Is it just me or are things becoming increasingly dull in this RP? I have a few reasons as to why that may be, but I would like adequate input from everyone else on why that may be as well.

With my permanent writer's block and little internet access, I'm probably not one of the reasons.

I'd be on more to make it more interesting, but I work two jobs nearly every day, plus, I'm taking online college courses.

'Tis not activity problems. I know others have lives and thus I don't mind inactivity for a few days, even weeks.

It's difficult to make roleplay combat interesting, I know that much. And this new golem is a little more than I can realistically rp fight. If it's red hot, what I am supposed to do to it? I can't make Solace climb it like the others. But I couldn't safely guess what your reasoning is, Dyllye, so without tact I must say let's cut the crap and get to the heart of the matter, eh?

Well, you said you had a few reasons, and so far we've had two possible reasons from others. Throw your lot in, and we can start working on solving this problem all together.

The first of the problems, and probably the largest, is the god level fighting that is in the RP. I don't mean to sound whiny or anything about it, but the rapid progression from 'decent' to 'OMG' in those golems was a bit of a disappointment. I will say that I am no exception since I made a character that honestly, can't die. But, I am a bit turned off at the thought of this RP turning into a "Who can wave around the largest stick". It is slowly turning that way since the only characters that can face such a golem now are Frenzi, Frost, and Deimos. That isn't a good group to focus on team-work. Not to mention this group is being held together by the RPers themselves and not the characters. I may be wrong but only two characters other than the original three would have honestly joined the group if it was in reality. Even that isn't because of a unifying goal that all of them are trying to accomplish. Not a really stable base for a group if you ask me.

In my god-modding experience, god-modding is the only defense. Just try and make the powerplayer bored of what they're doing.
And yes, RP fights can get very... craptastically unbelievable. Hell, my character uses a rifle - and that's why I'd be trying to avoid fighting (lest someone can pull a "Neo" and ruin everything).
As I mentioned to the boss-lady; it's best to try and avoid a linear story and just create a starting point with a few rules as to what creatures inhabit the RP world. Maybe the D&D is talking, here...

Well Dyllye, the way you churned through what we had first presented was a little frustrating. Yes, we get it, your character is freakishly large, strong, and durable. I'm more than capable of playing such a character, but chose Solace because I don't see the fun in being immune to anything and everything (Re: a mace blow to the face). I'm only competing in the 'big stick' contest because Deimos is making everyone else look like a pansy. It's true that our group is varied in level of skill, but who are we to blame here, the people who play powerful characters or the people who play invincible characters? The group is being held together by the RPers because me and kri-pri represented the first group-available plot, and roleplaying by yourself is fun for about three minutes. When other story tracks pop up I'm sure the group will split up. Me and kri-pri aren't central to the plot. I'm sure Gina has some plans for the roleplay, and I wouldn't know them. The unstable base for the group is not Solace's concern, he made his protest in the town and has decided to deal with it. Herr Esdii Kadin, I agree with all three of your points. Well. The first two and most of the third. I like the idea of some sort of rule set for the RP world, for example, I was unaware that guns could be in this RP until I saw your character. I have ignored the concept since, lol, since firearms make Solace obsolete. I do think that RPs need some sort of end goal, though. The only RP I've ever seen 'finish' was one with a well laid out backstory, and the owner had an ending that he knew was going to happen. The only part of the roleplay that wasn't planned was the allegiances of the characters. Mine started off evil and after about three months, was leading the 'good' characters just in time for the finale. It's the responsibility of the RP owner (or people he/she delegates) to gently guide the path of the RPs with influential characters. The idea of a perpetual roleplay is nice, but seems unrealistic to me. It seems much more sucessful to define a goal, get to the goal, and if people still want to play, start a new chapter. I apologize for writing an essay. My main points: 1) Maybe some of the super characters could be a little less super? 2) Maybe someone can start another plotline, so that some people can split from me and kri-pri? 3) Maybe Gina Kansumi could get together with her officers and decide some long term quest that the RP is all about? Rebuilding the empire, overthrowing a tyrant, ending a war, I dunno.

Well said, Azy. (Believe me, I asked on three occasions about the gun to make sure.)
An alternate plotline wouldn't kill anyone, but it all depends on boss-lady's preferences for the outcome. Again, the D&D is probably talkin' here, but the DM gets pissed if you go too far off of the plot they grueled over trying to create for the players.
I think it's time to kill the golem in a reasonable way (no comets or black holes, for the sake of my eyes), head back to town, regroup and such, let me in..., and get back to the real plot. An end point is what we need, and no one here is a deity - cut it out.

There's nothing wrong with D&D talking when it comes to roleplays. It is after all, the original. I agree, side quests can detract from the goal of the 'DM'
I hope Gina can weigh in on this. The plotline me and kri-pri set in effect wasn't talked over with Gina, so it's not like Solace and Frenzi's quest is essential to the roleplay.
If you have any major plans, Gina, don't tell us what they are! Lol. Just let us know if you have them? If not, we can have side quests galore, if there is, then we know to stick fairly close together.

Allow me to clarify a few things. Firstly, Dyllye, you are the reason that godly golum was put into the plot. YOU brought on the "wave the biggest stick" deal. Aurora is a Demi-god, her purpose is to create order, whereas Frost was constructed to create chaos. Notice how she's doing nothing to the golum even though she's trying her very hardest. Now, I don't mind people speaking softly, but carrying big sticks, because that's exactly what your character does... Being brutally honest. It was quite lame watching you barrel through the drone golums like they were paper... Raichii is a 14 foot tall beast, and we have a necromancer that can't touch anything except the relic. Everyone has their flaws and you're the only one, that I can see that wants to impress us. Frost can very easily die. Its not hard at all really. Convence Frenzi that She is of no further use and she melts.
if you, at all disagree then by all means, speak to me directly.

If not, we can have side quests galore, if there is, then we know to stick fairly close together. If we could have more members we could spread out. However, that makes keeping up with each others posts difficult unless properly executed. I was vague on the point of guns because I know Kadin likes them, and I know others might too, however I think it makes things too easy in battle. I know almost everyone of you personally. Kadin, Kri-pri, Vicious, Ruud... I know most everyone we'll regroup at the city indeed, and Frost gets her side story out. If you haven't noticed frost is pretty much useless to the golum but she's trying anyway. XDWe need to pick up a few RPers. I think my BF will be joining ... it will be his first RP so we shall see. magnificent writer... anyway. I'm not telling anything about the plot. I had an rp finish and it was beautiful... and unexpected. So... thats how i'm going to keep this one

It seems that I have been misunderstood on many occasions. Like my claim that Deimos "Can't die" but I don't want to explain such things since it would spoil things, also why Deimos is so big and strong. Either way, I simply intended for him to be pure physical and act something similar to "The hulk" just not as powerful (Or green). Either way, in my defense the little golems were a poor match up and I didn't feel like typing out long and elaborate posts since I am not that interested in this Guild. Also, he was not made for a stick waving individual, but for a story that comes with him. This will be revealed later if I don't get fed up in that time.
Also, I didn't make this thread for a "Hate on anyone" spot but to discuss possible powering down of characters (Mine included) and make this RP based more on team work instead of everyone doing there own thing. It was intended to instill cooperation between the RPers instead of it turning into a spot to treat me like a punching bag. But as it seems that is what this is turning out to be and I am losing the patience to even try.
