The weather was the nicest it had been in weeks, and Lanzo found comfort in taking a stroll along a quiet trail. The sun was almost leading him forward, and his eyes could only squint from the unusual brightness that surrounded him. Usually winter days were full of clouds and cold, but today seemed different. It was sort of nice, even if the brightness was overwhelming.

The forests had always been desirable for him. It made it possible for him to blend in, and never really stick out, He tended to reside in forests that held all sorts of creatures, and when there were other Soquili breeds around, Lanzo knew that it was a safe-haven from any dangerous creatures. He could never survive in a forest full of creatures who demanded to demolish his half-blood. His parents had explained to him the lifestyle he had to live. And he wasn't an idiot. He'd move around from forest to forest when he'd get sick of the soquili running away from him, or bothering him for attention.

Luckily, in his current forest he had been rather undisturbed.

Lanzo's train of thought was soon interrupted, and his ears flicked as he heard a young bird chirping above him. He raised his eyes upward to notice the little thing nesting on a nearby tree branch. It was trying hard to be noisy and make a sound for itself. Was spring finally making it's way out of the cold? It probably was still too early, but if the sun was out that was a good sign at least. The warmth compelled him to wander and venture out for the day, and that in itself was a new idea for even him to get used to. He supposed he should enjoy it while it lasted.

Ambala hated winter. Like a dreadful spirit, the snowy season clung to one's body and sucked away all the warmth they had stored for survival. To hear the gruesome crunching of snow as she walked through the forest simply made her mane stand on end. Oh how she couldn't wait for the warm sun to gobble up this bothersome season. If only it would hurry. She missed the beauty of spring and the gifts it brought.

As the young mare trudged on her golden and orange eyes, similar to the colors of the sun that she loved so much, glanced from side to side. Recently she had come across the forest at night and had laid to rest under it's tall trees. Now that day had come, the awakening of the land brought the need in Ambala to explore.

Such a feeling was hard to explain. Need. Need as in want, want as in desire, desire as in constant craving. Never could she win a battle between her and her cravings, her wants and needs were just far too great to overcome.

Stepping out into the sun, Ambala squinted her brilliant eyes in an attempt to adjust them against the light. One...two...three...As soon as she finished her count she could see her surroundings to their fullest. Yet something else caught her eye. There, standing broadly amongst the trunks and limbs of the great trees was a stallion. Yet what set him apart from all the other men she had come into contact with were those wings...webbed like a fishes..and that tail! Pointed like a bee's stinger. How...peculiar!

A hard tha-dump sound cried out from her chest, as something tough began beating against Ambala's her ribs. Something was trying to get out. Her heart! Her heart was banging against her white bones in an attempt to free itself. Ambala had lost track of how many times her inner spirit did this. To lay eyes on such a creature had ignited the fire that fueled her excitement. Such a beast was so close.

Wait...Ambala paused in her thoughts to turn around and pick up the scattered pieces of her mind. He wasn't a monster. The young lass had to shake her head and remind herself that he was like her. Only with wings and a tail that possessed not a hair on it's black flesh.

Course, even though his looks didn't matter it all boiled down to how he was. He could be kind, shy, angry, and violent. Whether he would welcome her or tear her apart would all be decided on in just a moment.

For before her mind could fully grasp what her hooves were doing, Ambala was already weaving through the trees and towards this mysterious fellow.

"Excuse me....You, fellow in gray. Hey!" She bellowed, her experience as an adventurer giving her the courage she needed to approach the male without the slightest tremble in her voice.

Lanzo was most definitely spacing out. He continued to watch and pin point birds that chirped above him, as if not caring about the outside world. The sounds they were making were lovely and his ears flicked back and forth as if having a mind of their own. But suddenly, they felt a disturbance in the air. Lanzo heard another voice, one that was not as quiet and soothing as the birds. When his eyes rolled back towards the forest's grasps, he noticed a mare approaching him. Oh lord. When did a mare appear?!

He shook his mane out rather lazily before taking in the newly arrived figure. Why yes, he was indeed a fellow in grey. His sister always called out to him in a similar demeanor, so that was entertaining for him to remember. But unfortunately, he did not know this mare at all. He had no actual relationship with her, so why should he put any effort out? This was indeed complicated.

Before he could consider the decision any further, the mare was already closer and expecting him to respond. Well, damn. Lanzo didn't even have time to get away! Or let alone, think of a better plan! "Good day." he finally said, almost too awkwardly. His eyes watched her carefully and his body was stern and unwelcoming. But then again, his overall 'look' was the same as it always was. He rarely changed it up.

