Norion, although a distant planet, happens to house the main base for the Galactic Federation Marine Corps. Norion was originally a barren planet, but due to sophisticated Galactic Federation terraforming process, and is now a forest world.
There is a Galactic Federation base on the surface that houses three generators, three landing pads, and a large control tower that controls the orbital defense cannon. The base is mounted with a large planet defense system. Relatively advanced accommodations for the Marines stationed there can be inferred, as they are at least capable enough of protecting the remote planet, and they are among the first to test PED suits, highly experimental technology in itself. The orbital defense system was more than capable of destroying the incoming Leviathan before it impacted, which is something that the Chozo on Tallon IV and the Luminoth of Aether were unable to take success in, for whatever reason.

(-Cracks Knuckles- Alright people, get ready to fear my epic daydream post! )
...Just Another Day at the Office...Planet Norion
There were several men and women in the office area of the base, all of them doing the exact same thing...the one thing Marines hated more than having to take on boring patrol missions...their worst enemy: Paperwork. As you walked down the aisles and were to peek into the cubicles of the working people, you'd see they were in basic uniform as they typed away on computers...save for one man. He was in his actual Marine combat suit, filing paperwork, stamping it, and stapling it...
The works. Meanwhile, the air conditioner was broken again, so it was obviously very hot under all of the metal, yet he didn't take it off for some odd reason. Yep, this Was Rayl Torien, Federation Marine Rank Gunnery Sergeant, Identification Code NZG41. Wait- why was he here instead of shooting at Space Pirates...?
Well, obviously someone doesn't read the player bios. Now then, continuing on.
Soon enough though, Rayl found himself slowly dozing off into a sleep despite the conditions, as they had him working late shifts in order to ' make up' for him not being on in combat duty, so he really had sleep...what he was dreaming was quite frankly the oddest thing of all.
There he was, on some dark and dangerous planet, deep inside the crust with lava spewing everywhere, staring down face to face with a giant monster made from thousands upon thousands of layers of paper...essentially bullet-proof! yet somehow, the Marine found himself victorious, and went to open the bag which contained the woman he had come to save...instead some wierd mushroom thing popped out," That you for saving me, but your Bounty Hunter is in another castle! You'll have to go through about eight million of us to find her!" Around this point the Marine would wake up to find that most of the others had left...and also left behind their paperwork for him to do, so he simply let out a sigh, and continued to try and get it done, checking to his left to see if his coffee was ready, which it was NOT...boy he missed the old days of fighting off Space Pirate invasions. Heck, he'd do it all over again, even the part where he got Phazon Sickness! He stiffled a yawn before continuing on through the evil monster that he had to battle every freaking DAY!
