Mith finished wrapping the scarf around Gabby's neck and stepped back, arms crossed across her chest. "Okay," she declared as she glanced at Gabby's dragon who was sitting there with a discontent look on his face at the cloth wrapped around his neck. "You're ready to go." It was a little difficult, adjusting to taking over care of this child when Asryane had gone away but she was. "Just remember not to go out of sight of the window."
"Yes auntie Mith," Gabby responded cheerfully as she opened the door and bounded out, Sil at her side. Mommy had helped her name him before she had to go away, it meant silver and Mith said that it was a good name so it must have been. The snow was falling in fat, fluffy flakes around them and Gabby laughed, twirling with her hands outspread and head tilted back, catching the flakes on her tongue. They were shockingly cold but delicious.
Sil was rolling around on the snow just off the path, his silver scales dulling underneath of all the white. "You're going to look like a white dragon!" Gabby declared as she bent down to scoop up a handful of snow, lobbing it lightly at her dragon before turning and bounding off towards a tree, almost forgetting that she was not unobserved. It was nice to be outside without an adult, even if Mith was watching to make sure nothing happened.

A walking pink puffball waddled its way out across the snow. Reign... was a little protective since the whole incident with Cassi getting sick and nearly dying. The poor kid was in a shirt, sweater, and a poofy coat, plus was wearing a pink beanie hat, gloves, scarf, and snowboots over his pink sweatpants.
Cassi was a puffball with a tail. Even his tail had been subjected to an improvised legwarmer (which was, of course, pink). But the boy HAD been let out to go play in the snow. The boy grinned and looked around. What to do? It looked so pretty... He was about to go start making a snowman when he spotted someone running around.
ACK! There was a dragon running after her! "W-w-w-watch out!" He shouted, hoping to warn the girl about the evil beast that was trying to catch her and eat her!

Gabby was about to launch herself up to catch the lowest branch of the tree when she heard a voice behind her call out what sounded like a warning. She skidded to a stop and turned, too fast for Sil who collided and the two went tumbling to the ground in a flash of color. "Get off, Sil," Gabby laughed as she untangled herself from the silver dragon and stood, dusting the snow off of herself and her wings before remembering that there had been someone there.
"Oh, you're pink!" she declared when she spotted the source of the voice, what appeared to be a pink puffball with a tail. That was one of her very favorite colors! "Look, Sil, it's a pink ball!" The dragon gave her a look and muttered something in his language as he shook himself off.
Gabby shrugged and walked towards the puffball, bending down so that she was on a level with it. "Hullo," she chirped. "I'm Gabby. And thanks for the warning, but that's just my dragon, Sil, he wouldn't hurt a fly."

Cassi's eyes went wide when the silver dragon ran into the girl. He started to panic, looking around for his mother or someone to help. But... the girl was laughing? He glanced back to see her standing up and commenting about his outfit.
The kid took a small step backwards as the girl came closer. "H-h-hi." He muttered. "I'm C-Cassi." The boy glanced at the dragon for a moment. "You s-sure?" His aunt had a dragon and everyone said he was nice... but they were so big... and scary....

"Nice to meet you, Cassi," Gabby said brightly, wings folding against her back to help her stay warmer. She waved her hand back at Sil as the dragon came closer. "Yep, he's harmless, I even call him "Silly" sometimes 'cause that's what he can be."
Sil gave her a level look and did the dragon equivalent of a sniff before inclining his head to the small child before Gabby tossed an arm around his neck, leaning on him like she liked to do. "No one else is supposed to call me Silly."
"You're not old enough to have a dragon yet I guess... but have you met your egg? I remember when I met Sil's egg!" She had been so excited. Of course, she was excited for everything.

Cassi almost freaked out as Sil's head came closer. THE THING WAS GOING TO EAT HIM! But, the girl put an arm around the dragon, stopping it. The boy blinked and shook his head. "N-no egg..." Wait... he wasn't old enough? "I-I-I have to g-get one?!" The boy started to shake. He didn't want a dragon! "NO! NO DRAGON!" Freaked out, the kid started to back up from Gabby. Unfortunately, his clothing hampered his movement and he tripped, landing square on his butt.

"Yep, we all get one, we're here for them or something fun like that." She gave a tug at the cloth around Sil's neck, wondering when he was going to outgrow it. Then she realized that Cassi was having what she guessed was a bit of a panic attack, stumbling back and saying that he didn't want a dragon before he fell backwards into the snow.
Gabby moved away from her dragon and peered down at Cassi. "You're really nervous," she declared before extending her hand to try and help him back up. She was just naturally helpful like that, and this kid seemed like maybe he needed that. Or more energy. "The dragons aren't that bad, Sil's really fun and nice to use as a pillow."
"I'm not a pillow." Gabby ignored that. "He's a good pillow, I'm sure yours will be too." Her smile was bright and cheerful like everything else about her.

Cassi sat on the ground, staring at the silver dragon. "But... I don't want one.... scary." He wished Kate was there. He missed her. He wanted to see her again, but he hadn't seen her in so long... Thinking of his friend made the boy feel sad.
"Have pillows... don't want dragon. Want Kate."

The boy almost looked like a pink mushroom sitting like that and Gabby giggled. She'd have to tell auntie Mith about that. "It'll be good for you," she assured the child. All of the people she knew liked their dragons. And she didn't know what she'd do without Sil now. "But whose Kate? Is that your mom?" She blinked over at Sil before bouncing up on her toes. "We could take you home to her."
"If you tell Mith first."

He didn't care if it was good for him... he didn't want one! He shook his head at the girl's questions. "No... Kate not Mommy. Kate... Kate. She lives next door.... but Kate no come over to play... Miss Kate... Mommy says Kate's busy." He frowned. Kate was very busy lately, it seemed... He sniffled. He wanted Kate.

"Ohhh, a friend, that makes sense." A friend like Sahra! Only Gabby thought she was more like a sister even if she was part cat and cats normally liked to eat birds... no, Sahra would never eat her. But if she tried then she could always fly away. That was why birds had wings!
"I'm sorry she's not around very much," Gabby made her voice sympathetic and tried to decide whether or not she should try patting the boy on the shoulder, he did seem very skittish. "But if you want a new friend then there's always me." She blinked at her dragon. "And Sil, but I think he scares you so he can stay away."

Cassi sighed. He did kind of have another friend... that boy he'd seen when he and his mommy had been moving in. But he hadn't seen Kliken in a while... And this girl was here now, unlike Kliken or Kate. "Friend?" This girl did seem nice... and she was saying that the dragon would stay away. "Okay!" He seemed to cheer up a bit. He had another friend. Wait until his mommy heard about this!

"Yay, a new friend!" Gabby declared, clapping her hands together. Mith would be so proud of her for befriending this little pink boy. "D'you want to get up out of the snow? If you're cold then my house is right there and you could have some hot chocolate or something."
"Silly, chatty little bird." Gabby reached over to give Sil another push. "You're the silly."

Cassi wasn't really all that cold... all those layers of clothes seemed to be working. He shook his head. Hot chocolate sounded nice... but there could be scary people inside! He glanced over at Sil for a moment before scooting just a touch away.

Gabby shrugged. "Alright then." She turned to Sil. "Silly, why don't you go play over there? You scare Cassi."
The dragon lashed his tail. "Alright, but I'm not going far." He didn't like being away from his child. But Gabby was glad that he would separate a little so as not to scare her new friend. She turned to Cassi, grinning again. "Wanna make a snowman with me?" She had so much energy that she needed to do something, she wasn't so good at standing still.