"... Can I help you?" the words finally came out of his mouth, and he tilted his head just as sternly. He wondered, was the mare lost? Is that why she approached him and called out to him? Why would she come so close? He probably looked stranger than what she was used to. He was perplexed, and couldn't figure the situation out.

Hopefully things would soon unfold in a much easy fashion. But until then, Lanzo couldn't stop thinking about it all.

Ambala watched the other with close eyes. Every move he made, from the lazy shake of his mane to the delayed response she caught. As goofy as it sounds, she was examining him. In an attempt to learn who he was, the mare had already begun picking out what was similar to the others she had met, and what was new to this lad.

Certainly she hadn't expected him to be so...well...formal. Ambala hated herself for thinking of it, since she never liked to stereotype someone, but she had expected the other to lunge at her; to attack, bite, or even yell. Just something that stood for what he appeared to be. After all, he looked like a creature from the raging fires rather than from a mother who was concerned over manners.

The young mare focused her bright eyes upon the other's light yellows as she took a step towards him. "Mm...No. Since I'm not in need of any assistance." Ambala remarked, turning down his question only to offer one up for him to answer. "What's wrong you with? Are you always so stiff?" With grace thought of only to belong to that of the cat breed, Ambala stepped around the winged stallion as her eyes traced over his form. "You know, if you hadn't moved I would have assumed you were some kind of statue."

That was a very true statement on her part. If this fellow hadn't turned his head or taken a few steps forward Ambala would have assumed he was a creation made by the two leggers. Of course, to be such a thing wouldn't have stopped her from investigating. The young stallion was stuck putting up with her whether he was made up of stone or flesh and blood.

"Ah!" Ambala's ears rose in alert as she realized something. A smile replaced her surprised look and she tilted her head to him in a sign of greeting, as if her intrusion had not been the first. "The name's Ambala, and who may you be my moving statue?"

Lanzo felt his eyes raise even more with each word the mare spoke of. His lip lifted into a frown, but he somehow was able to keep himself together. She hadn't made fun of him in any way, but there was something about the way she spoke that bothered him. The only reason he felt so angry was because she acted all cheery while accusing him of things that weren't her business. Why did mares always do that? "I wish I hadn't of moved." he finally said, in response. It was a truthful response, too.

The mare didn't seem phased at all by the way he looked or acted, and he wondered if he should act scarier so others would avoid him. Well, it was something to work on for the future. Plus, he could always go to his mother for advice on that sort of thing.

When she gave him her name, he sighed lightly and realized he was supposed to give her his name. "Lanzo." was all he said, and he grunted at the fact that he had caved. But, he wasn't heartless or overconfident in any way. He would be open to showing his emotions at least, and showing that he was indeed grumpy in this current moment.

But still, why was this mare wanting to talk to him? Is that what others did normally? "If your not in need of any assistance, why are you still here?" it may have seemed like a rude question, but to Lanzo it was perfectly aceptable. He had no idea why the mare would still linger around him.

His sisters always tried to teach him on how to act more socially, but he never found it enjoyable in any way. Was this mare just trying to be social? Ugh, he seriously couldn't tell anymore.

The other hardened like stone before Ambala's sunrise colored eyes as fast as a fly could zip around a flower. Upon his features she could find not a single weak point. There was no lapse in his emotions, for they remained about the same. Grumpy and annoyed.

Of course she did interrupt him...but recalling similar situations in her past, like all the rest he'd get over it. But this was for his own good! The poor thing looked like he was in need of some talking to. This land they were surrounded by held very little inhabitants that resembled themselves. Well...others such as herself at least. It was highly unlikely that there would be more like this fellow wandering through the tall trees. Not many soquilis walked around carrying bat wings upon their back.

Her ears twitched as they picked up the natural sounds occurring around them as they stood rooted in place. When the wind broke upon his words, Ambala found herself grinning from ear to ear. "Oh come now! Why wear that pout? You barely budged a muscle, I just saw you when ya did." Ambala rolled her eyes to express her slight frustration in the others silly regret.

"Do you really dislike opening that mouth of yours when someone comes looking for conversation? It's not like talking can kill you." A warm laugh leaped out of her throat once she finished. Ambala craned her head back to revel in her little joke as her body shook momentarily with a short sense of joy. Even if he didn't join her in the hearty chuckle it was still a humorous statement on her part. "You needn't fear of dying when you speak, you know. 'Least if you're dealing with little old me."

