It seemed that even with Cresil's grown and more mature body she was still uncomfortable with the idea of flying.

She promised herself that she would practice every day even though she hated the thought of being hoisted in the air. For some reason the idea of flying came easily for her many siblings, but in her own opinion it was a worthless art. She was plenty fast when running, but her father begged to differ. He demanded that she learn to fly, since she had the wings to allow it. For today she awoke extra early so the wind would not disturb her awkward wings. She also returned to a familiar field that was helpful to the training in space and silence.

She would continue practicing only because her father hoped to see her gliding along with her other siblings some day. Although it wasn't her own personal goal, she found it important to at least try. Everyone else seemed to figure it out. So, clearly it couldn't be that hard.

When she felt positioned and ready, she trotted forward and flapped her wings quickly and carefully. With almost no effort, she found herself bobbing into the air's grasp. But, seconds later she could only lower herself and gasp for air. The feeling was... overwhelming. Why didn't she like it? Could she ever get comfortable?

She decided to rest for a second and evaluate the situation. When she felt ready, she hopped into the air again, and repeated the process three more times. She probably looked silly, but that was the least of her worries! Dammit, with lots of practice it would HAVE to come to her eventually as a skill. But, until then, she would definitely struggle like an idiot.

The things she did for her family...

Andor grumbled to himself as he trudged through the forest, wandering all night had left him very grumpy and... paranoid. He was tired, which meant he would be less responsive toward noise and slower to react. What bugged him more than being tired, was the fact that he wasn't sure if he cared any longer. Perhaps death was worse than sleeping, eating and wandering, waiting for the next horrific thing to happen. If he died he'd be relieved of all pain and suffering, he'd finally cease to exist and for once he'd no longer worry. Committing suicide wasn't high on his priority list though, something in the back of his mind screamed at him, though he didn't really know what it was saying, he just assumed it mean no.

Suddenly the stallion stopped and lowered his head, the trees were thinning and there seemed to be a clearing up ahead. He should have been relieved to see the sky once again, not that he ever really appreciated its beauty, but instead his ears flattened against his skull and his nostrils flared. He smelled something, it was feminine and equine, something he really didn't want to deal with right now. He turned to leave but stood still, staring at the dark, dense, forest. Did he really want to go back through it, waiting for whatever dangers there were hiding in its depths to pick him off while he was tired? The way he saw it there were two choices... and both looked grim.

Deciding he was better off facing his doom right away, Andor headed to toward the clearing. He kept his head down, ears back and blue eyes glancing every which way, advancing slowly, he finally came to see the "threat". Instead of making his presence known, he watched from the sidelines, hoping he was downwind so his scent wouldn't pick up. Maybe if he was lucky he could take a cat nap or... his thought train stopped there as he watched the field lurker fumbling around, flapping her wings. What was she doing?

Cresil had used the field for many other training sessions and so far all of them had gone undisturbed. So, the concept of someone watching was far away in her mind. And truthfully she didn't care if someone was bored enough to watch her struggle. If it could be entertaining for them, well, then at least someone else was having fun somehow. She certainly wasn't!

With a loud 'hmph!' she finally stopped herself when she had finished with her sixth try. Her mouth was gasping loudly for air and her wings were rather tired from all of the 'attempts' to fly. From what her siblings had told her, if Cresil stayed in the air and climbed higher she'd find it much easier to swing around and glide. The hardest part was ascending and descending to the air, and so far that wasn't even a problem for her.

She supposed she should reorganize her training entirely and fix whatever mental quarrel was stopping her from succeeding. But, rather then doing anything for the moment, she decided to lower herself to the ground and close her eyes lightly. When she was hoisted and comfortable with her legs curled together, she allowed her wings to wiggle naturally from a breeze that had surrounded her.

Was it her mind that was stopping her from flying? She tried hard to envision herself in the air, but when she realized how ugly that idea was, her eyes opened up instantly. She groaned rather loudly before trying the silent training once again.

