Sariel trotted through the new grass with a serene look painted across her dark features. Spring was her favorite time of year, a time of renewal and birth (also, good weather without the bugs).
The other members of her small tribe were all doing their own thing today, so there was no one to look after back at the cave and Sariel had taken advantage of the down-time. She loved her cavemates dearly, but even she was starting to get a little cabin fever; the spring weather had come at the perfect time.
Reaching the forest line, she pressed onwards until she found a sunbathed clearing. A large rock was in the middle of it and she delightedly hopped up to bask in the warm rays and nap.

Kiyoshi bid Akuma and Mebaiah a temporary farewell as he collected his bag and headed for the Jungle of sleep, to replenish their food supply. It would probably take a few weeks to collect everything he needed, but he always looked forward to these trips. he got time alone, with nature as his only companion, but most of all... he got to look for the woman that escaped him. even after all these years he was still looking.
after a few hours of hiking, he stopped for a brief break to quench his thirst, and glance over the map he made after his mother's death. The scenery was surreal; mossy trees with vines crawling up them, colorful birds and insects decorating the trees. 'Ha! This is the only place where the trees look like Christmas, every day.' the thought made him chuckle, and he finished his small snack and took another sip of water before packing up and continuing his journey.

Sariel was nearly asleep, when suddenly a strange feeling came over her and a sharp pain pricked her flanks.
'That's odd...' she thought to herself, lifting her head and looking back to see the shape of an arrow dispersing into the light of the afternoon sun.
A feeling began pulling her out of the clearing and deeper into the forest, towards the transition area and on into the Jungles of Sleep. Briefly pondering the consequences of following the feeling, she forged onward.

Kiyoshi had made a about four stops and could already crossed half of the stuff on his list off. "Huh, Well, off to the scrub forest already..." he mumbled as he looked over the items left. he finished adjusting the items according to weight in his travel bag and slid it back around his neck, "Well, to the Scrub Forest then..." he sighed as he took one last good look around for his lovely Sariel. with a slight frown in his lips he began his sluggish shuffle to the forest.
About two miles in, Kiyoshi suddenly felt a sharp pain in his quad and stumbled to the ground to get a look at it. There was a tiny golden arrow with soft pink tail feathers and a deep red heart for an arrow head. there was a small note that read: "Go get her, Kiyoshi." with a small swirly heart on each side of it. then the arrow burst into sparkly pink and red lights and drifted away in the wind.
Kiyoshi stood back up and looked around for the culprit, and failed to identify, but as he turned to resume following the trail he got this weird feathery sensation in his stomach. like he had eaten a dozen fuzzy caterpillars, and they were taking their revenge by torturing him with this tantalizing feeling.... "Sariel..."
It was the only thing on his mind. the fuzzy feeling grew through his upper torso, up his long neck, caressed his head in a odd warmth and blurred his vision. all he could see was blackness, and flashes of rainbow colors. he could hear a soft giggle coming from somewhere in the forest and someone calling his name. the feeling confused him at first, and then it whispered in his ear, 'Kiyoshi'
It was so soothing, and tugged at him; all of him. he needed her, longed for her, and for the first time in a long time his search was driven by an obsessive desire to caress her, to love her. he needed her slender, beautiful body, and her soft feathery wings. he wanted to taste her to feel her in every way.
His blackened vision opened to reveal a single trail; a trail that lead to her. Kiyoshi took off at a dizzy pace, but soon was at an all out sprint through the jungle, following the teasing voices and the small trail that he knew lead to his love.

'Kiyoshi' she whispered unconsciously as the feeling got stronger. Her pace picked up and she flattened her wings to her body to reduce the drag as she sprinted towards the feeling.
All of a sudden, she ran into a familiar body and fell to the ground, tangled up with the Pan'lun she had resigned herself to never seeing again.
Above the two, a cherubic man hovered invisible, smirking like a Cheshire cat at the success of his plot.
'Enjoy you two, sorry I was late...'

when he collided with her his vision exploded into fireworks of rainbow colors and his mind tingled with anticipation. he could feel the redness growing along his prominent cheek bones and couldn't take the time to stop holding her to care. he knew what had hit him, it was too familiar to forget. 'Just like last time,' he thought as his body coiled her tighter into a firm embrace. He kissed her forehead and tears began to stream from his eyes, "So there are such things as miracles..." he whispered into her ear, as he loosened his grip on her.

'Kiyoshi' she breathed, knowing who it was immediately and unlike last time, making no move to disentangle herself.
She saw the tears rolling down his long face, and kissed them away. She couldn't find the words to express her emotions at the moment, so she just sat there, with him. They were finally reunited and it was as if the five years had never happened.
Gazing into his eyes, Sariel whispered, "I missed you, Kiyoshi."

