A young man stood on the deck of a ship pulling into harbor. He was a redhead with a glint in his green eyes, his flashy orange cape flapped in the wind, revealing a lean build. He hadn't paid for the ticket, he hadn't even stolen the money to pay for the ticket. He had gotten it from some rich guy in the at the docks.. that wasn't the only thing that he had stolen, but he could brag and show off the gold pocket watch later. As the ship docked, he went bellow deck to quickly invert his cape to reveal its second purpose. A dark cloak with a hood and several strings to allow it to be tied closed in the front. He snuck out the porthole and down a chain to the waiting deck, avoiding suspicion because, after all, the only one on that side of the ship was some kid in a bright cape and shirt, and how could somebody strutting around in stuff like that get away with anything?
Chase snickered as he went into an alleyway, he couldn't afford to risk the guy he had stolen it from having remembered his ticket number and reported it stolen. He would have had to recheck his ticket as he left, to avoid stowaways and thieves like himself. He flipped his cape back around and strutted out into the fairly empty streets.. well.. it was the middle of the night, and this didn't seem like a very big street, more of a large back ally, really. He would have to find a place more crowded, that's where a pickpocket could work his magic the best, though someone with Chase's skill could pick the pocket of a man with fifty bodyguards alone in a well lit room.. or at least as far as he was concerned.. that that he would actually TRY something that ridiculously risky. He took a deep breath, "Zatao, ready or not, here comes Chase Hondosha!"

Sienna breathed in the cool night air and blew it out in a content sigh. She loved the city, probably due to being born and raised in one. As much as she loved her nightly strolls through the quieter area of the city, she wasn't all that familiar with it. One wrong turn and she was lost. Then again, she had Frey with her so they couldn't stay lost for long with the pidgeotto's good sense of direction. The bird pokemon was currently out of his pokeball, gliding on small currents of air in front of his trainer. Training at the Katarina gym with Sienna was proving more tiring than he thought and a nice calm glide around the city was just what he needed to relax himself. Or so he thought. Sienna jumped a little at the sound of a ship's deep fog horn. New trainers and maybe some returning travelers were probably just dropped off, Sienna reasoned. She would probably see most of the trainers at the gym soon, if not sooner if she ran in to one of them. The bird trainer stopped and thought, that horn sounded pretty close. Had they strayed closer to the harbor than they thought? That wasn't a good sign. "Frey we should probably be heading back to the gym now." Frey made a semi-circle in the air as he changed his course back the way he came. "Otto, otto ."

Chase saw a golden opportunity, a girl was walking his way, she didn't seem to see him in the alleyway, and if he had had any less experience, he wouldn't have seen her. He pulled out his bright orange PokeGear and their matching headphones, stolen, of course. He put the headphones in without any music, and closed his eyes so that the slit that he could see from was invisible and strolled out of the alley bobbing his head to an imaginary beat. He planned to "accidentally" bump into her during a dance move and take whatever the girl had on her, he saw a Pigeotto behind her. She was a trainer, so she might have other Pokemon on her still in their Pokeballs. He wasn't much for stolen Pokemon, but they could be sold at a high price to one of the various criminal organizations that specialized in them, not to mention the high standing he had earned with Teams Rocket, Magma, and Galactic by being a reasonably reliable supplier of fairly rare Pokemon. He could cash in that standing even better than he could cash in the money. They were always helpful if he ever had an off day and got caught, which had only happened twice, and he planned to keep that record. He'd get this girl, easy peasy.

Sienna could have sworn she heard a faint clink from one of the alleyways. She paused to glance down the alley, but couldn't see anything out of the ordinary only shadows and cracking pavement. The trainer continued on her way back to the Gym. His trainer might have had the ears, but Frey had the eyes of a pidgeotto considering he was one. With sharp green eyes he glared at a faint outline in the shadows. When it shifted slightly, he landed with a silent flutter. "Otto." He called to his trainer, who had ventured a few feet ahead before noticing Frey had stopped. Sienna stood behind her pidgeotto, or rather Frey stood in front of Sienna. The pidgeotto doubted his trainer's fighting skills and if the thing in the alley was a threat he would have to do the fighting. He considered the possibility it might just be a Muk or some other pokemon sleeping in the alley. "Come on Frey, nothing's there. We really should get back to the Gym." Sienna spoke in a slightly hushed tone. It was worrisome that Frey had stopped, but the trainer still didn't see anything and started walking on again. "Come on Frey." She stressed this time. The pidgeotto obeyed with once last warning glare at the shadows and took off toward his trainer.

