THE CANYON FIELD!
The Canyon walls toward high towards the ceiling while the ground sinks downwards several levels, making the top and bottom of the field very difficult to see without special equipment. The cliff faces themselves are very steep with little ridge support for grabbing and climbing; on top of that, the rock faces themselves are very damp (moss is also present due to the continuous moisture) which makes grabbing and holding on very difficult. A few skinny trees and roots jut out from the cliff, announcing an option for land-based pokemon such as to grab and swing; however, these cannot bare that much weight and WILL break if such a thing happens. At the very bottom of the canyon’s long drop is a deep pool of water. Visually is difficult for trainers on this particular battlefield, so stadium officials have set up a special view screen on each of the trainer platforms. A mini camera will follow your pokemon around while it battles (of course, it’s programmed to back off when a pokemon does an attack) and the view screen will enable trainers to issue commands to their companions via microphone. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FLYING type attacks.

Renekai sprinted into the stadium. She was two minutes late! Argh! She bounded into the trainer's box and slipped on a rug someone had put there. The rug slipped from under her foot and sent her flying. A pokeball fell as well and burst open at the same time that Renekai cracked her head against the cement wall of the trainer's box.
"Haaaa ha ha ha!" cackled Dreydonna. She zoomed into her place on the field. She looked down into the deep canyon and grinned. My, how high up they were! She couldn't wait to push her opponent down into that fissure.
Renekai got up, holding her head groggily. "Which genius put a rug there, of all places...? Sorry I'm late..."

Meeka waved to her partner as she threw Poji's Pokeball. "Doesn't matter!" the breeder called as she smiled happily. "It wasn't much of a wait anyway!"
Poji came out of her Pokeball happily, cheering as she sprinted about the ground. She paused as she caught sight of the Haunter; feeling her body's temperature lower and herself begin to tremble. She quickly dashed back to her trainer; petrified.
Meeka smiled as she patted Poji's head and sent her back out into the field via a push. "C'mon Miss Poji!" she giggled as she yipped her arms up into the air. "You can do this!"

"Okaaaay!" Renekai called. She rubbed her head and blinked at her hand. There wasn't any blood, though she had expected some... Anyway... "Shadow Punch!"
Dreydonna turned invisible and zoomed across the field. She suddenly turned visible and aimed a ghostly punch at the back of Poji's head. She cackled as she did so, glad to have finally found a pokemon that truly feared her.

Poji was forcefully sent towards the ground from the punch making contact with the back of her head. She picked herself up, wiping the dirt from her face. She scowled as it occurred. Damn, that hurt!
Meeka waved at Poji to catch her attention before yelling, "Miss Poji, use Thunderbolt!"
Poji nodded her head before somersaulting into the air, her starred cheeks cackling wildly with electricity. Finally, a long stream of electricity burst from her body and all about the field, shattering the ground slightly. Poji was sure of the whereabouts of the Haunter. So damaging everything seemed to be the best choice.

Seeing that there was no way to dodge everything, Dreydonna allowed herself to become invisible once more. The lightning went right through her, since she allowed her particles to drift apart. She pulled herself together again when the electric attack subsided.
"Good job, 'Donna!" Renekai called. "Lick!"
Dreydonna swooped forward once more, this time with her long tongue hanging out.

Poji blinked before having a large tongue lick her straight across her face. It felt disgusting! More disgusting than being pooted directly in the face by the fat deer her trainer traveled with. Blinking, Poji collapsed onto the floor for a bit, breathing heavily. That probably was...the worst moment Poji ever had experienced in a battle before.
Meeka yipped up as she pointed to Poji. "No slacking on the battle!" Meeka called. "C'mon Miss Poji, another Thunderbolt!"
Poji picked herself up off the floor and jumped into the air again, her cheeks cackling before sending out another attack.

This time, Dreydonna couldn't spread herself out fast enough and was jolted a bit by the electricity. "Haunter..." she grumbled. Then her familiar evil grin came back. Time to get revenge!
Renekai didn't like the look on her Haunter's face. Somehow, it was a little more evil than usual. "... Shadow Punch?" she said uncertainly.
One of Dreydonna's floating hands disappeared for a moment. While she was making funny faces at Poji, her hand reappeared behind the pkachu and made a fist shape. It then swung forward as hard as it could, aiming to punch Poji right into the canyon.

Poji was ricocheted a good distance from the Shadow Punch as she went flying off the canyon. Flailing, Poji clawed at the edges to try and climb back up.
"Poji, use Charge Beam to bullet yourself back up! Than use Charge Beam on the Haunter!" Meeka called towards her scared partner.
Poji blasted herself up by slamming a Charge Beam at the canyon's side. Small particles of rock were sent flying with her as she finally made it back to land. Growling, Poji sent a Charge Beam towards Dreydonna.

The hand snapped its fingers in a classic sign of disappointment. It then very quickly returned to its owner at Dreydonna was hit by the Charge Beam. "Ter!" she said, rolling upside down.
"Lick her again!" Renekai commanded.
Dreydonna floated over, still upside down, and lowered her tongue. Unlike popular belief, a ghost's tongue really wasn't all that slobbery. Not really slobbery, but still some...

Poji was lucky enough to roll out of the way when the tongue came her way. Wiping her forehead, she was glad. She couldn't handle another one of those!
Meeka yawned as she rubbed her not-Pokeball eye. "Use Thunder Miss Poji!" called Meeka from the trainer podium.
From where she stood, Poji flashed out a Thunder. She was forced back a little as she did so, her foot nearly slipping off the edge of the canyon. She really wished she had wings.

"Dodge it, Dreydonna!" Renekai shouted.
Dreydonna did a bit of hopscotch in midair, dodging the lightning. It wasn't easy to outrun something that moved at the speed of light; it was mostly guesswork.
Dreydonna noticed that Poji was about to fall. She took her chance and zoomed forward, cackling and howling like a demon. Her fist swung forward in another Shadow Punch. Down with the mouse!
Renekai stared. Had Dreydonna always been that evil?
