THE GRASS FIELD The breeze from the stadium air conditioners rustled the flat grassland arena, sending small clouds of harmless pollen into the air. The land is completely flat, making manuverability easy to those build to walk on land. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GRASS type attacks

(ROLLING... for attack order, HURRAY 8D )
As the Pokemon Idol stood there, she seemed to notice that was was getting this battle field a lot. Maybe it was a sign she should catch a grass type Pokemon? She reached into her apron pocket and pulled out a Pokeball.
"Please don't try and fly away, please don't try and fly away" she repeated to herself in a quiet chant as she tossed the Pokeball forward.
With a flash of light, a big bird-like Pokemon was released, flapping its wings and looking around. At the moment, nothing was there to startle it silly, but as the pink eyes darted around nervously, it was obvious that the Altaria would probably bolt when the first opportunity showed itself.
It was probably fortunate that there were no trees in the area for him to fly to and hide.

Lizzie stepped calmly onto the podium as the other trainer sent out her pokemon. An Altaria. It'll be a very interesting match, that's for certain.
"Come on out Portal!" And unlike her, she didn't have to wish that her Umbreon would stay put. She knew the drill already. What she had to hope for is that she'd do things like planned this time.
Portal stretched and yawned as soon as she got out of her Pokeball, enjoying the breeze that rustled through. She glanced at Myst only briefly before examining the rest of her surroundings. The big fluffy bird Pokemon didn't interest her much.

Out of the corner of his eye, something appeared, which caused some sort of movement. OH NO, IT WAS GOING TO EAT HIM!!! Not wanting to stick around necessarily for such an opportunity, Myst flew up even higher in the air.
"Oh no!" LizDuck squeaked out. Maybe if she called out an attack that he could do from the air, it distract him from fleeing.
"Ummm... Search for the weak points and start off with a Sky Attack!"
The Altaria looked first at the Umbreon, then back at his trainer, then back at the Umbreon. She expected him to attack that Pokemon?!! He seemed to have a different mind set, and started to look for a possible weak spot on the Umbreon. If he hit the Pokemon, it would be a big enough distraction for him to find someplace to hide. Figuring that would work, he then swooped down, aiming straight for the dark Pokemon.

First the Altaria flew away from her. Then he dove towards her in a Sky Attack. Portal was a bit too surprised to notice that she was going to get divebombed, and barely rolled away in time. The sharp beak slashed near her belly, a bit too close for comfort.
Lizzie was a bit surprised too. Wasn't a Pokemon using Sky attack suppose to glow first? No matter. She hesitated for a second before calling out her first move.
"Confuse Ray!"
Portal turned to face Myst again after straightening herself up. Her glowing rings seemed to shine brighter as she hurled a dazzling ball of light at him, intending to confuse rather than hurt.

For a moment, the Altaria wasn't paying attention to what was going on around him and seemed to search for something. The large bird left out a disappointed "...altaria..." He turned back to the opponent to find a glowing ball of light flying towards him.
"Altaria!" he screeched as he flapped his wings sharply to just narrowly avoid being hit by the light.
LizDuck gulped slightly. It almost seemed like the Pokemon was panicking, and that would make this battle even more difficult to handle.
"Ummm... maybe try hitting it with Rock Smash...?" She definitely wasn't the most confident, and almost seemed like she was trying to coax the Pokemon to doing as she asked.
Wait, was that pesky trainer still trying to get him to attack?! This wasn't what he signed up for, though it wasn't like he got a choice in being captured. However, the Altaria was somewhat upset that this other Pokemon had attacked him (despite the fact Myst was guilty of starting it all).
The dragon decided to fly in close, and with his beak, he aimed a peck with his beak that was strong enough to break rocks.

For a moment, it looked like he was going to try another Sky attack. Portal got ready to roll out of the way again, but she was too slow again. This time, the beak jabbed her hard in the shoulder, and she was startled by how much it hurt! Cheater!
Lizzie sighed when the first Confuse ray didn't work, and when her Umbreon got struck by that super-effective move. Now more then ever she had to get that Altaria confused.
"Confuse ray again!"
Hopefully, this won't go on like the last battle, where she had to try like three times or so to succeed. And it didn't even do much anyways. After licking her wound a bit, Portal turned to Myst and fire another multicolored ball of light.

This time, it seemed as if Myst as not as fortunate as before. When he turned to face the Umbreon again, a big flash of light blinded him for a moment. He shook his head slightly, feeling obnoxiously dizzy. He began to wobble slightly in the air.
"Oh no! He looks like he's confused" the idol squeaked out. She knew how hazardous such could be for her own Pokemon's health. However, she didn't think she could afford to baby such while the other Pokemon got a chance to attack.
"Well, try another Rock Smash, Myst!"
The Pokemon wobbled in the air, still struggling to stay airborne under this condition. He looked this way and that, and eventually, his eye came across his own tail. That looked like a tasty Caterpie. With that confused perception in his head, he instead attacked his own tail.

"Good job Portal!" Lizzie shouted out, encouraged that not only the confusion succeeded at last, the Altaria hurt himself too. It wasn't the nicest thing to be happy about, but she really wanted to win this battle.
"Faint attack now!"
Portal braced herself for a Rock smash, and breathed with relief when it didn't come. She heard her trainer's command next, and disappear in a flash of orange. When she reappeared, she had leaped up into the air behind Myst and proceeded to latch onto her so she wouldn't had to do that again. Jumping that high while she was cloaked was difficult!

Well, that seemed a bit awkward. He went for a caterpie, and it instead was his tail. The Altaria then got hit from behind by another attack. The only thing Myst could do was shake his head back and forth to try to shake the sense back into his head again.
"Ooooo... Sorry Myst" the idol winced slightly. However, she called out yet another command "...maybe this time, a Rock Smash will work?"
However, luck was not on the Altaria's side. He was just noticing how those silly tail feathers looked like that yummy Caterpie again. One time, shame on the status, two times, shame on the Altaria.
