's members Pride location. Describe the location of your pride and provide a picture of the official map with your pride's circle on it Joining pride. If you have specific rules about joining, please be sure to explain them and show them how to join your pride Main pride. Like how pride originally worked, there should still be a thread for all members to interact with one another. It's up to you what you want to call it, but it will be stickied and used as a "main" place to function You can decide whether or not you want to put these in separate threads, together, sticky them, or have them be annoucements Once your basic threads have been set up, you may PM the prides mule and explain what you wanted as announcement threads, what you want stickied, and anything else you feel needs a moderator

J o i n i n g .. P r i d e s
Have a lion that you want to throw into a pride? Great! Before you even post, however, there are some background rules that you need to know. B e f o r e .. J o i n i n g
Read the pride's entire front page! Some prides may have their own way of allowing lions to join, so read it! Make sure it is a pride filled with lions your lion gets along with, and people that you get along with If there is a form needed to fill out and PM to the pride manager, fill out the entire thing. History and personality is needed for pride profiles, etc.