Why the hell did people train, anyhow? Did it even work?! At this point, she was seriously doubting it. Or maybe she should give up on herself entirely! That in itself was another reoccurrence in her daily life. Wait, wasn't she supposed to be training? "CURSE IT ALL!" she finally yelled, while leaning backwards and falling completely to the ground. And with that, her mind stopped. And the silence slowly returned.

Paradise.

Andor wasn't really interested in what the mare was doing, nor was he interested in staying here, but he didn't really see what choice he had. His head was pounding, ears were ringing and his legs felt as if he'd run six different marathons in a row. He was so incredibly tired but he couldn't let his guard down. Never let his guard down... he thought to himself, trailing off as he closed his eyes for a moment. The lion-like tail that had been swishing behind him idly stopped moving, his breathing slowed and he almost felt at peace.

The stallion rarely slept, catnaps and keeping one eye open at all times contributed to the dark circles around his eyes. When he did sleep it was a rare moment and often ocurred at the strangest times. Like now, he was sound asleep, worried only about the cute, harmless bunny rabbits bouncing around in his dreams. Why he was dreaming about bunnies, no one will ever know. Everything seemed close to perfect until Andor heard something, his eyes quickly popped open, his ears laid flat to his skull. He was on his guard until he finally realized what the noise had been... the thing in the field had been yelling. All he could do at that point was glare.

Then he got to thinking and eventually became confused. Was he supposed to thank her for waking him up and saving him from potential predators or was he supposed to grumble and shout at her for keeping him from his much needed sleep? Maybe he wasn't supposed to do anything. The female didn't look all that welcoming anyhow, he wasn't going to waltz up, and perhaps end his life by doing so, make his presence known and demand whatever it was he was... demanding? He was confused, angry and over-tired. This was going to be a long day.

Cresil was still on the ground at this point in time. Her eyes were closed and her wings were snuggled at her sides. Mmm, she was comfy. When she wanted to get away from it all, she would somehow hide herself along the ground. While she was growing up, those around her always found her habits as very strange. She was sure she looked silly, but she didn't care. It made her feel better, and within seconds her mind went back to feeling free and relaxed.

With a light effort, she rolled over to her right and squinted her eyes open. She was going to close them again, but something in the distance caught her gaze. What...what was that? There was something very bright towards the trees, and she was starting to get curious.

Well, her mind was back and working, and she supposed it was about time she raise herself from the ground. When she was comfortable and standing, she was able to see the figure more clearly, and she realized something WAS really over there. The other creature wasn't moving much, and she was confused. What was it doing? Was she being watched?

Most Soquili would go and introduce themselves, but Cresil didn't find that as useful. Instead, she decided to yell! "Can I help you?!" the words were loud and clear, and her expression was priceless. She was amused, if anything. How long had the figure been there? Was she going crazy?!

Andor blinked at the mare calling out to him, at least.. he assumed it was him. Was this it? Was it the end for him? Should he have taken off long ago? Or maybe she was another one of those worthless annoying Soquili that chased him around wanting to talk. Talking was pointless, nobody ever got anywhere with talking.

He stared at her, not saying anything for a long time, many questions ran through his head. Should he leave? Should he reply? What was he doing here? Then of course, there was that siren going off in his head yelling Danger! Danger! He never got used to the confusion and noise inside his head, it made him want to curl up and die every single time. So much had been going on in his head for so long that it forced anything important out and took over. He was left... alone... with horrific memories and only the feeling of loneliness, and screaming inside his head to console him.

Still unable to figure out how to deal with the situation the stallion gave a stern, "No." hoping it didn't sound as wimpy and puny as he felt. He wanted to run, but his legs were too tired and he didn't want to turn his back on the creature. Anything could attack from behind... but didn't he want her to attack...? Once again, the stallion's confusing thoughts took over his mind.

