User ImageThe sun was high in the sky when the little female finally woke up. Siblings gone, dad hunting, she had the den to herself. Which, usually, the quiet observer wouldn't mind, but she felt like being a bit social today. Molemogi had one friend so far, and she wanted to make a few more. Because Vu was training, and she didn't want to disturb him! After all, he'd be protecting her one day.

After stretching out and shaking, she grabbed a little nibble from the stack of meat and bones from her den and headed out into the bright day. Green eyes blinked quite a few times before she finally adjusted them enough to see where she was walking. Mollie moved to her favorite rock, which was warm because of the sun, and laid upon it, chewing on the zebra meat happily, pulling string after string off the bone.

Paws and muzzle filthy and bloody by the time she was finished, she licked the blood off the rock and paws, then headed for the local watering hole to clean the rest of her up.

The sun had just risen when Menuha had left the den. She usually wasn't such a morning bird but a really annoying mouse had woken her up. She had had her revenge and chased and the poor thing for an hour before she decided it was enough. Her morning hadn't been very eventful after that. She had done a bit of exploring of her new home and afterward decided to practice her hunting skills.

Which was what she was up to at the moment. Staying close to the ground she made a tentative step forward. Menuha's eyes never left her target - a bird that was perched on a rock on the edge of the watering hole. She heard pawsteps, someone was coming their way. Her prey seemed like it was about to fly away. Menuha dashed out of the grass and leapt on the rock. Sadly she was no where near quick enough and the creature flew away unharmed.

"Well, damn." She muttered as she sad down on the rock, green eyes following the bird as it disappeared. She looked to the side to see who was it that had interrupted her 'hunt'. "Oh, hi Mollie! Finally up and about, eh?"

Despite her best efforts to look awake before she exited the den, the dark cub yawned widely before looking into the matching green eyes of her sibling. She gave a toothy grin and smiled before moving over and nuzzling against the elder one. Molemogi was next to the last born in the litter, or so her daddy told her. With a purr, she gave a gentle headbutt to Menuha's head and then sat down and stretched out again, grunting softly. "....I.. was up late. Chasing a mouse that wouldn't let me sleep," she said softly.

Molemogi was working on opening up and talking with her family more. Something she still wasn't completely comfortable with. But, she'd have to learn to communicate if she was going to be one of the newest scouts! That was her goal now, thanks to a cub she knew as Vu. "I managed to get it under my paw, but it bit the pad of one of my toes."

Menuha purred as she nuzzled her sister. Her lips pulled into a smile as she watched Molemogi stretch again, she was so loved to nap, that one. "Hah, you too? That thing will never learn." Menuha shook her head with a small laugh. "The thing woke me up, too." She explained. "Gave it quite the chase afterward." She said proudly. "Just playing with it, you know."

It occurred to her that her she and her sister rarely had conversations like this. The fact that Molemogi wasn't relying on body language, like she usually did, brought another smile to her maw.

"Really?" Menuha stretched her neck to see the dark cub's paw better. "Darn rodent." She muttered.

She held up her paw for Menuha to see the little red mark on her paw pad and shrugged a little. "That mouse is destined to get hurt, isn't it?" She said, smirking a little before climbing on the older sibling and laying on her back, starting to chew on the other's ear. With a little laugh, she rolled off and then laid on her side with a little 'plopping' noise before rolling over and shaking herself off again. Yawning, Molemogi shifted again and looked towards the Den. It looked so comfy..

"I miss sleep..." Shaking her head, she huffed and breathed in the air, trying to sense if anything, or anyone, was close by. "Hey, have you seen our brother anywhere? I think I seen him..... once."

She went silent after that, pondering for a minute, head tilting to the side as she watched the mouse scurry in front of here. "There it is!"

"If it keeps coming into our den - definitely." Menuha remarked mischievously. "Heeeey-" She faintly protested when her ear got chewed on. She Turned her head and tried to get Molemogi, but her teeth just barely brushed against the darker cub's ear.

"How can you miss it when you have been awake for barely an hour?" Menuha chuckled. "You are so weird, 'Mogi." She said shaking her head. "Jelani? I played with him the other day."

