[This RP contains Airlia, Cobalt, Minuet and Nimue] <********."
It seemed to be the only word out of the mare's mouth as of late as she marched through the woods on what seemed to be a warpath. Pissy, nauseous and most importantly packing on the pounds....Airlia knew exactly what was going on. Of course, it was the season as the birds chirped merrily and the beaming, glowing faces of happy new parents were everywhere. Airlia glowed too, but it seemed more of a toxic, nuclear sort of glow.
She was pregnant.
It was still pretty early in her pregnancy, yet the swelling of her once thin abdomen was obvious to any who knew her. Spade tail swaying viciously through the air behind her there was only one to blame (and she meant that in the kindest way possible) for what had happened. Cobalt, the stallion who stole her heart, and now; something else from her. She had to find him, and find him now.
Thus, storming out in daylight was a new adventure for her, watching as soquili clearly ran to avoid her presence...news like this just couldn't wait till nightfall. Not when she'd been up the night before reliving the meals she had that day. She was angry, chalked full of twice the hormones she usually had to deal with...and scared.
Oh was she ever scared.
Pausing by a pond that they usually frequented, she waited; tail impatiently swaying side to side as she watched for his figure. Once again, the only word she could find was a foul one. <********>

Cobalt, blissfully oblivious to the enraged state of his lover, was spending the morning stretched out by his favorite pond, snoozing in the warm morning sun.
Truth be told, he had never been happier. The past few weeks with Airlia had been like something out of a dream, and he wondered if this was what true bliss felt like. He had found his angel, the one who invoked pure love within him, and it no longer mattered that they were both rejected by others, or that some would call them freaks. None of it mattered at all.
Hearing hoofbeats, the stallion opened his eyes, lifting his head to see who was approaching. It was Airlia, and his heart soared for a moment, until he saw the expression on her ivory face.
He had never seen her in such a mood. She looked ready to start a rampage, and he had no clue what was upsetting her. Immediately, he got up and went to her side. If she was unhappy, he wanted to know why so he could fix whatever was wrong.
"Airlia, what is it? What's the matter? I've never seen you like this..."
His voice was worried, carrying an inflection of deep concern. A thousand possibilities flew through his mind, each one more worrisome than the last.

Luckily for Cobalt that he was indeed around, as with patience as thin and wound up as hers at the moment if she had to wait she would have snapped. Perhaps if she was indeed normal she would have been happy with her pregnancy, finding the perfect stallion to raise foals with and be with till the end of her days. Who could ask for more really? Well, she could. Maybe not to have the blood of the Angel of Dispair in her veins, maybe to have acceptance and not have to worry about the world being against her.
Against her children.
What kind of life would they live, feared by most and the remainder wanting to eat them. Could she really bring that kind of life into the world knowing said concequences?
"Cobalt..." Airlia all but hissed, indeed she wasn't mad directly at him....just really, really frustrated. She hated thinking this much. Did he really not notice her current weight gain, or was he really just being polite and not saying a word.
"I've been god damned sick all morning, I can't keep a thing down. I feel weak, exausted, sweaty....I had to come out in the daylight to have all these freaks staring at me, running away as I pass. Do you know why, Cobalt? DO YOU HAVE ANY DAMN REASON WHY!?" Snapping slightly as her tail arched dangerously, Airlia quickly tried to compose herself as she backed away....it was all the emotion's fault. Thats it....too many hormones now that she was in this state.
Looking back at his worried face, the mare couldn't help but sigh. As always, he was worried about her...typical, loving Cobalt. He really hadn't a clue, did he? Well, she best show him.
Turning to the side so he could plainly see her swollen abdomen, after a few moments she curled her wings around her tummy to hide it away from the world.
"Not to mention im fat now......Damnit Cobalt.....Im pregnant!!" Closing her eyes she shook her head and gritted her teeth, before peeking an eye open to see his reaction to all of this.