Of course the answer was probably something witty and befitting of the word, 'Yes' when it came to her question upon if he possessed a dislike in chatting.

"Ah?" Her brows arched for a moment and her head tilted to the right as he gave her his name. "Lanzo..." Ambala repeated solemnly. Even if there was no reason to worry about forgetting that peculiar name, she locked it away in her memories anyways.

Once more the warm colored lass rounded the others dark form, her eyes never leaving him. The orbs of reflecting sunlight turned for a moment to stare into the dark abyss of trees and foliage before they returned to gaze back into Lanzo's eyes. "I thought I could enjoy a nice chat with another. I'm lonely so I wanted to. What's wrong with such a thing?"
PostPosted: Sun Mar 01, 2009 9:25 pm

She was highly mistaken. It was entirely possible to die by one's own words, especially if they were stupid. One's life could be measured by a mere circumstance or a mere breath. But, Lanzo figured that such an explanation would be unnecessary at the moment. He would probably confuse her with his exotic logic and would also be wasting an effort since he doubted she'd listen to him. Pity, if only she knew. Words were definitely dangerous.

"I suppose with you I shan't have anything to worry about." The mare wasn't marking herself as intimidating, and from a common eye she was definitely opening up as the kinder type. Lanzo knew he had no reason to 'worry', so to speak. But unfortunately, it was the effort part he always had a hard time with. Why of all creatures did this mare have to choose him? Was it because he moved at the wrong moment?!

"Like I said, I probably won't satisfy your loneliness." he then admitted, while flicking his bangs out of his gaze. "If anything I'd probably add on to any boredom you were feeling. I don't really.. chat." He didn't mind coming out in the open with what he did and didn't do. Hopefully his truths would open the mares eyes on her current decision.

He soon realized that the mare needed a lesson on an important detail on life. Of course, it wasn't his place to pry, but something about the situation made him mad. Lanzo then strode forward and made a circle around her entirely. His eyes never left her's for a second, and he snorted loudly before stopping in front of her again. "You really should consider yourself lucky. I'm not one of those idiotic monsters that roams throughout the lands eating everybody. But, I'm also not a saint." Unfortunately his temper was alive in it's own ways, thanks to his genetics and mother. "What makes you think you can shuffle up to monsters without harm? Are you trying to walk into your death?"

He paused finally, and closed his eyes with a frown. "If it wasn't me standing here, you'd probably be dead by any other kalona." Did she even realize that?! One thing he could do by his family's wishes was bring the truth to those who mistook it or were uneducated about it. With her, he didn't know what it was. ""The only thing I can do as a creature is point out your fault. You really should be more careful." Oh, how his siblings would be proud.

Once more that silly grin the mare possessed crossed over from the whirl of emotions to make it's home upon her face. Her eyes flickered as the light shone in them danced with amusement. "Well, I beg to differ. You're chatting right now are you not?" Ambala chimed as she blew from her face various strands of her disobedient mane. "I find you to be pretty interesting, Lanzo." She remarked, using his name to make the statement stick to his ears like pesky tree sap. After meeting dozens of soquili and other creatures of nature, Ambala had discovered that addressing someone by their name always caught their wandering attention rather than just saying 'you'.

Now, for such a calm and lonesome looking stallion, what he did next was something that the wild fire mare hadn't been expecting in the slightest. His eyes, the color of the pale yellow moon, tugged at her soul and made that smile she wore hide in embarrassment and awkward fear. Ambala had barely finished her statement when Lanzo made his trip around her and stopped just a few feet from her nose.

Yet the fear that had caused her joy to hide did not keep it's torn blanket over bright cheer for long. Well...it wasn't truly cheer, more along the lines of determination.

His questions had the mare's heart racing in seconds while her mind sprang to find a suitable answer. There were so many ideas, yet nothing seemed to fit or was too hard to explain. It was like trying to gather water in ones hoof. Impossible. For the answer always just rolled away and back into the murky stream.

Over the past months, Ambala had become a determined young lass, who sought far and wide for thrills and adventure. Swimming in deep water, leaping off high cliffs, racing the wildest beasts had become something she loved. Yet when it came down as to explaining why she did what she did the answer always came out rather idiotic sounding.

"I don't know."

That was it. The answer. That same stupid answer that had caused so many to back away and roll their eyes, calling her the fool of the day. But that was all she could say. For the feeling of encountering danger and living through it, to walking through a lost temple overtaken by majestic green plants that laced through it's columns and floor like silk was a love she could not ever fully describe.

