Hard to believe the hot teacher is also the Headmaster's daughter... Wonder if they do it...

*Cracks his neck to the side, frowning before raising his hand*

London, look I know that the girls are going to hate me for this, but this movie is so inaccurate I could cry.

I get the whole Twilight appeal, sure, but realistically? The vampire stuff I can swallow because they have a lot of different ways to turn out, but there is no way a werewolf could take changing back and forth like that. Especially not when it happens if they're emotionally compromised.

On top of that, how in the hell is he scar free, perfectly ready to go out and not ready to drop dead from exhaustion? That's not even including the fact the douche has the gall to not have doggy breath and nice hair.

I don't think I have enough paper to write down Muggle-movie-lore versus fact.

*He was feeling a lot better since the silver incident with Vambre and his group of Slytherin's. He definitely a bit off because the full moon had just ended a few days ago, but it was nothing a nap after class and a possible snack couldn't fix.*

Josh was watching the movie. Well, almost. His eyes were pointed at it at least. He had gone into a sort of sleep, not really hearing or seeing anything but yellow eyes still open. He snapped to attention at Clay's words, grinning a bit. At least he wasn't the only one thinking it.

Josh didn't watch movies very often. Usually when he hung out with his friends they jammed or went to the mall, s**t like that. Not really big on television. He recognized it was a huge part of Muggle culture or whatever you would call it, but he didn't see why he had to watch some crappy movie to understand that.

He ran a hand through his hair, debating whether to speak up or not, looking like he had just woken up from a nap. sweatdrop

London’s subsequent smile was amused as she moved across the room, the height of her heeled, thigh-high black boots further allowing her to tower over her students, the two dozen or so of them scattered among mismatched desks and a few battered couches. The classroom spread up the height of the tower, lined with books and muggle technology that students wandered in to use even when class wasn’t in session. Especially the PS3.

“There’s that word, though. ‘Realistically.’ Realistic. Real. Implying that muggles should pull back the imagination and face reality - but their reality is different from ours, isn’t it?” the sleek Head of House perched herself on the edge of one of the many tables in the room, dropping a hand to idly pet Josh’s ******** up hawk. “Their reality says werewolves are so unreal that, ******** it, they should also be hot Native Americans with diamond-cutting abs and a smile that could melt the panties off of any preteen. Their reality says werewolves are so impossible that, screw that, they should be able to change at will without physical or mental consequences.”

No. This particular version does because emotional anguish should only be about being a freak, being in love and not knowing who to want to ******** and shakes his head with an irritated sigh*

I guess it's just a preference thing as to what you want of it...

*Scratches the back of his neck, picking at one of the newer scars there*

What's the point of this, then? That their society embraces freaks as long as their "burdens" are easy and girls can get wet for them? I just... Bein' bitchy, I think... *He trailed off, giving a shrug*

Josh had watched London cross the room with his still sleepy-eyes, trying to perk up a bit when she looked at him and figure out what the ******** the conversation was about so he could maybe say something intelligent. It wasn't like he watched Twilight but it was hard not to hear about it, the insane number of fans it had. He basically just tried to ignore it whenever possible, but he supposed he still managed to know more than he ever would have cared to.

He leaned into London's petting like a cat, certainly more awake now. He tilted his head back slightly to look up at her, clearly amused.

"That's the whole point of movies, though, whole point of television. Escaping reality, doing whatever you want. I mean, this is one of the more popular movies. Just think of what the less popular ones are about. I've seen a movie about killer sheeps, I s**t you not. And what is the point? There isn't a point. It's all for entertainment, procrastination, utterly and completely wasting time."

“Some people might argue with that, Vulnero,” Mason said conversationally from where he was sprawled on a couch, watching the class from around his laptop. “Movies are also a form of education - social, historical, what have you - and sometimes of manipulation. For example, some critics have rumored that Meyer’s literary work was intended to thread a sense of male-dominated subservience into young girls’ heads.”

He fingers briefly skittered across the keyboard. “I think London might be trying to draw a line of comparison between muggle fantasy movies and wizarding ones. We know werewolves exist and how their hair may or may not stay in place, so our movies are considerably less… fantastical, at least to our perceptions. We don’t have as much room to make s**t up.”

“I’m not doing anything but letting you guys talk about it,” London said lightly, shifting her fingers so she was gently scratching at Josh’s scalp. “Though I’d like to see the killer sheep movie.”

"That's not all they can be either. That's like generalizing any kind of artwork and saying it's just there to look at. If the movie is entertainment then music is just noise to fill up space." he looked between the two of them, dark green eyes holding a tint of amber around the edges.