"What is?" Menuha asked absent-mindedly as she followed Mollie's look until she saw the mouse too. "Ah! The little bugger! Let's get it." She bounded towards it with a cheeky smile.

Bounding after her sister, Mollie gave a laugh and then attempted to put her paw down on the mouse, only to have it zag. Mollie, trying to follow it, ended up running into her sister and gave an oomph, when she slid and tumbled over Menuha.

Getting up on her paws, she shook herself free of dust and glanced around, looking for that stupid mouse. When she couldn't spot it, Mollie moved back over to Menuha and helped nudge her to her paws and then licked her shoulder and back a little with a small purr. "Sorry! The mouse..." She squeaked out, biting down on her lip before hanging her head and sighing. How did a mouse get the better of her?

Menuha pounced towards the unfortunate mouse, but the nest moment she found herself flat on the ground, her sister on top of her. It took her a moment to realize that they had ran into each other. At first she was a little angry but that quickly passed and she laughed at the situation.

She let Mollie help her get up and thanked her. She gently touched her neck with her nose and gave Mollie a little lick. "It's okay, it can happen sometimes." Menuha bumped her head against hers."Come on, smile for me? It's not a big deal."

With a little huff, she gave a nod and rolled her shoulders. "I just.... I'm sorry," she quickly said again. Molemogi hated being in the way of others, but she managed to do it anyway. "Now the mouse went away. Stupid mouse.. I wanted to bring it to daddy.. He would be proud! 'Cause... we'd hunted it, right?"

"It's okay. Nobody got hurt." Menuha shrugged. She hadn't gotten hurt and she didn't really mind getting a little bruise or two either. She was getting used to it since she played with the boys so much. Unless there was blood pouring out, everything was fine.

"Yeah, well, it's not like we're some super-cool hunters with awesome skills...yet," Menuha winked at her "right? We'll get the stupid thing next time and make dad proud." She gave a huge smile, hoping that Mollie would cheer up. Even if it was because she looked really silly with this grin on her face.

That made her chest puff out and she nodded. They'd get the dumb rat next time and she'd bring it to daddy herself. She grinned and then moved to tackle her sister, hoping to land on her and start to play fight. She hadn't had much interaction with her family. But she wanted to change that. What better way of bonding than a test of skills and strength?

"Vu and me always play fight!" She said with a grin. Oh, wait. She hadn't told anyone about Vu yet. Oh, well. Mollie would tell the truth if she was questioned. Molemogi had found herself a best friend and she intended to stick to him like glue.

Menuha was more than willing to play fight, especially when it was with someone as quiet as her sister Mollie. With a smile she let the dark cub land on her and shifted her body so her sister rolled off her. Then with a playful growl she tackled her, aiming to get her paws around Mollie's neck and bite her ear.

"Vu? Who's Vu?" Menuha paused as her sister's words surprised her, but she continued with her attack as she asked her question. She wondered when had Molemogi found a new friend. It was a good kind of surprise tough. She was happy that Mollie had friends.

"V...Vu's a cub... I know. I met him at a pile of rocks..." She explained and then fell over at the attack. She knew her sister was curious. Taking the offense, Mollie lunged forward to get a hold of her sister's ear and grinned wickedly. Her tail lashed behind her like a whip, but there wasn't any real malice behind it.

Should she tell her sister she liked Vu? Would Menuha understand?

Menuha fell along with her sister and rolled over. Before she could stand up she felt Mollie biting her ear. She twisted and tried to swap her feet from under her and pin her down.

"Oh, so you have a new boy-friend?" She teased. "So what's he like, is he a good friend?"

Vu was certainly not a boyfriend! Not at all! She whined a little at the accusation and pouted at her sister. Quickly, Mollie got up and snorted again, cheeks puffing out as she settled in front of her. Maybe she didn't mean it like Mollie was thinking.

"He's... he's a good friend... and a teacher." That was all she really wanted to say about him. "I-I'm going... to go get something to eat," she murmured. She prayed her sister didn't follow. Clearly, Mollie wasn't comfortable about talking about Vu, but that was alright. It was typical females when they had their first crush.