Yet the mare knew she'd have to explain further when it came to this one, this Lanzo fellow. His eyes were too deep and too bold to avoid dappling in her thoughts for an explanation. With a heavy sigh coated in regret, Ambala covered her frustration with a calm smile as she spoke. "Well...To say the least, I don't think much about it. I just do what I feel like in that moment. Now don't look at me like that, I know what you're thinking. What a fool, right? But that factor. The what if factor. It makes my blood feel like it's on fire, it's...it's a feeling I'll never be able to grasp it's that good!" As she spoke such bold and yet foolish words her smile that once was weak grew strong. It mimicked the emotion seen within her eyes to say the least.

Ambala laughed and shook her head as she went on. "In encountering great monsters, which certainly is not you I might add, I appreciate every minute I'm given to live and feel such an incredible thing. Now, if I didn't come across danger, well, what kind of life would I live? A pretty dull one I bet."

Shame could not be found resting on the mare's back where it may have sat just days before as she poured her soul out to the winged stallion. Her feelings were raw as she gave each and every one up for the other to inspect. Before long she was standing closer to him, a sly glint in her eyes as she did so. "Guess I just got lucky finding you. Funny how life is like that, no? Being careful is silly thing since you restrain yourself." She exhaled a great sigh and shook her head as her tail swayed from side to side. What I'd like to know now is this, have you ever done anything bold, Lanzo? Since you can't question my actions without ever having done anything like them. It's just not fair."

The lass puffed out her chest and once again whipped her head back to shake away the thick locks of hair. "Have you ever jumped off a cliff and into a river perhaps? Not knowing if you'd land safely or not? Or have you faced off against a raging bull whose den you accidentally stumbled into one night? With those wings of yours," Ambala nodded her head to the bat wings poking out from his shoulder blades. "Ever put those into good use? Doing anything that got your heart pumping a mile a minute? Have you ever done anything thrilling at all?"
PostPosted: Sat Mar 07, 2009 8:05 am

Hm, this mare was indeed strange. She seemed to have a great longing for adventure, and Lanzo couldn't fathom how danger meant that much to her. He was quiet all throughout her speeches, finding it unnecessary to interrupt her moment of thoughts. It was apparent that no one else had questioned her before, and it sounded as though she was venting on the issue. Why was it that Lanzo was now the bearer of bad news? He had intertwined himself with this mare's life at the moment, and it seemed there was no fast way of getting out of it. So, he supposed he could just listen and spring some knowledge on to her situation. His knowledge was that helpful, afterall.

"It's not my place to judge you." he finally said, while shaking his head strongly. "That wasn't my intention, either. But I will say that I disagree with you. Your love for danger and adventure is your own, I cannot speak with the same kind of love for such things." His lip twitched lightly, and he flicked his hair out of his vision. He had never been a fan, even since his youth. It all seemed like such a waste of time to him.

But, she seemed to think that he too loved to those types of situations. And she was clearly false. "Just because I look this way doesn't mean that I enjoy thrill. I am obviously much different than you. I don't jump off cliffs or look for monsters." Sigh. Maybe his sister was more into searching for monsters. He honestly found most of them to be so unintelligent and stupid.

"My heart beats slowly all of the time. That is where I am comfortable. But you, it sounds like you love a good race of life." Hopefully she would start to understand that not everybody acted as one would think. Like, for example, he assumed she'd flee from danger from first glance. But she had surprised him.

He assumed he was also surprising her, but she needed to be prepared for these kinds of truths to life. Soquili had their own brains for this reason, and life gave everybody their own kinds of satisfactions.

Ambala's ears perked and swiveled upon her head as the broad chested male spoke when she ran out of things to say. His deep voice was quite alluring as it swayed upon the incoming breeze. It drifted and pierced her ear drums, forcing her to pay attention to his thoughts. The bold mare's eyes peered into Lanzo's once more as she listened carefully to his words. Even behind his heavy mane she could feel the power those orbs of his gave off. Every time she met his stern gaze, Ambala was reminded of the dreadful cold and shivers of remembrance raced down her spine.

"Well thank you." Ambala uttered when Lanzo took his breath after the first words he uttered once she had finished her speech. Oddly enough, she was thankful that he had not been judging her. Was it because at the moment, as he spoke with confidence and yet chilling calm she felt inferior to him? Like a little ant beside a stunning butterfly. He was powerful and held a great span of intelligence. It wasn't fair.

