Armor normaly means the diffrence between life and death, and having the right armor makes a big diffrence. the diffrence between being able to withstand a few rounds and not is a small one... thus the federation has classafied varous grades of armor into 6 tears to help identifie the possible threat level of a target based on how well they will be able to resist and defend themselves.
Suits
Tier 1 Enviormental Suits Tier 1 armor can't even take a hit. Nothing more than form fitting suits of varying function. It takes either a psycho or a poor man to go into battle with nothing but Tier 1. Even basic militia have better armor than this and it's relitively cheep in consideration of the other armors.
Glove: A sleek form fitting and form hugging suit of various materials built to cling to the body so tightly that it's air tight from both the outside and inside. This suit has no advanced functions and merely acts as a flight suit for most.
Tanaka: An intresting design for a Tier 1. The tanaka boasts relitively decent protection, from the enviorment that is. Air tight, water tight, and water proof. An intergrated regulation and internal power system means this suit can handle various enviorments that most wouldn't in their bare skin. It's even adept at handling the pitch black of space. Glow patches on the sholders, wrists, sholderblades, small of back, one across each n****e, along with the knees and waist allow the suit to be it's own source of light. Unfortunately these are always on and removing them compramizes the integrity of the suit not to mention it's functions such as regulatory systems.
Ghuilly: The ghuilly is an awkard suit. Its seemingly baggy appearance masks much of it's functions. Taking its name from garbs of the past that broke up the standard shape of a person's body, this is no acception. The ghuilly comes equiped with advanced regulatory systems, hazardous enviorment upgrades, and can even be worn without threat to the wearer in a zone that was just struck with a nuclear attack. Baggy leggings, and arms help keep this suit true to it's name. However underneath the baggy portians hide the true wonders of the suit, for one, a personal water supply that fits over the entire suit, head to toe. The suit itself appears to be 3 diffrent layers of clothing, however it's only a single layer. An intagrated "cape" or "cloak" seem to give it that alusion, making most think that the target or person is wearing nothing more than several layers of civilian clothing. The tricky thing about this armor, is it's ECM system and it's heat mask abilities. Making it invisible to anything using a HUD or electronics to see them. unfortunately this requires a power pack to function.
Space Pirate Armor: Probably the most inefficient and useless of available armors, but also by far the cheapest. In fact, all that it includes is a simple vest piece and armbands. The only variable thing is the variety of hard points: shoulders, arms, chest, back, and belt. If you want function and cheapness, go with this. If you want to save your skin, an utter waste of money.
Tier 2 Padded Reinforced Armor Tier 2 armor is a bit better at taking a hit than the teir 1, then again that's not saying much. the tier 2 can at least take one or two shots before the user is at much danger unlike the Tier 1 who can't even take a shot before the user's in danger. More expensive than Tier 1 armor, the Tier 2 is also officaly reconized as armor.
Imp Glove: The Imp glove or rather Imperial Glove is from a nation that was obliterated by the Galactic Federation. The foolish nation fought to the death, rejecting offers of peace and went as far to genocide their entire race rather than joining the Federation. While the war is often seen as a taboo, the highly advanced Imp Glove is seen as the height of technology advancement in the war in regards to armor. Seen as nothing more than a glove suit, the similaraties end there. Armor plating inside the chest area and a plate on each upper arm seems to give hope that at least some shots will be blocked or deflected. The plates are interchangeable and replaceable. The Imp Glove draws it's energy from it's wearer, artificaly enhancing their metabolism and feeding off of the excess energy the body produces. Short term this isn't noticeable, but it can effectively drop a 4th off of the user's combat time.
Kriken Evo-Suit: The Kriken have the best basic armor out there; shame that only Kriken can wear it, unless you have extensive surgery and mutations. The Evo-Suit is a set of bioarmor, is lightweight, and very comfortable. Also, it by default comes with filters and defenses against all known hazards. Downside? No hardpoints. Period.
