Tou sat, as usual on top of the chess table. She had finally left 'the secret place' as Jamie would've been getting worried.
Jamie wandered out past the kitchen, carrying a cookie or two.
"Here", she handed half of one to Tou.
"So, is it ok if you stay here tonight? I need to find Maddy or Phoo and ask them, but I'm sure they won't mind."
"Yeah, ok mum. Mum, will I get used to this heavy skull?"
Jamie patted her on the head and nodded, before walking off to find someone.

Calli sleeps next to the wall near the front entrance, having woken up early to wait for the mail man. Y'know, in case Tobias writes a letter.. and she's in it this time..

Watching Jamie walk away, Tou turned to see the hole-in-the-door infant. Last time, she never quite caught why she was there, so decided she must find out this time. The child leaped onto the floor, a little wobbly from her new skull. She strolled over, and sat down beside the other monkey.

Mauli sleeps up on a shelf, in her adult form, precariously balanced on the side... She had been thinking a lot about Toby's letters, and was now staking out the mail chute. Or, she had been, until the silence and lack of energy had gotten to her. Now, she was zonked out, snoring softly every so often as her back leg kicked out.

Calli yawns softly, not yet fully awake. She rubs at her eyes, looking through bleary vision at the mail slot and not yet noticing anyone around her.

Tou shuffled from side to side, not sure if she should fully wake the infant. Instead, in a very cheesy way she coughed loudly, hoping to get the monkey's attention.

Mauli lets off another loud snore, thumping the wall with her back foot and mumbling in her sleep.
"Tree... watch out... TREE!" With that, she wakes, snorting and shaking her head to clear it. Rolling onto her feet, she sways in her spot, then leans against the wall to steady herself. "Whoo... Ah!" Jumping down onto the ground, she stretches, then sits and nods to Calli and Tou. "Mornin'. Mail here yet..?"

"Shhhh, Calli, if that's her is still sleepish." She pointed to the infant known as Calli, and then thought for a bit.
"Oh, she's waiting for mail?"

Calli shakes her head at Mauli's question, pulling herself into a sitting position solemnly. She keeps her ears perked in chance of hearing the mail carrier's whistles.. She didn't feel much like talking at the moment.

Mauli nods slightly, her shoulders drooping momentarily. Then, at length, she sighs and shrugs, plastering a smile on under her mask. "I'm sure it'll come soon. I can't wait to see where he is now!" But her heart was heavy, watching the little infant wait so dedicatedly for news of her brother. After a few moments, she leans close to Tou, winking. "Lovely new skull. It'll fit well when you grow."

Tou nodded to Calli. She had been hearing about Toby, and how Calli had been showing his friends the letters. She turned to Mauli and giggled quietly. "Thanks, feels a bit heavy though. Guess I'll get used to it sometime ..."

All the while, Calli's concentration is locked on the mail slot.. Thoughts whirling, she tries only to think about hearing from her brother, and not anything about when he'll come home, or if he'll bring her something.

Mauli nods slightly, then turns, her attention focused on the mail slot. Her heart was heavy, for several reasons... She had so much to think about. What if Toby didn't write? What if he didn't mention Calli this time? What if he wasn't coming back? What if, what if, what if...? Her eyes wandered over to Calli, her smile saddening underneath the mask. Poor kid... Toby didn't realize how much she cared for him.

Calli's tail flickers across the floor. Usually the mail carrier didn't take this long.. Maybe it was a package that was delaying him! Or.. there was no mail at all today..