As he listened to her vent, his concern rose. If she was ill, then she needed care...he couldn't bear it if something happened to her.
He hadn't noticed her weight gain, but when she turned to the side, he saw the slight bulge. A hint of fear flickered in his eyes. She couldn't be...could she?
"Pregnant?"
His voice a half-whisper, shock ran through his features. His face paled. "Are you sure?"
But of course she was sure. She wouldn't have told him if she wasn't. And the evidence was all there, hidden beneath her ebony wings. He was...a father. His eyes widened with shock. What sort of father could he be? He was a gentleman, yes, but he was not without his demons...how could he ever be a good father? For that matter, what if his children inherited his demons? What if they, too, were plagued by unpredictable bloodlust, prone to random outbursts? Or worse, what if they liked being a killer? What if they took to the darker aspects of viciousness Cobalt knew lurked inside himself and loved the blackness that Cobalt spent his life trying to blot out?
Cobalt turned to Airlia, fear in his eyes. He knew that she was probably even more scared than he was. Pulling her close, wrapping his wings carefully around her, he took comfort in the feel of her heartbeat against his. "I love you, Airlia...we'll get through this, okay?"
"But...what on earth are we going to do now?"

"Yes Pregnant....unless I have a tumor that gives me morning sickness!" She hissed, knowing it was uncalled for to be a smart a** at this time but god she couldn't help it. The look of shock and fear which streaked across his face doused her confidence, rooting up the already poisonous doubts which corrupted her soul. They couldn't have kids...she would ruin their lives like her mother ruined hers...
Turning away quickly she closed her eyes and breathed out, curling her wings even tighter around their precious cargo. What if they turned out like her? Like her family had? All insane in their own right, all some kind of killer. What if the curse passed down further and her kids would be plauged to kill? What if they hated her...?
"Well unless I miscarry, we're stuck with these foals. Unless we wanna give them up, but they'll be more screwed up being abnormal with normal parents.." Would anyone adopt kids like theirs anyways? No one, thats who; and Airlia wouldn't have any of that.
"Cobalt.....are we even ready for this? I mean, what if they turn out like me, like my family. The blood of Dispair runs through my veins, dispair will always be a shadow in my life...what if its in theirs too?" Biting her lip, she jumped slightly when he drew near and wrapped his wings around her. Damnit, he knew exactly how to ******** up her life, but make it feel so damn good while he was doing it.
"I can't be a mother....look at me!" She didn't want to ******** up another life like her mother had to hers. Her family should have been banned from breeding, but here her mother, father and brother had bred again. would her own be any worse than their new families?
"What are we going to do..." The mare sniffled lightly, tears brimming her eyes. God she hated to cry, and it seemed that was all she was doing as of late.

Cobalt pulled away so he could look into her eyes. "Is anyone ready for parenthood? I won't lie...I'm afraid of what our children will be like. What if they get Kalona bloodlust stronger than mine? What if they can't control it?" He shuddered slightly, wondering what horrors his children could be plagued with.
"I...I have no family. How can I be a good father if I don't even know my own?"
Yet...this was the hand that fate had dealt them. There was no way to change it, and Cobalt wasn't entirely sure that he wanted to change it. He was afraid, yes, but...at the same time, he was going to be a father. A sort of pride blossomed in his chest.
"Airlia...We can't change what's happened. Would you want to change it? Because maybe...maybe we could be different. Maybe we could break the cycle of abandonment and bitterness." The shock slowly vanishing from his face, he looked at Airlia, a fond smile on his face. "We could have a happy family, as impossible as it sounds."
When she teared up, he was at her side immediately, pulling her into an embrace. "I don't know what we're going to do. But whatever it is, we'll do it together...Airlia, this is all my fault. I'm sorry...I'm so sorry that you're afraid, and that this has happened to you. I...I'm supposed to protect you, keep you happy...I failed you."
He felt awful. He had only wanted to love her, and now...now she was frightened and upset and he was the one to blame.

