Kabocha was NOT happy. His father was forcing him to go to the park. While his idiot older brother seemed excited about this and had run off to go play as soon as they'd gotten there, the younger boy was standing near the bench where Talner was sitting. Kabocha's arms were crossed over his chest. "Don't like." He glared at his father, who sighed.
"Go play... it won't hurt you."
Kabocha looked down at his clothing, which was his usual suit. Now he knew why his father had tried to get him to wear that horrendous outfit from earlier. But... why would he want to wear something like that? He needed good, proper clothes. He'd just not 'play' like his father wanted. Playing got you dirty, as he could tell from the fact that Nate was already muddy and they'd only been there for five minutes. "I want to go home."
Talner sighed and ignored the boy. The kid needed to loosen up... and act his own age. He swore that Kabocha and Nate were mixed up and needed to swap bodies...

Puck on the other hand had no problem running, jumping, squealing and playing as he entered the park with two Siberian Huskies on his tail. They pounced on him, sending the poor boy to the dirt but he laughed the whole way down jumping up to dust himself off and run away so the dogs could chase him.
His guardian was off to the side leaning against a tree taking a much needed smoke break. He gave a soft chuckle as he watched the mutts play with his son. That word still startled him, never in a million years did he think he'd have a child of his own, let alone adopt one but there he was in his multicolored hair glory.
He still refused to utter more than was necessary, almost to the point of him not speaking at all. Even after visiting a few doctors on this, all tests showed he was a healthy boy. His unwillingness to speak was something the two of them would have to over come in time but for now, Xan just figured it best to let it be.
Puck lay flat on his back after running and squealing happily among the dogs. His chest heaving in and out gasping much needed air. It was simply by way of his keen nose for sniffing out sweet smells that his pumpkin orange eyes fell on a pumpkin clad youth his own age. Turning right side up he remained stretched flat on his stomach feet waving in the air. "Sweet." He peeped the only word he would muster in response to the boys yummy scent. Yes, Puck would be mindful to lick this child and see what he tasted like. If he was as sweet as his brother, Gale then he'd have a new friend in no time.

Kabocha glanced over as he heard barking. What...? He just stared in disbelief as a boy his own age was chased around by two rather large dogs. He was even letting them pounce him! He heard Puck's statement and, frowning, sniffed at the air. There was a sweet smell to the air... one that was kind of hard to place.
"Your clothes are messed up." The boy stated, frowning.

"Sweet." He repeated standing to his feet and dusting off. He didn't mind a little dirt that's what baths and laundry was for. If he didn't enjoy himself now then he'd be an old grumpy man like his father at some point. Moving forward, dogs following after, he stopped short of Kobacha smiling and pointing at himself. "Puck." He offered his name and held out his hand to shake looking to Kobacha's guardian who was standing nearby.

Kabocha just stared at this boy for a bit. "My name is Kabocha. It's a pleasure to meet you." He paused for a moment before shaking the other boy's hand. He frowned at the hand and pulled a handkerchief out of a pocket with his clean hand to wipe the dirty hand off.
Curious, he peered around the candycorn boy to the two dogs.

Noting Kobacha's attention on the dogs, Puck smiled hugging Atreyu the black one, while the brow one, Pantera came over to sniff at the Pumpkin pocky boy.
"Ah... Pantera." He pointed to the Huskie with a smile then patted the dog in his presence. "Atreyu." This was all he mustered in greeting as Atreyu came over to give Kobacha a friendly sniff and nuzzle of his nose.

The boy peered curiously at the dog that came to inspect him, starting to reach out towards it before pausing. "It's not going to... bite or anything, is it?" He didn't want to get hurt... plus blood was near impossible to get out of clothing.

Puck shook his head indicating the dogs wouldn't harm him. After all they were always with him to keep the pocky boy out of trouble and out of busy streets since he liked to inspect the moving vehicles up close. Pantera moved forward more sniffing at Kobacha before sitting in front of him ducking her head for him to pet. Atreyu just sat to the side watching the boy carefully with his mate.

Kabocha relaxed a bit and pet Pantera's head. "We don't have any dogs. Or any pets. Probably because Nate would set their fur on fire..." Sometimes... having an older brother who couldn't control his own skill sucked. Sometimes it sucked hard. At least the upside was that there weren't much for hand-me-downs in clothing... which this boy was very grateful for.

Puck didn't understand why Kobacha's guardian wouldn't allow him to have any dogs. They were the most fun creatures that he knew... at the very least. Pantera gave a soft rumble that was close to a purr for a dog as she didn't mind being petted. Atreyu remained vigil but otherwise uninterested.
Puck came over to hold out his hand. "Friend?"

Kabocha smiled and nodded, taking the other boy's hand. "Friend." He stood there for a moment. Now what? What did friends do? "Uh... what do you want to do?" He hoped it wouldn't be something that would ruin his clothes, but he was guessing from the state of Puck's attire that that wouldn't be the case.