Concerning his feelings compared to her own, Ambala was rather troubled. Never had she come across someone who did not hold just an ounce of love for adventure. Not even a sprinkle of the adventurer's will lied in the other's heart it seemed. At least she could pity him for that. It was rather sad. Was that the right word to describe what she thought as he went on speaking. Even if she truly had no right to feel sorry for the other. It was his choice but she just couldn't help it.

"Ah! Now hold on, I wasn't judging you on your looks!" She piped in a sudden interruption. Her auburn brows met together across a crease that had formed upon her forehead. "I was just saying you should take advantage of that gift ya got." Once again she motioned towards his stunning wings. What she would give to possess such an ability.

The spirits knew she was surprised to come across such a calm stallion who did not care for the thrills that life brought. Some would say he was a dull specimen, but this Lanzo intrigued her to no end. She felt pity, jealousy, anger, and what one may describe as adoration for the other. Ambala didn't like that word, adoration, but she admired him for how he held himself and how he spoke. But still...He was the road block that stood before her now in her minds quest to understand others. Another emotion was spurred then. Frustration. Her brain ached trying to figure him out but there were too many things about him, too many secrets she couldn't dig up right now.

Suddenly her eyes narrowed and a frown crossed her lips where the smile had been sitting earlier on. Perhaps if she looked the way he did she could have a better understanding. With his stark expression and grumbling tone mimicked on her face Ambala took a similar statue-like stance before Lanzo. For a few moments Ambala stood before the other in utter silence as she stared off over the lad's shoulder. Her heart was beating slowly now but no comfort rested on her back. In a fierce shake of her head Ambala broke the frozen spell and glared up at Lanzo. She snorted and stamped a hoof stubbornly upon the ground. "Okay, tell me Lanzo, how do you do it? Ya know, how do you just stand around and be at peace with yourself? What's the trick?"

Gift? His traits were no such thing. Never had his parents or siblings referred to what they were born with as gifts. He found his family background and history to be a much bigger gift then what appeared on his body. Why was it that other soquili were obsessed with his wings or tail? If anything he had been raised to look past them, since they were of little importance in reality. He had other things to cherish about himself anyways. "I do take advantage of the gift I have, which is my brain." As if he'd seriously give in to her silly words. He knew what she meant but chose to ignore the real context behind her thoughts.

Her attempt at silence was strange, and he watched as she struggled and glared, pouted and puffed. He didn't understand why she was trying to change herself all of the sudden. At the beginning of their meeting Ambala was energetic and confident, and now she was discomforted and acting strange. Was he really affecting her mood that much? Well, it was sort of hilarious when he thought about it. All he was using was the power of his words. But, she seemed to be overanalyzing his thought process a bit too much. He just couldn't understand why,

"I don't do anything." he finally answered, while brushing her question off with a quiet body tilt. "Why do you want to know so badly?" It was a strange question, since she seemed to misunderstand his silence. He wasn't at peace with himself. To him it was impossible for anybody to truly be at peace. As long as one's mind battled and thought, someone would be consumed by thoughts forever. To him such an occurrence in the brain was sort of miraculous. He respected his mind for that reasons and chose to overuse it at all times. But, if Ambala wanted to believe that he carried a satisfying peace, then so be it. It wouldn't be the first time he found her thought-process as strange.

"I'm sure many things in your life have always been simple and easy. At this moment though, you have come across me, and now your little happy world has been shattered with a strange deceit. I'll be honest though, you are making me to be far more complicated than I really am. I believe you are looking at this entire situation out of context." ... Had she ever heard of personalities being different? To Lanzo, their differences were as simple as that! "What will you gain by trying to analyze me, anyways? I don't believe I gave you permission to do that anyhow." It would be a waste of her time. Lanzo was as content as could be with himself, but the mare seemed quite opposite.

“Your brain?” Suddenly, like a ripple in that broke the peaceful stream’s flow, Ambala’s body shook with laughter. When her head tilted up to look at the lone stallion she wore a wide grin. That was a first. Many stallions boasted of their strength and the various gifts their forms held yet this guy ‘s answer resembled none of theirs. He was using intelligence and by the sound of it that’s one of the top five things he valued. Even though his words were quick and meant to give out only facts, Ambala found them to be a breath of fresh air. Course this young male fit the profile of a whirling gust of cold wind better than a cutesy twirling spring flurry.