Cresil felt a low chuckle emit in her throat. Now that she was focused on the brighter figure, she could tell that it was a stallion. Plus, the way that he responded to her was a dead giveaway in that respect. So, he had spoken, and so had she. But Cresil was still feeling as confused as she was just seconds ago. And here she thought she was weird! What was up with this stallion?!

He hadn't moved from his position by the forest, and he seemed to be avoiding her. Maybe he was scared of her? Cresil wanted to laugh lightly if that was true, and show him her other siblings just to see a real fearful expression. Ah well, there was no use in just staring and trying to understand him. So, without further ado, she decided to speak again.

"Well, what the hell are you doing?" she finally yelled, while flicking her hair out of her eyes. Seriously, that was the million dollar question. She just didn't know if she was supposed to respond somehow to him. She wasn't very talented with reading others, and right now she was lost at how to handle the situation. "I can't read minds you know!" Or faces, for that matter.

Andor was still torn, turn back and get away from this freaky female that was yelling at him, stay put and avoid whatever was lurking in there or try and cross the field quickly without her catching him. One look back into the dark forest had his ears laid against his skull, he wasn't going back in there. Crossing the field... he peered at the female and silently groaned, wings, his worst nightmare. He couldn't outrun something that could chase him down faster than he could run. Seeming to forget the femme had been fumbling with her wings earlier, Andor made his decision based on false facts. He'd stay put but now it was a question of whether or not ignorance was key.

He snorted and lowered his head, golden ears flattening against his skull once again, while his hair fell in front of his eyes to conceal bits of his face. Andor wasn't going to be talking to anybody, he had no obligation to this mare, she should have just left him alone in the first place. He didn't start the conversation, even when she'd so rudely woken him from his nap. Though, he still hadn't figured out whether he should be mad or not. His lion-like tail flicked behind him as he stared at her, irritated. He needed to make a plan... if she came at him... which direction was he going to bolt?

With a big sigh the stallion looked toward the ground, why should he even bolt at all? He had no reason to live any longer, he had no point of being on this earth, he was just... a waste of air. His body ached and he was overtired, maybe it was finally time for him to go into a deep sleep and never wake up. Heaving another sigh, the stallion lowered his body to the ground and laid on the slushy surface. It was cold and unpleasant, but who ever said giving in was a warm and inviting experience. He was done, couldn't go on any longer so here he was... waiting until his final moments. He'd probably angered the stranger, maybe she'd get fed up and finally get rid of him. Not like he was putting up much of a fight...

While the stallion was fighting in his own mental battle, Cresil had moved herself so that she was now standing in front of him. She watched him and wondered if he was ill or something. "Are you feeling alright?" From the way the stallion was resting on the ground she could tell that he was highly exhausted. Maybe that's why he was dozing off and not really responding to her shouts? She hadn't considered that maybe he was severely sick. Well, that would really suck for him!

It may not have been her business, but when a random stallion collapses on the ground, there isn't much else someone can do. So, Cresil just sort of lingered by the creature and drove her eyes elsewhere and on the landscape. There was no reason to make him feel uncomfortable by staring directly at him. But, the traits he carried were indeed interesting. It looked like he had a tail similar to hers, and the chains around his neck and the broken horn on his head made her wonder many things.

"Do you need something? I don't really know where some water is, but I'm sure I can look and find some." She quirked her lip lightly while considering things she could do to help. This was probably one of the strangest moments she'd ever seen. But, life was full of these kinds of experiences. And she was trying her best to get through it and make herself useful, somehow. But hey, maybe the stallion didn't need her at all. In that case, she would leave.

Andors ears flicked to and fro as he listened to the sounds of the mare coming closer. He waited in silence, not daring to look at the stranger, not that he really had the energy to lift his head. When she spoke he was more than surprised, but more than the speaking itself, the words surprised him. She was asking how he was feeling? Pathetic. He wasn't doing anything, he was waiting for fate to finally claim him and here she was doing her little harmless acting scene. She wasn't harmless, he knew better, but what was he supposed to do, call her out on it?