NU Type Padded Enviormental Suit: The NU, used by many police forces around the galexy and outside federation space, offers exceptional coverage for padded armor. An intagrated network of padded reinforced plates covers the wearer's body, hidden under a layer of form fitting padded cloth small, with batteries hidden in small pockets throughout the suit. All the while providing limited regulation systems and radition protection.
Hazard Suit: Enviormental protection at its best, well for the Tier anyway. Advanced radiation protection, pressure regulation as well as tempiture regulation systems, as well as extreamly thick impact padding. The simple manner of it being able to take a hit a few times is thanks to this very padding.
Shadow Armor: Developed for the Space Pirates' Shadow Trooper, this armor is pretty bare bones when it comes to defensives save for one brilliant feature: cloaking. Though it gives off tremendous heat and stands out quite easily with a decent Thermal Visor, this armor makes its wearer otherwise invisible to anyone else. The problem is that the armor requires a tremendous amount of power, so they only option is to use melee weapons, or weapons with their own private powersource.
Tier 3 Plated Armor thicker armor than the simple padded, this armor isn't exactaly grated for extreme enviorments or space travel, but it is however grated for combat. able to take a slew of small arms fire before it's armor plates crack and give way.
Shining Knight; Almost resembling a form of ceramonial armor, the shining knight encompases the user in a full shell of plated metal.Tthe reason it's called the Shining Knight, is due to glow rods intagrated into the joints of the suit to provide light. It's not air tight and doesn't do too well in water.
Ray Suit; A skin tight suit with exposed wires and mirrors, however the suit constantly produces dozens of small energy shields all across the body. The energy shields provide avid protection against attacks and still allow the user a wide range of movement. However it's bulky energy generators are difficult and make the suit rather heavy. In water, it tends to short out, rendering the suit all but useless untill it dries off
Juggernaut 1; A suit of armor so heavy it's nearly concidered a power armor or a form of exoskeliton. The diffrence is it relies on the user's own strength to move it. The suit is comprised of inch thick armor shells that fit around joints, limbs, and everything else.
Galactic Federation EOD Suit: For the Explosive Ordinance and Detonation Unit, it's fairly bulky despite it's tier, and made to withstand explosions with ease. It cannot however, take much punishment from other ranged weapons or melee weapons. It's colored a dark brown and yellow.
Beam Trooper Armor: Made by the Space Pirates and reverse-engineered from data on Samus Aran's Power Suit, Beam Armor is fairly durable, form-fitting, and specialized. The armor has only two weaknesses: concussive weaponry and the corresponding beam. For instance, Power Troopers' main vulnerability is the Power Beam, while Ice Troopers fear the Ice Beam, etc. Otherwise, it's fairly frail. The sole armament are built-in scythes on the right arm, and a Power Beam cannon on the left.
Tier 4 Power Armor Able to survive the vacume of space, and the submersion in water. Radiation heat and cold however are a different manner entirely. Power armor also boosts the streingth of the user considerably. however it's extremely expensive. Federation Marine Suits are in this Tier.
Kriken Imperial Suit: The Kriken Empire doesn't make much when it comes to armor, but without a doubt, what they do make is high quality. A bioarmor made from an unknown material, each suit is made to exacftly fit it's wearer, and provides the best in hazard protection. The suit is also better defended, able of taking more hits than the Evo-suit, though it is still the weakest of the various Power Armor. Also, it has some improvement in that it now features two hardpoints, one on each arm. Downside? Being highly specialized, it takes a while to make these armors, plus it's fairly weak and expensive, considering what you get.
Neo Ray Nu: Oddly enough of space pirate origin. Combining both technologies from the Ray and Nu armors. A full suit covers the body covered in hard armored plates and cloth concealing them. The systems of the Ray armor intaergrated into every fiber of the suit and it doesn't actualy short out in water thanks to the Nu systems. The suit is protected by hundreds of energy shields that switch frequencies.
Cival Police Armor: The CPA is the standard equipment for any police force in the current world. Gifting its user with decent protection and commanding the respect of many due to it's offical look. Two clear domes rest on the user's sholders concealing flood lights. The flood lights often switch colors rappidly between red, white and blue. The lights are also known to spin around full 360.
