Arin's pod touched down in the middle of a stony desert, the door opening with a hiss. Placing one hand on the wall of her pod, and then her left hand on the other side of the doorway, a woman climbed out, wearing a suit of black and purple armor, with a purple scouter over her eye. her black hair ran in a straight bob parallel to her jawline. Her black eyes scanned the horizon. Looking further down, she had a black tail wrapped securely around her waist. The woman who would be ruler of all the Universe had arrived. And she was going to recruit some talent. She took a few steps away from her pod, noticing how light she felt. The pod instantly shot off toward the horizon, finding a safe place to hide itself. She took a deep breath of the light air here, and looked at the empty, barren land around her, outcroppings of rock everywhere. Perfect She needed to train, and here was as good a place as any.

Arin decided that she'd try this without powering up to start with. Besides, there was no reason to alert the entire planet to her arrival. She watched her hand as she formed a black ball of purple energy, and watched as it spread over her hand, enveloping her forearm in flames. She pointed her fingers at a nearby stone. A gargantuan thing, which looked like it was a tree bent over to touch the ground again. She tried to push the energy with enough force to shoot towards it and to destroy the stone.

Arin watched as the energy dissipated halfway to the stone. She sighed softly. This could prove to be more difficult than learning to use her ki at all. Focusing her energy again, she forced it into a sphere, and forced it instead down to her fore and middle fingers, as had worked on Nexum. She sighed softly. She needed to do this. She needed to be able to do this. In fact, she probably shouldn't have left Nexum without this skill. She might just go back, to train. She built the energy further, hoping to get it this time.

Once again, the energy dissipated before reaching the stone. Arin sighed. She was too tired to keep going with powering up, so she decided to power up just enough to still stay under the radar. The fact that she had to power up at all was irritating. But it was unavoidable. She bent down and dug her feet in, pulling her ki from within to the surface. And it came at her call. She was going to draw exactly how much she would need. No more, no less.

Description of Jutsu: This technique is the ability to bring the vast stores of ki that are held in your body's reserves to the surface (and often, beyond the surface, resulting in an aura of ki around the user.)

This was becoming too easy. Arin had to tone it down, otherwise she'd start breaking things. As it was, she saw the earth splitting beneath her feet, the sand blowing away from her as the faintest of purple auras surrounded her. She sighed softly, calming her breathing to bring her rate of charging down. She only needed a little bit more to fire off three shots. And she was hoping three shots would be enough. if not, she would need to power up even more, and that would mean she would spike on the radar again. Anyone with a scouter would know she was here. She didn't need whatever creatures that live on this planet to know she was here as well.

Arin worked her power to a reasonable level and stopped right there. No sudden explosion of power, no blasting of her aura. Just enough to get her by for now. And this, she hoped, would be just enough. She lowered her hands, sighing. She so desperately wanted to just blow her power off the scale. She wanted to announce her arrival to the whole planet... But she couldn't. She needed to be in control of herself until she could take care of herself. And so she would. She sighed, preparing herself mentally to get back into the grind of training.

Arin closed her eyes and focused her energy into her right hand this time, pouring it down her arm and to her fingers. The purple dark began to build up on her fingers, and she tried to force it to behave this time around. Her fingers were completely covered in energy, and she pushed it down further, compacting it to a small ball at the tip of her fingers. She pushed it even farther, so that the point of energy was focused just past the tips of her fingers. She hoped this would work. It was remarkable that it had worked this far.

She had thought too soon... The blast fired from her fingers prematurely, and hit the ground leaving hardly a dent in the sand. Aww, come on! It's sand! Couldn't you at least have appealed to my ego some? Jeez. She pointed her fingers at the rock and closed her eyes for a repeat performance. The energy focused its way down her arm and to her fingertips, focusing itself now on the very point of her fingers, instead of forming off of them. She opened her eyes and hoped for the best she could get.

And the stone came a-tumblin' down. A hole five inches wide was blasted in the stone. Which was impressive because the beam had only been as thick as a needle. The stone was not quite able to deal with a smaller hole being bored through it by a super-heated laser. It split down the middle and fell to the ground in pieces. Arin leaped thirty feet in the air, glad that no one could see her. YES! Ok. One more time. I think I've got it. Her energy was completely restored. She had been growing hopeless. And now, she had a reason to look forward to her training. She pointed her fingers at a new rock, even farther away, and poured her energy into that magic spot. Or at least it felt like the magic spot. It condensed down to a pinprick, and she hoped it would be enough.

Once again, She was out of energy and her blast had failed. She was at least positive this time. She pushed her energy as fast as she could, hoping to just get this over with. Her energy began filling her quickly, and she knew that it wouldn't be too much as soon as she began powering up. She pushed herself faster, hoping to stock up and get shooting. She was running dry, though. She would need to finish this quickly, otherwise she was just going to have to revisit the subject later.

Arin pushed herself onward, milking every last ounce of energy from herself, knowing that she would have exactly enough for two shots. She finished charging and noticed that she didn't even have an aura. Reaching under her armor, she pressed the call button on her remote. She had a feeling she would be pretty tired after this. And she had a feeling that she would get this done before then. Hopefully this feeling would be justified, and she could eat and go to sleep knowing that she will be able to rely on this technique when the time came.

Looking at her right hand, the saiyan built her black-and-purple flames on her arm, pushing them down to a concentrated ball of power. It rested on her fingertips and she pointed them at their new target. the darkness was almost blinding, but she liked it. It had a certain sense of foreboding that a bright color just wouldn't have. It seemed to scream death while everything else whispered it. A bright yellow light was just too cheery to be a weapon. And hey, it matched her armor. She grinned. And then it was done. She blasted the new stone to pieces. A black and purple beam shot itself forward and seemed to do nothing at first. And then the stone just split into pieces. She began laughing and sighed with relaxed pleasure.

Her pod hit the sand again. With a hiss that was growing familiar to her, the door dropped open. She stepped forward and climbed inside, the door hissing closed in front of her as she settled into her padded seat. "What is your destination, Queen Arin?" "I need to find a forest.. Be sure to stay under the radar. I need to hunt." "Of course, milady." And it took off at a reasonable speed, setting down gently through the canopy of trees so that they couldn't be seen from above. The forest had a cliff overlooking one side, that must have showed the whole forest. And on the other side, as if it had been planned, was a broad river that terminated the forest and revealed grassland over on the other side. It was surprising... On Nexum everything seemed much... Broader... Oh, well. Her pods door opened, and she climbed out with a muttered 'thank you' to the pod. It was the only thing she had talked to in years. She laughed at that.

Arin stalked the woods, using her scouter to pick out a suitable meal. 670? Her head turned. 670 was a pretty high power level. Something you wouldn't expect in a forest like this one. Well, it could be food. And she diverted her course, heading towards the new power level. She soon came upon a tiger larger than the ones she was used to. It was almost past her chest at the shoulder. And it didn't look too happy to see her scaring off the deer it had been stalking. It turned on Arin, and leaped down to prowl around her. Arin acted first, raising her finger and using her freshest technique. The dark flame seemed to perplex the tiger. The tiger tried to move when it sensed the beam was about to hit it. But it couldn't. The beam burned a hole through the animal much smaller than it should have been: only two inches wide, through the tiger's exposed chest, probably piercing a lung on its passage, and definitely burning through two ribs. It pierced into the ground behind the animal, traveling several feet into the ground. A furious roar ripped through the trees, and the tiger glared fiercely at the saiyan.