Opening her mouth to give him who were ready for foals....well, no one came to mind. Her world was so closed that other than her family, she had no friends. Hell, Cobalt was her first and only friend - her sister would be second, but she hadn't seen her since they were foals. He was afraid too, their fear one in the same and for good reason. Both were good souls, but blood could taint even the most golden of souls.
"That might be for the best, that you don't know. You wont be able to repeat the same mistakes knowingly." She didn't want to be like her family, and when he spoke of breaking the cycle her heart soared for the first time since figuring out she was pregnant. Yet could they really do it? Create a truly happy family with such outstanding odds against them, filled with love.
With that said, did she want to change it? Would she really want to kill these unborn children, THEIR unborn foals? No....she wasn't a killer, and even at this early stage maternal instincts were starting to kick in. Yet what really broke her heart, was the look on his face and sound in his voice. Oh did she want to blame all of this on him, on their loving lust and to release all her anger on him....but she couldn't. She let it happen, and wanted it as much as he...to love and be loved.
"No damnit!" She yelled, "Its not your fault. I know its not its just....hard to get rid of old habits of blame. Its not just you and me anymore, we're an us, and now there is even more of....us." Taking a moment to glance at her belly, she moved her wings admist his embrace and placed her wingtips on his cheeks.
"You haven't failed me yet, and hell...im happier than I ever have been on my own. This is...unexpected, very much so....but it doesn't change how I feel about you.....as long as what you feel about me hasn't changed from this....development."
God, she must be crazy for what she was going to say next.
"I think.....I need to go find...." Gritting her teeth, she tried not to hiss it out....but it was so very hard. "....my mother."

They were an "us?" And even more so than they were before. It was a beautiful thought, one that filled his soul with love. Yes, they were an us. In that moment, some of his fears for the future were put at rest. How could anything stand against them if they faced it together?
His heart soared when she said he had not failed her, but he still felt a twinge of guilt for her uncomfortable condition. At her touch, his eyes softened, filling with tenderness. He wondered if she knew how far she'd come, and how he loved seeing her grow more comfortable with him, seeing her reach out in affection, fearing no rejection or withdrawal from her touch.
"I'll love you forever, Airlia..." He said softly, peering into her eyes. "You don't have to worry about losing my love, not ever." He was smitten, that was for sure. He loved her more than life itself, and would do anything for her...
...even if it meant facing her family.
"I'll go with you, if you'd like." He smiled at her, nervousness filling his heart. From what she had said, her family was rather unique...and he wasn't sure exactly what to expect. Would they blame him for Airlia's condition? He could be viewed as a scoundrel...one who took advantage of an innocent mare. Of course, Airlia wasn't exactly the helpless, innocent damsel in distress, but who was he to suppose they wouldn't feel that way all the same?
"I think...I think it's a good idea, you going to see your mother. She can...she can help, tell you what to expect."
After all, he knew nothing about childbirth. He couldn't help her with this...but he could escort her to someone who could, and make sure that nothing happened to their unborn foals. She was more vulnerable as long as she carried them, and she would need his protection. He had felt protective of her before, but now...now those feelings had intensified tri-fold.

Airlia was growing, evolving, no longer on the same circular path she'd been walking for so long. Even if she didn't fully realize it, she was slowly learning to love and show emotions other than negative ones. There was something about his eyes though that seemed to reflect at just how she was changing. Oddly, she was liking what she was seeing in those mesmerizing blue orbs.
"Even if I do....i'll kill whomever stole it and take it back. Simple as that." A cheeky grin crossed her features and a dark chuckle rose from her throat...something about it let off clearly she wasn't kidding. He was hers, sadly wether he liked it or not now. Not with foals which would hold their joint blood.
However, her mood returned to spiraling down as he mentioned he would come with her to see her mother. It wasn't that she didn't want him to....yet with the way things had gone between them the last time they'd been together, well....she was still confused and hurt over it all.
"I wouldn't hold your breath on that. My Mother is worse than I." Thanks to the hormones she couldn't remember what all she'd said to him about her mother, but as she nodded her head for him to follow her as she began to walk. If her mother was still the same, she'd know where to find her.
"She's definately not all there...infact, she's where I get my own insanity from. Im not sure if I told you...but she was cursed by the gods themself, the angel of dispair. Her life has been exactly that, too." Once he began to walk beside her, she closed the space between them; keeping her body against his own as they strode. Indeed she did feel more vulnerable, and knew it would only get worse the bigger she got.
"From what I know....mother was in love with one of father's sons, before she met my dad. I remember hearing her one night, and that son - Ezriel, ended up getting another mare pregnant. Mom found out and well, nearly killed one of the foals. Thats when my father found her, they were both cursed and cast from heaven...well it seemed they hit it off and mom agreed to have my dad's foals....me and my siblings. I guess seeing us...she was reminded of Ezriel. She ended up running back to him the same time I ran away from her. I haven't seen anyone since...but i've heard things. Apparently, I have half siblings. Lots of them."
Glancing his way, she was curious if he was indeed nervous about meeting her folks. She couldn't blame him...not with a family like hers.
"Basically, she's insane. She might not even remember who I am, let alone she has any kids at all. Like I said....I haven't seen her since I was a foal myself." Even though the scars had healed on her body, some remained fresh in her soul.