"What about it being someone's passion? Some of them are someone's story they're trying to share because they want someone to take it to heart, to get something out of it or to feel it..." he turned a bit in his battered desk, looking to Josh.

"I'm not trying to be a d**k, but if you think about it like, everything like that, then it's all just sound and noise that we're trying to use to get by and fill up the void with. ...Which is kind of useless, which would make life useless, wouldn't it? To some degree, at least?"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 04, 2011 8:36 pm

Josh frowned a bit. "Yeah, I was definitely generalizing a bit grossly there..." He sighed, letting the thoughts bounce around in his head for a second. He opened and closed his mouth, not really sure what to say to salvage himself.

He didn't think all television or movies or whatever were a waste of time. He could enjoy a good scary movie, chick flick, or ridiculous action movie with a bit too many explosions just as much as anyone.

"I guess I was... thinking more on this movie... or, well. It wouldn't be popular if a lot of people didn't like it, and I'm sure they have their reasons for liking it and enjoy it very much. And I guess if you enjoy something and it makes you happy than it's not a waste of time to you. Same with music, whatever, anything. Not everyone likes the same stuff, that's why there's so much different... stuff. If people didn't enjoy it it wouldn't be out there so yeah... nothing is a waste of time to everyone."

He mumbled a bit to himself, resting his head down on his arms on the table in front of him.

Godfrey yawned-rather loudly- having been napping for most of the movie. He didn't bother pretending he hadn't been catnapping either."Not 'nough Carlisle inna movie. Like 'im best."

He yawned again, reaching up to rapidly scritch his ear, turning his head somewhat like a dog would. He didn't feel much like debating about what the movie and entertainment was, or if this was entertainment or not, blah blah blah.

"Watch th' stuff if ya wan' don' if ya don'. Like it, don' whatever. Don'see what 't matters sides 'nother dumb thing for people to fight over."

He'd only been half-listening to Josh and Clay and the Professor too. But his sister was dumb and liked this thing and made him watch it like a BILLION times before she would study Herbology with him.

"All I know's Carlisle's sexy and looks great in a uniform." He grinned slightly as he peeked up at London. " And I think our werewolves are sexier."

He flicked his ears slightly in Clays direction, stiffling another tired yawn. Transfig, yuck.

"I think I'm just on my period... Sorry for putting you on the spot...." he gave an apologetic smile to Josh, but sat back in his desk, something in his face switching and making him look far older with stress, He rubbed at his cheek, scratching as he tried to settle his nerves back down.

"So are the fox eared boys, but they always seem to be taken." he smirked, seemingly to push it all back down. Clay was pretty good about sweeping up his emotional messes before they became too much of a nuisance or his temper flew up over past it, ready for blood.

“Welcome back to the land of the awake and slightly more alert, Frey,” London said warmly, having always made it clear that anyone tired enough to fall asleep in class was welcome to; occasionally students sought the stuffier couches in her classroom and went to sleep for the entirety of the class. “Good points, you and Josh and Clay as well. Cookies for each of you.” She slid her fingers free of Josh’s fussed hair, having continued to pet his scalp after he’d settled down on his arms. A flick of her wand produced a delicate yellow china plate before each of them, several kinds of cookies piled neatly together. “Take your pick. Mason doesn’t get any because he’s looking at Kingdom Hearts yaoi and ships Riku/Sora. And Sora belongs to Cloud.” She cracked a grin.

Godfrey perked up at cookies, reaching to take one that had purple m&ms.

" Thank you." He said, taking a small bite and debating if he could sneak another cookie for Mason. He probably didn't want one anyways. "And Joshy has a thick head, dont'cha Josh? Keeps a lot of good thoughts in there. So, didn't mean to stop a good debate, I'm sorry."

Godfrey put the cookie in his mouth and stretched, making a small squeak. This class was more like therapy than learning, he always thought. He smiled at Clay, but couldn't stick his tongue out because of the cookie.

"Hey, but, then who's Sepir- Sefear- Sethear- Sethiross supposed to get with?" He asked, cookie in hand, not quite recalling the name of the tall quasi evil guy.

"That's what threesomes are for, hellooo~" Drake came in with her messenger bag slung over her right shoulder, the thing probably weighing more than she did before she let it slide off and thump to the floor.

"And it's Sephiroth, I think... I just remember the sexy anime videos I saw online of him. Killer hair." she explained and sat down behind Frey to start going through her bag.
