The Rules
Please state in the title of your Fanfic, and next to the title please put the rating. It'd be a whole lot eaisrer to set up visible warnings for things like mature content, shonen-ai/yaoi and shoujo-ai/yuri.

The Dictionary

Canon
An original character that belongs to the series, like Kakashi or Naruto. It's also used to say the story follows the series timeline, and the characters' are acting like they do in the original series.

Char
Short form of character for lazy people.

IC
In Character; a character that's true to the qualities of the canon/original series.

Literate
Someone who posts in paragraphs with advanced and accurate spelling and grammar, possibly with a plot if it's in an RP.

OC
Original/Own Character; a character made up by the author. Usually portraits what the author wants to be. It's very difficult to create a credible OC that's well received by the readers.

OOC
Out-Of-Character; a character doing things that is too different from the canon to be believable, or when a character does something he/she would never do in the series i.e. Kakashi showing his face. OOC are usually disliked except for in crack-fics, or in the odd instance when it's well written and made believable.

Mary-Sue/Marty-Stu
Unbelievable OC (Mary is for girls, Marty for boys), i.e. a Naruto OC that knows every jutsu, has a Sharingan in one eye and a Byakugan in the other, is extremely sexy but really nice, is a genius, the best at taijustu, genjustu, and ninjustu, and pretty much the most unrealistic character. Usually based on how the author wants to be. Many people hates Mary-Sue's so you might want to watch out with your OC's.

Non-con
Non-consentual sex. In other words, rape. Is sometimes seen in fanfiction and is mostly rated as Mature content depending on the details.

Slash
Refers to romantic same-sex relationships in RP, fanfics and fanart. Is mostly used in reference to boy/boy relationships and is equivalent to shonen-ai/yaoi/shoujo-ai/yuri.

Shonen-ai
Trans: Boy's Love. Mostly used in fanfiction and describes a romantic relationship between two boys, or men. This term is for fluffy romance and covers everything up to hot kissing and making out. Most of their clothes should stay on, otherwise it's traipsing into the yaoi category.

Shoujo-ai
Trans: Girl's Love. Mostly used in fanfiction and describes a romantic relationship between two girls, or women. This term is for fluffy romance and covers everything up to hot kissing and making out. Most of their clothes should stay on, otherwise it's wandering into the yuri category.

Yaoi
Mostly used in fanfiction to describe a romantic and/or sexual relationship between two boys, or men, with more sexual content than shonen-ai. This term incudes both explicit and implied sex.

Yuri
Mostly used in fanfiction to describe a romantic and/or sexual relationship between two girls, or women, with a higher sexual content than shoujo-ai. This term includes both explicit and implied sex.
