As many African-Americans looked on in tears of joy as it was announced officially that Obama had won the elections, and even as much on the day of his inauguration, something came to my attention. Obama's father was born in Kenya, meaning he is not descendant of any of the slaves. In Africa during the time of the slave trades, tribes that were defeated were held captive and sold to the Europeans who were doing trade in America. That being said, this means that Obama's father is descended from one of the tribes that sold other Africans to the Europeans to trade in America.
Is that why he is looked up to as a winner?

Not quite. The slave trade occured along the west African coast line. As you well know, having looked at a map before you posted, Kenya is in east Africa and has no coastline. Obama isn't like most blacks. He probably has more in common with the grad student intelligensia than he does with your average black guy on the streets. All the same, he superficially resembles them, and to most people that counts for a lot.

On that note, I can still say that a lot of his comrades in the Democratic party had grandparents that were hanging blacks way back during those hard times.

Possibly. For some of them you don't even need to go that far back. Robert Byrd of West Virginia was a Klan member. The point is; so what? The Dems are wrong because their ideas are wrong today, not because their forebears had bad ideas decades ago or even if they themselves might be bad people. Their personal characters and predispositions, it might be noted, do not preclude them being right either.
For example: You have a bus headed towards a collapsed bridge Hitler: "The bridge is out, hit the brakes or we'll crash!" Passenger: "We're not listening to you, you're Hitler. Full speed ahead!"
See how ridiculous it is?
