Well, after watching the video at www.meetyourmeat.com, I changed my views on animal cruelty. Despite the long talk with my parents, I can't become a vegetarian till I start paying for my own food. Which is a way off, seeing as I am only 12. But it's alright. I've made a promise when I hit 18, Im gonna give up meat, and eggs, and milk. And of course, now Im not going to mess with fur, or leather.

I've been considering this alternative for the past week, actually. I've pretty much decided that not for only one reason, but rather , for a compilation of reasons, I will try a more vegetarian lifestyle. I'm no where near an attempt to become strictly vegetarian or vegan, but I am aware of the ammount of animal cruelty today. That and other personal reasons, like a concern for my health, and the desire to try something construcive, positive. I guess it's a sort of compromise with myself to cut down on all meats, and eventually, once I'm accomodated with this lifestyle, I'll give vegeterianism a stab.

I'm more or less a vegitarian, just because meat doesn't really appeal to me. It was hard to do until I got into college. It's not all that difficult once you buy your own food. There are lots of choices if you just take a good look around your supermarket.

I'm a pesco. I don't eat meat thats raised in a farm, mainly cause of the idea that animals are being raised for the sole rason that they're to become meals. If i were to go out into a forest and catch myself a turkey, then sure, I'd eat it cause it'd have a fair chance for survival, but animals being born and never seeing the sunlight is just wrong.
I started by not eating veal, and giving up pork in a month, then beef, then chicken, and so on. Then over the summer, I said screw it and totally gave up all meat except for fish. So then when I got bak my mom like force fed me steak, and I realised that I wasn't missing anything to special. just eating meat occasionally just tells you that you're not really missing out. If you wanna do it for life, then thats great. if you don't like it, nobodys makin you stay on.

My religion forbids me to kill. Therefore, I am a vegetarian. (I am a Buddhist) One caveat, be careful of watching PETA movies. I can tell you from personal experience that PETA are extremists and their movies are propagandist.
Being a vegetarian is not easy. I have to watch my food intake. I have to make sure I get enough RDA of animal protein, amino acids and iron. I eat milk and egg products so I am not a vegan. I do not eat any kind of meat nor do I eat gellatin as it comes from the hair, teeth, hooves and bones of animals. I only have leather that I had before giving up meat. It reminds me that I was not always as "enlightened" as I am now.
Do your study work and see a doctor and a nutritionist about becoming a vegetarian. You can do it but be healthy and be safe.
Being a vegetarian is a personal choice. When you go out to dinner, tell the waitperson who is serving you that you are a vegetarian and ask about ingredients. Read labels, you would be surprised at what they feed you. Go organic if you can afford it. (I can't) It is better for you. More vitamins and no growth hormones or pesticides. Get information from everywhere. Be smart

Yeah, veggie is expensive. Organic is crazy. The thing that gets me is that the simpler it is to "create" the food, the more expensive it is.
It takes a lot of money to raise a cow: Feed Food Supplements Growth Hormones Stable people Veterinary bills medicine
Veggies: Growth Hormones Farm hands pesticides
Organic meat: Stable hands Hay and grain Veterinary bills medicine (necessary evil)
Organic veggies: Farm hands
I don't get it. rolleyes

Be smart PETA are moderates...if you want extremist then cheack out the Animal Liberation Front (they break into labs liberate the animal and then burn down the facilitys sometimes or comite vandalism to animal abusers property...their philosphy forbids violence though) or Animal Rights Militia (who advocate deadly violence agaisnt hunters and animla abusers liek viviectionists) LONG LIVE ALF and ARM!!! vegitarianism or veganism isnt a personal choice it is an imperative...its not you personal choice to cause sufferign and death for selfish reasons Im a strict vegan and i find it easy as heck, im jobless and homeless so for someone with access to a kitchen and money it should be a breeze

I love dairy too much to give it up though.