Kiyoshi kissed her softly and began stroking down her back. she felt like silk to the touch and just being able to feel her sent waves of pleasure through him. "I've missed you more than words can express, love... but let's not speak of the past. We're together now, and that's all that matters." he kissed her again, soft, controlling, loving, but deep down he was straining to refrain from what he really wanted to do.

Sariel came back to herself then, (though she was quite enjoying where this encounter with her long lost love was heading) and realized that she had been gone for far longer than she had expected. The sun was beginning to set in the west, and she knew that Anette and the others were expecting her back several hours ago...
"Kiyoshi, stop that now. I need to get back!" she exclaimed.
She jumped from her position in his arms, and looked around before sheepishly realizing she had no idea where they were.
She looked over her shoulder at him, "Eh...could you help me get back, love? I seem to be lost..."

He smiled and got to his feet, "Where are you headed? I was on my way to the scrub forest to snag a few things on my list, then back home up at Crater lake, but i can make a special stop for a special someone." he crooned as he nuzzled her nose.

She leaned into the contact, flashing back to a few moments ago for a second, before shaking herself and stealing her resolve...time enough for that later.
Sariel looked at the sun, and decided that she wasn't as lost as she had previously thought, "Well, I'm actually pretty sure it's this way...follow me, love."
They traveled for a surprisingly small amount of time before things started to look familiar. The occasional crystal statue stuck out of the grass, and Anette's unique style of 'gardening' began to become apparent.
"We're almost there...you can see where I've been living after I...well, after I gave up looking for you..." she trailed off, slowing her pace and looking downcast before remembering that Kiyoshi was there with her now, and she wasn't going to let him get away ever again.

"If you kept me in mind you never gave up," he said, his lips curving into a slight smile. he brushed up along side her and kissed her cheek, "Do you enjoy where you're living?" he asked as he looked over the small statues and noted the unique display of sculptures in the area, "Do you know who made all of these...?" he mumbled as his eyes fixed on a rather odd one that he had to stop and think about for a minute, "They're quite...... unique?" he added as he continued to follow her.

Sariel laughed, brief melancholy forgotten for the moment; "Yes, my companion, Anette, is a sculptor and occasionally has eccentric tastes..."
Pulling him over towards one statue in particular, she explained that it was her favorite, "And Anette says that she made it when she met me. Its supposed to be a representation of my inner being or something...she's a bit touched in the head at times."
The statue was about two feet tall and a barely discernable figure was present inside a wash of motion. Tides of rock, like water, curled around the figure and it appeared to be dancing. The setting sun occasionally lit upon it and it sparkled pleasingly.
"I think its pretty to look at anyway...you should see her statue garden a few hundred yards passed here; when the sun hits it in the morning it's like walking through a garden of light..." she trailed off, imagining - or perhaps remembering.

He watched as she drifted down the path in her land of fantasy and smiled, "Just like...." he looked away from the path turning a bit pale as Cupid's mind tingling effects began to loose it's potency, "Akuma..."
Kiyoshi looked backto see the dark path into the jungle and thought about what his future would hold if he turned back now; darkness, loneliness... with little pockets of light and hope known as Akuma.
And the path ahead, well it was easy to see, Light, clarity, happiness, love... but what of the child he would leave behind. could he do that? Leave a child that depended on him and his return.
It did not need to be decided yet. he still had a good week or two before the journey home must be made. for now he turns to the light; the warmth of his lovers arms, and the people he will meet when he returns her home.

Continuing to drift down the path, Sariel realized the Kiyoshi wasn't following her anymore so she turned and called for him to hurry as the were almost to the cave.
He complied and she ran off again, uncharacteristically jovial. The high of the strange feelings that had likely spawned from that arrow she had seen was wearing off, and in its place a blissful happiness was developing.
"Heey, guys; come outside! I have someone for you to meet!"
Anette, who was concentrating on another statue, looked up and greeted the two, "Hello, who might you be? Is this the notorious Kiyoshi you have been searching for, my dear?"
Sariel had grown used to Anette's strange way of knowing things, "Yes, this is my Kiyoshi. The oddest things happened on my walk today...I'll tell you about it later."
Sariel looked to Kiyoshi and introduced the painters that had assembled outside of the cave, wondering what could be important enough to have Sariel shouting in anything other than anger at their antics.
"From left to right, Zulimar, Khafra, Nerina, Persephone, and the one hiding over there is Jade. This, is Kiyoshi." she introduced.
Immediately, Nerina jumped forward and exclaimed, "You mean, that Kiyoshi?! The one from your story the other night?"
Sariel smiled and nodded, "Yes, that Kiyoshi."