Standard Issue Federation Marine Suit: The Armor of the Marines is always changing. During the Aether incident, the armor was classified as Borderline Tier 4, but now it's almost borderline five due to additions of new races to the Federation. Different Versions for Different Races, the Federation Marine Suit is durable yet light weight, and made of energized steel and a titanium alloy. While movement is barely limited, it should be noted that the Marines' suits come in different varieties in different tiers. The suit increases the wearer's strength a fair amount, and just wearing it gets one the respect of the people and the hatred of the enemy. Suits can be equipped with a wide amount of gear though not much at the same time, such as jet packs, ammo packs, or the now useless PED Units. Sleek in design, it's colored a silver, with blue tinting in the visor and in some other places.
Jet/Aqua Trooper Armor: Yet another Space Pirate creation, Jet Armor is a combination of Jetpack and Power Armor. Fairly strong defenses, along with a multitude of hardpoints for weaponry. By default, it is armed with two missile launchers and a laser cannon.
Commando Armor: Developed by the Space Pirates for one sole purpose: to hunt the Hunter. These armors are the best available to Space Pirate forces short of undergoing extreme mutation for the Elite and Berserker Armors. It is armed with variants hardpoints and includes an armcannon much like Samus Arans. The only notable downside is a lack of an alt-form and the mass-produced quality of it.
Tier 5 Assault Power Armor power armor with combat in mind. make that sustained combat. normally equipped in themselves with light weapons. more expensive than power armor by a good margin. It should be noted that Samus' Power suit is at this Tier.
Juggernaut 2: Nearly concidered war armor due to it's bulk. Equipped with sholder mounted missile launchers, this suit is made souly for ramming into things with the suit's bulk. Assist thrusters are mounted all throughout the body to help get running speed to it's max quickly. It's known to be able to plow through blast doors just by running through them.
Elite Trooper Armor: Based on the armor of the Elite Pirates. Technically, it's more of an oversized mech-suit, requiring certain amounts of genetic mutations. The armor itself is made of benzendium and corundrum, so it can take a fair amount of punishment. Armanent includes shoulder hardpoints for a laser cannon and missile launch, and energy siphons and quake generators located in the hands. The downside? Once on, it can't be removed without extensive surgery.
Berserker Knight Armor: Special, melee-driven armor built for the Berserker Knights. Simply wearing it takes extensive mutations and genetic tampering. It's otherwise just as strong as Elite Trooper Armor. The only armaments are a series of claws on either ends, along with the bulk of the creature itself.
Power Suit: Samus Power Suit is the only true kind in the world that is purely of Chozo Origin. Only wearable by the hunter herself due to it being made mostly of Chozo Biometal, the Power Suit is borderline Tier 6 due to it's strength to bestow on it's wearer in both lifting ability and durability and it's ability to 'absorb' technology from races that aren't even in the Federation, making Samus a force to be reckoned with. Can also traverse with ease in water and can survive being in low gravity places and in open space.
Tier 6 War Armor You have power armor, you have assault power armor, and then you have the war armor. Moving weapons platforms is more like it. Equipped with moderate weapons from the git go, these massively expensive suits of armor cost a pretty penny and tend to be somewhat hard to find, build, or even construct. Though when one does show up on the battlefield, a commander is known to call in a air strike... simply not wanting to take the chance. Mechs, for all purposes.
Phaezon Elite Armor: Named after the original Phaezon Elites, the new armor actually lack the key ingrediant: Phaezon. The armor itself is bigger and more durable, thus its wearer must be even larger to use it. It also lacks hardpoints, and is only capalble ot the energy siphon and ground quakes.
Berserker Lord Armor: Armor worn by Bersekers with even more extensive mutations, making them little more than war beasts. The armor itself is powered by a micro-fusion reactor, providing the radiation and power needed for the suit, but also a liability. It's armaments are only melee, but even still, it's mass and strength alone is enough to crush even Powered Assault Armor.