"You'll never have to." Cobalt smiled at her, marveling at her possessiveness of him. He was hers forever, eh? He rather liked the idea. He knew she would never have to worry about losing his love. No one could ever captivate him as much as she.
He stepped in beside her as naturally as breathing. They walked side by side, Cobalt listening to her account of her mother's life. A soft smile tugged at his lips when she moved close, her body brushing his. So long as she was vulnerable, he would protect her with his very life.
He was nervous about meeting her mother, anyone would be. He was worried that he wouldn't make a good first impression, or that Airlia's mother wouldn't remember her after so many years...or worse, that the two would get into a fight. Cobalt didn't know what was going to happen, and so he worried for the future.
And the insanity issue greatly concerned him. Airlia had been mostly sane around him...although what he had seen made him wonder about the extent of her mother's insanity. Insanity made one do crazy things... What would he do, if she made to harm Airlia? He couldn't just do nothing. Hopefully...hopefully it wouldn't come to that.
"Even so...I am not afraid to meet her. Nervous...yes. But I would be nervous regardless of what she's like. I'm meeting the mother of the mare bearing my foals." He smiled weakly. "I think I'm supposed to be a little nervous."

"Nervous?" She echoed, sending him a sideways sceptical look. To Airlia it was strange to hear that someone was actually nervous to meet her mother...her father - well she'd be worried if someone wasn't with him but her mom? She may have been crazy yet she wasn't the type to harm anything...even if she seemed to be the exception to that. Yet hearing him speak, she supposed any stallion would be nervous in their position....but mostly they'd be confronted with a angry mother that they weren't exactly mated and having foals. At least they wern't like most couples, with the father leaving the mother alone.
Oh no; Cobalt would be dead if he left her like this alone. Not that he would....but still.
"Don't worry about it, mother will like you more than she ever liked me...probably because you'll intrest her. Strange things....well, seem to catch her taste."
Look at her choice in mates and one would see exactly what she was talking about. However, as they neared a clearing in the forest where a small stream can by, Airlia stopped and looked around. Immediately the hairs on her back rose as a cold chill ran down her spine. This was the place where she was attacked, and she knew her mother still frequented this place from rumors.
"If I still know my mother....she comes around here daily. She has a set route which she takes....don't ask why but she does. If we're lucky...we didn't miss her when she passes through here." Curling her wings around her body as the place was upsetting for her and her memories, the mare looked around and nearly lost her breath when something seemed to approach from the shadows. White....was this her mother?
"M....wait." The mare hissed immediately, her guard rising as her tail lashed out and she took a defensive stance. The mare which came from the shadows was not her mother at all, her wavy red locks a cue from that. Yet she had the same mask as her mother, cold eyes and a tail exactly like her own.
"Who the hell are you...." Airlia hissed and took a step forward, why would she be here in a place where her mother wandered? Was she another of Nimue's....or maybe Reaper's? She couldn't tell, yet did it really matter?

Who were they?
Minuet wondered as she watched them walk into her mother's glade, one of them looked a bit like her mother...yet like her father with that tail of hers. Looking at her own spiked tail, she wondered how she could have such a trait if she was not her sisters.....why hadn't she seen this mare before.
Frowning through her skull mask, she wouldn't let these intruders hurt her mother...she was already fragile enough as is and Minuet had made it her mission to keep her safe. Checking her route daily was a daily task to keep her safe when father wasn't fast enough to keep up or was watching one of her sisters. Well, being the freak between her sisters she didn't mind getting her hooves dirty with trash.
Heading forth out from the shadows, her own tail flicking side to side.
"Who I am is none of your concern, what is though is who are you two and why are you here?" At the defensive stance of the fellow mare, her own tail arched up and her eyes narrowed under the skull mask.
"Tell me, and get out of here before I make you both leave."