Chase kept his act as he emerged from his hiding place after the girl, he did a couple of innocent but inconspicuous dance moves just to add to the believability in case the Pokemon was watching, then spun around, bumping into the trainer, nearly knocking them both down, his hand reached into her bag almost invisibly fast and pulled out something, it was a container with PokeCash in it. He could tell by the weight and several other factors picked up in his life of crime. The container quickly disappeared into one of the folds of his flashy cape. He reached out to steady the girl, resisting the urge to take another grab in her bag in the process, which he normally would have done if the Pigeotto hadn't been there. He had assessed that there weren't anymore Pokeballs that he could see on her, and he couldn't risk looking through her bag. He filled his voice with worry and remorse, "I'm reeeally sorry. You okay?"

Sienna didn't even notice when the stranger emerged from his hiding place and was easily surprised when he suddenly bumped into her. She fell forward with a "Gah!", losing her balance momentarily in the process before gaining it again and standing upright to look at who bumped into her. She didn't notice, but her bag was an ounce or two emptier with the loss of her wallet. It didn't have much, but it was all she had after losing so many battles it was a mystery how in the world she got by. She blinked and looked at the mystery person. She definitely hadn't meet him around the city before. "No worries, I'm fine. Are you okay?" Then she remembered her manners "I'm Sienna by the way. And this is Frey, my pidgeotto." Sienna gestured to Frey, who had appeared at her side after he noticed she stopped. The bird pokemon tilted his head to one side. His green eyes narrowed as he tried to make sense of this new person. When did they get here? Frey fluffed his feathers and gave them a quick preen as he thought about it. Whoever this person was, he didn't trust them just yet.

Chase grinned, "Ya, I'm good. Sorry bout that, I wasn't payin attention to where I was going. My name's Chase. Nice to meet ya, Sienna, Frey." He made a motion as though he were tipping his hat to each in turn, "I'm new around here, so I was kind of lost. You mind telling me where there's a store or somethin?" He always liked going to stores, though he wasn't a big fan of shoplifting, due to it being easier to get caught, people always seemed to be distracted when they were leaving, and loaded when going in. Besides, it kept him from the hassle of actually shopping if he took other people's stuff.

The trainer couldn't help but smile at Chase's hat-tipping gesture. Then she thought about where a store might be. Sienna was fairly new to the city as well, she had only passed through it once or twice on her way through Zatao and didn't know her way around that great. She did remember, however, that there was a Mart near the Katarina gym. "I think there's one near the Gym, which is where I'm headed. I just started as an assistant there. I'm not sure if the Mart is open this late but you could always check." She replied. If they did get hopelessly lost, Frey could always lead them back to the Gym with his aerial view of the city and good sense of direction. Frey however wasn't exactly buying the thief's cheery gestures. There was a slight air of...falseness around them. Not completely, but still there. He decided to keep a sharp eye on Chase for now before taking any real action against him.

Ah, a gym assistant. This could be interesting. He always liked to pick up contacts in various places, even if they weren't aware of his lifestyle. It was always good to keep up with events that might attract crowds of highly distracted people to a cramped location where no one would notice even if he got sloppy. This could prove to be in his advantage. He smiled at them, the Pokemon was giving him the eye, which didn't surprise him much. Some Pokemon had a knack for sniffing out pickpockets and liars. This one didn't seem to be too upset by him, though, "Really? That's great! I hate to walk by myself too much. It gets really boring. Shall we leave" He grinned again, then made a sweeping motion with his arm, acting like someone from an old movie. He was fairly proud of his skill at being disarming, but he would have to keep an eye on the bird.
