after the Biologic Space Laboratories research station smashed into SR388 the federation reeled from the supposed betrayal by Samus Aran. the full details didn't get out for some time, around 2 months passed before she was deemed innocent of what charges were against her. though she still hadn't surfaced after the event. in this time two voices were beginning to arise in the federation. one side promoting research into biology while the other promoting research into metal crafting... the voices while small in the sense of things, had drastic impacts, while not directly through there meetings with the council.

no one suspected anything, not troopers, not the council, not the hunters, and if anyone the pirates were rather clueless... if not ecstatic about new targets coming to light every day. no one seemed to realize that they were all caught up in one big civil war... a civil war where no one knew they were fighting or what was being fought for.... there were no clues, no signs, nothing to make anyone remotely aware of what was going on... least not on the surface. one had to dig... and digging was dangerous.


the two factions used increased pirate attacks to mask countless murders of troopers or federation members who got too close to the truth. each side had not only hired mercenaries, but had also secretly killed over half of those that they hired... staging pirate ambushes, they played everyone like two people playing one big game of chess... each time someone moved, people died, and places got attacked. each of their moves were a simultaneous thousand actions across the galaxy, leaking information in a way that no one would find out, or suspect a thing. the pirates were all too willing to play along, not that they suspected a thing in the first place. even the great mother brain who was thought to be long dead didn't suspect or detect anything.

the winner of this stealth war... would be the one who finished their project first. one faction was secretly developing bio weapon super soldiers by using the X parasite and drastically splicing it's DNA and growing troopers inside test tubes. the other faction, was recreating and growing a new kind of bio armor... who would win this war is anyone's guess...