Airlia's mother certainly sounded interesting. "I'll try not to worry so much." He said, a grin on his face. After all, if she wasn't worried about it, then perhaps things would go well, without a hitch.
As they entered the clearing, Cobalt sensed a change in emotion in Airlia. Something had happened here that had distressed her...but he wouldn't press for details. He merely moved a little closer to her, offering her the comfort of his touch. He was lost in his own musings when the first flash of white snapped him to attention. Someone was coming...but who?
A scowl twisted Cobalt's features at the arrival of this new mare. Airlia's response indicated that this was definitely not the mare they were looking for. He didn't know who she was, but she certainly looked capable of trouble and nothing would harm Airlia on his watch. "Who we are isn't any of your business either, nor is our purpose here. Our purposes are our own, and not to be shared with a stranger...I can assure you, though, that we mean no harm."
Cobalt's wings rose slightly, his body instinctively sinking into a defensive stance. If things went sour, he would be the one who would fight. Airlia was in no state to exert herself so...the lives of his foals would be at risk.
"We don't want to fight you." But he knew, just as this mare probably did, that he would fight if necessary.

"It is damn well my buisness! You're treading on our lands!" She snapped back, her anger quite similar to Airlia's with the exception hers was much more standoffish, while Airlia's was a deep seeded anger. Tossing back her firey locks, she snorted and stomped her hoof on the ground. Her tail continued to lash through the air, slowly creeping towards the pair to drive them off.
"Just. Leave. Now." Growling deeply in her throat, she snapped her jaws from under her mask. Mother would be around soon and she needed to get these strangers out.
"Watch your mouth you little wretch! You dare speak to us like that and i'll slit your throat!" Airlia hissed right back, rearing to stomp her out of existance untill Cobalt moved infront of her. About to give him a peace of her mind a kick in her swollen abdomen brought her into a harsh reality. She was at that point where life just wasn't about her anymore, what she did had direct concequence on the lives growning inside her. A cold chill ran down her spine as she knew how close enough she was to attacking the mare. This mare could indeed cause her serious injury, and could hurt her foals.
Oh gods....she just risked their lives before they were even born!
Slinking back as her wings furled around her belly protectively, as much as she hated it...she'd have to rely on Cobalt.
"You didn't....." Minuet scowled and allowed her rage to consume her, getting ready to leap at the stallion she was interrupted as another entered the clearing.

Like a ghost the white mare appeared through the treelines, hollow gaze from her skull mask watching the group. Folding her wings almost elegantly against her sides as her raven locks swayed in the breeze, she approached Minuet and stood beside her.
"Minuet...thats enough. Nimue is not pleased with angry minny"
Immediately the brash mare slunk back, huffing irritably but respected her mother's command. Knowing her daughter was a good one, Nimue smiled lightly as she then turned her attention to the pair...it was when she came upon the familliar red and black mare that her heart seemed to stop in her chest.
"Baby....." She gasped, already feeling the tears flow over onto the cold bone of the skull mask. "Little...baby girl....Nimue's baby!"
Moving forward slowly, she was the epitome of dispair as her legs trembled softly, wings reaching out like feathered hands. "Airlia....Nimue sees you have grown so big...." However, as she noticed her baby's wings move....she realized immediately just how 'big' she'd gotten.
"Nimue's baby has babies!?" Further more, her eyes turned to the large blue stallion who'd been ignored untill this point. "Nimue hopes big blue is having the babies too! Big Blue is pretty like Nimue's baby is!" Beaming ear to ear, the mare seemed to remember something else as she turned around to motion to the sulking mare behind her.
"Baby might not know....but this is Minuet....Nimue's other...other...other baby. She has two other sisters too who is Nimue's babies! She means well...."
Airlia blinked, fighting back the torrent of emotions which seemed to consume her mind. She wanted to forgive her mother so bad, to be held and adored and assured that she was loved and would be a great mother. However the memories of that night continued to play in her head, and the fear to be hurt again was far too great a chance.
"Yes...Hello Mother. This would be the babies' father...." Glancing to Cobalt she would let him introduce himself....even though he'd probably never get the priviledge to hear anything but the nickname given to him. Drawing close to Cobalt for comfort, she sighed softly before whispering, "Well....there you go. Thats my mother....Nimue."
