►What is written without effort is in general read without pleasure. —Samuel Johnson
►Keep your posts PG-13. We don't want our guild getting in any trouble for breaching Gaia's TOS rule. Since this is a PG-13 website, we want to keep everything here PG-13 as well so we don't get shut down. It's a good idea to review the General Rules of the entire guild before posting too. ►Label your RP. It makes looking for the right RP a heck of a lot easier. In your first post, as a courtesy to your fellow RPists, you should indicate if your RP is closed or not. You should also include things like setting, plot, and if it is for example, a yaoi RP. If it is a dating RP, please remember the first rule. At this time, roleplays are not required to have a poll. ►Don't steal art OR bandwidth. See the following post for information on how to host your own pictures on Gaia, and for information on Direct linking. ►Please be original. Nobody likes to go into a Roleplaying community and find 55,001 roleplays covering specifically only High Schools. Please branch out a little bit. It's not to say that High School Roleplaying is not allowed, it's only that here in the My Japan guild, we strive for something better: a fun, engaging community for everyone. Don't be afraid to expand your horizons and shoot for a radical new idea. More than likely, you'll be praised for your creativity. ►Rules are subject to change without warning. Though moderators will try to keep you informed on changes in the guild, it's possible we may not reach everybody. It's smart to check the rules periodically, just to ensure that everyone has a pleasant experience thru roleplay.
There are only five basic rules to follow here. If you have any trouble or questions, please don't hesitate to contact a Guild Moderator.

d i r e c t l i n k i n g : ←——?——→ Your comprehensive guide __________✗What's bandwith? Think of a website like a shelf. Bandwith is the amount of space on the shelf. The more bandwith you steal, the less space the person has to work with. It also slows down the other person's website because of all of the off-site ''traffic.'' Going with the previous metaphor, it's like people are staring at your stuff on their shelf and not their stuff. __________✗What is Direct Linking? It's when you right click on an image, and then find the URL for that image by hitting "properties," or, when you isolate that image on a single page and then take the URL in your address bar. Next, you take that URL and you put it between [IMaGe] brackets so that you can post the image in a forum without having to download it to your computer.__________✗Why shouldn't I? When you Direct Link something, you steal bandwidth. You wouldn't like it if someone did it to you, would you?__________✗What do you suggest? The best way to not steal bandwidth is to save the image to your computer, and to then upload it using your own methods. Of course, this destroys the link back to the website, so if that image is copyrighted at all, and if you claim its yours by not saying where you got it, it's considered plagiarism. As roleplayers, we kind of understand that it's not your graphic, but other people don't. If you have an opportunity to do so, say where you got the image. This is an especially good idea if you got it from somewhere on Deviantart.com or another similar community.__________✗Where do I do that? There are several websites that you can upload your photos on. You can try the following: Photobucket.com, Tinypic.com, Imageshack.com, and Photodump.com. There are others out there...Some of the above require a free membership, and others do not.