He ignored her and she continued her innocent, sweet, act, did he need anything? Yeah, he did. He needed her to finish him off and leave him to rot, he wasn't going to fend her off. Andor hadn't realized he'd been holding his breath so he let it out, inhaling deeply afterward. Accepting death so readily hadn't been the way he figured he'd die but it seemed that's how it was going to end. There was nothing more he could do and he didn't want to fight any longer.

"Just kill me already, enough of your sick games," he snarled, still refusing to look at him. He'd been messed with enough in his life and he was tired of it, for once couldn't they take pity and finish quickly? What had he ever done to deserve such torment, why did he always end up in the most impossible situations. He bowed his head and sighed, why was he even thinking, it was over, it was finally done.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 24, 2009 6:39 pm

....... What?

Cresil stared down at the stallion and wondered if he was hallucinating. Her? Kill him? That was a bit extreme, wasn't it? But, if he was seriously sick then maybe he was just imagining things. Even so, the stallion's overall predicament was damn entertaining. Everything was so very dramatic and the context behind it all was completely unclear to her. She could only continue to ask him what the hell was going on, since at least in this point he was paying attention to her words.

"Why now would I kill you?" the words flung out of her mouth almost too quickly, since she was anxious to understand why a random stallion would do something so weird. Or, was this normal? "Seriously, what is going on with you? This is kinda freaky if you ask me." she then flicked her mane out and sighed lightly. This was much different then anything she'd ever seen. Had she really scared the stallion that much?!

If so, she felt a small bit of confidence accumulate in her mind. At least she was tough looking. But scary? She really had no idea until now!

The stallion finally looked up at her, his face worn and his eyes blank, he was obviously in no position to argue with her. He really didn't know what she was talking about at first, she wasn't going to kill him? Wasn't everyone out to get him? He'd almost forgotten she was just acting, trying to make him feel like everything was fine when... it wasn't. His ears flattened against his skull and he glared, she wasn't going to convince him with this fake innocent act. Did it really matter though? Whether or not she toyed with him he'd still fall to the same fate.

He wanted to get up, to face her and tell her she wasn't fooling him but he didn't have the energy. He was weak, his head was a mess and the only thing he could think about was finally giving in. Cold, unhappy, alone, well... not so alone, it seemed like a normal way to die but why was this mare waiting so long to kill him? It was a mystery and he didn't want to think about it.

"Just hurry up," he groaned and shifted his weight slightly. He was tired of sitting here, waiting for the worst but it wasn't like she cared. She probably liked to toy with her prey, make them beg for death, well... he wasn't quite begging but.. did he really need to? He'd asked for it, told her to stop joking, was begging really what it took? Well, even for him that seemed a bit awkward. At this point... he didn't know what to do about the situation.
PostPosted: Wed Feb 25, 2009 7:02 am

With how much the stallion was begging for death, Cresil wondered if she should just do it to get rid of yet another idiot in the world. But, she still didn't know anything about this stallion. So, she would be as ignorant as other creatures if she complied with his odd suicide wishes. Why would someone want to die so badly? Was his life really that bad?

Cresil then grunted lightly while moving away from the stallion and thinking about the best plan of action. He needed something different on his mind, and he needed to focus on something that wasn't death. But unfortunately, it seemed to be the key detail in the stallion's brain. "Just get up!" she finally said, while rolling her dark eyes. Jeez, what the hell was up with this guy? Cresil figured that even the kindest of her siblings could act tougher than this guy was.

She then stomped back towards him and stared him down while considering yet another plan of action. "Is this really what you do? Throw yourself at others like a piece of trash and expect them to take you out? Well, today is your lucky day, then. Because I'm not complying with any of your strange fantasies or desires." Pft, maybe the stallion was just obsessed with dying? Cresil had heard of obsessions before, so maybe she was dealing with a creature who couldn't control his? "You seriously have a problem." Well, that was obvious...
