I think it's fairly safe to say that if you're here, you really love Code Geass, and before I get people yelling at me for, "hating on the show!" I want to say that I also fall into that category. I do love Code Geass, but this is something I wanted to have a discussion about.
I like watching Code Geass to watch Lelouch's brilliant mind at work, and of course for the regular Knightmare battles, but one of my favorite things about the show is how everything is always changing, and how new plot elements are constantly being introduced.
But I'm wondering if that's beginning to get predictable.
This occurred to me this week after finishing episode 12 of R2, Love Attack! Lelouch and Shirley get together, which is great, I'm thinking. Then, at the very end, Jeremiah comes in and removes her Geass effects, meaning she remembers everything. This right after Shirley and Lelouch get together!
I'm not saying that I'm unhappy with how things are going, or that I knew in the middle of the episode, "Oh, Shirley is going to remember everything at the end." But it's almost... expected from the audience that Shirley and Lelouch won't be together.
Anyone else have thoughts on this, or a similar experience to retell?

no i don't think it is ever sense i started watching code geass it been keeping me on my toes it keeps me thinking if this person does this what will happen to someone else so no i don't think it getting predictable.

I saw the ending when it started.
There was very little they could do to get out of that.
Sometimes I would get caught surprised but in the long run it is down right predictable. It is kind of like watching Death Note.

It wasn't as predictable, as it was sad... just watching Shirley go on like that. In all honesty, I don't think everyone would've appreciated it if the creators left Shirley to become a tool that was only an "inconvenience" earlier.
We needed Shirley to settle things with her memories. At least, thats what we were all hoping for. Poor girl. And than it happened.

We needed Shirley to settle things with her memories. At least, thats what we were all hoping for. Poor girl. And then it happened. Yeah, but in the same episode? Shirley suddenly becomes an enlightened character, and just as suddenly they off her. She could have gone on a bit, perhaps indefinitely, as Lelouch's confidante within the school. I just think that when Shirley remembered everything, we shouldn't have all realized, "Oh, they'll be getting rid of her now."

We only knew she'd get killed off because of Rolo being a total p***k with a total psycho-brother complex. I guess I'm blaming Rolo for everything now. Never liked him too much up until he died, protecting Lulu.

As you get further along with R2 it's just full of twists and turns. D:

Well Shirley and Lelouch didn't get together but nobody ever expected that Rolo was gonna kill her. For me the series was really surprising I mean who the hell knew that Lelouch's geass would have go crazy and Lelouch can't turn it off!? Who knew C.C. was still alive after she got shot in episode 1 season 1!? Who knew Lelouch made a deal with Susaku to kill him (Lelouch) after Lelouch takes over the world!? Who knew that Lelouch would try to take "refrain" and then try to kiss Kallen?! Its always been unexpected for me, except when Shirley got her memories back. The weirdest thing was I was so pissed at Rolo for killing Shirley but felt sad for him from overusing his geass to save Lelouch from the black knights and rebels.