“Nice reply,” Can you believe you’re the first one to ever say it?” She shook her mane out before continuing her words. “Ya know, I never thought of my brain as a gift but now that you say it I see where you’re coming from.” Her eyes fell down to stare at her cream colored hooves that had become mud splattered from her long trek. Slightly hidden in the grass Ambala shifted so she could make them out better under the bushy grass; as if she didn’t they’d vanish in the ground. Licking her lips for a moment as she examined the pieces of her that kept her attached to the ground, Ambala finally thought up what she wanted. “I always thought these four babies were my gift, since they got me where I wanted to go, but I wouldn’t have even thought to go there without my brain.”

At last the lass’s eyes turned back onto the deep thinker. His thinking was so different than her own. Ambala was the simple cave drawings on the stonewall while Lanzo was the exquisite scripts written in unknown letters that at various points she had seen but never could read. Everything she said he had a better answer. It made her feel…stupid?

A shudder raced down her spine at the dreadful thought and Ambala visibly braced herself against the shiver. Her muscles tightened and she cringed as her entire body grew cold for a few moments. Anxiety tore at Ambs deep colored flesh and ate it up greedily only leaving a trace of tingling in its wake.

The question he asked was answered as Ambala tilted from left to right once she figured she had nothing truly inspiring to say. “I guess I was just curious.” Oh yes, what a brilliant answer….She had become what, scribbles upon a scroll now? Quickly Ambala added: “Since I travel around, I see and meet all kinds of different horses. It’s become one of my enjoyments to learn more about them. Their personality, history, the quirks they possess. Just what they do with their days and how they live their lives peeks my interest.” Was that better? Did she come off as a creature who used her brain?

Honestly now Ambala didn't know if she was trying to impress him or outdo him.

A violent twinge hit the barrier to Ambala's heart as Lanzo's final words cut into her. Simple and easy? Happy little world? Well those were two new phrases to add to the books concerning her childhood. Yet Ambala held her tongue and listen patiently to Lanzo's words. Maybe she had been over analyzing him and placing him in a category of men before he really had a chance to reveal this snarky but intelligent personality.

"Hmmm...." Ambala stared up at Lanzo with critical eyes that no longer looked to pick him a part and lie each piece on a silver table. With a great deep breath the lass sucked in air and released it back into the realm of the living in one great puff.

"Sorry." She stated after a moment or two to find the correct word. Of course she wasn't done, "I'm sorry if I barged in on you just out of the blue. I must have seemed like an annoying bugger. Fine, she'd apologize for her forward antics but only because he was becoming a challenge...and since now she felt that she had winded up in the wrong. "But like I said, I enjoy meeting up with others since everyone's story is different. Makes my travels all the more exciting. You just seemed like someone who'd offer up good conversation as odd as that may sound." The solemn look formed back into the grin as she finished her apology, "Gotta say you've certainly sparked my interest in how you see things. I've never met a guy quite like you before.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 29, 2009 10:24 am

Her laughter didn't really shock him, but he trailed his eyes elsewhere instead of watching the awkward bout of emotion. He only laughed on certain occasions, since he didn't find the emotion as important to him per-se. It took too much effort to bustle up to all of those feelings. But then again, to him many things did. "I'm glad you are enjoying yourself." he then added, with a usual sarcasm. "But at least you value your own brain and legs. They make a good team on most occasions." And, it seemed as though Ambala had traveled quite a lot in her days. Most soquili preferred the lazy life. Luckily for his family he was brought up to want to travel as well. He would have hated being stuck in one place forever.

Speaking of which, when she answered him about her curiosity, he brought his sharp eyes back towards hers and grunted lightly. "Being curious also has it's ups and downs. But at least you've been able to experience much of the world on your own. A lot of creatures wouldn't be able admit to such a thing." So, she had that strength of her own. She was well cultured and obviously able since she was still alive at this point. Hopefully her sense of adventure would continue to be in her favor rather than in any demise. There were lots of dangers in the world, but some were luckily to evade them whenever possible.

He was somewhat surprised at her random apology. It seemed out of character for her. Was she trying to impress him? Fluff up the situation by giving him a few compliments here and there? Goodness. She should have known at this point in their meeting that that certainly wasn't Lanzo's focal point. "I don't really see why I perk up your interest so much." he finally added, with a light sigh. "But I suppose I can add a page in to your book of stories, if that is what you wish for so badly. I would never want to ignore true passion if knowledge is what you seek." He wasn't a b*****d, for goodness sakes. Plus, the mare had explained herself well at this point. She had put up with him rather well and was commendable for many other reasons.

"So, what is it you would like to know about me?"
