Being a gym leader is hard work, and with so many people challenging them for badges, more often then not they're gonna get pooped. So to help out with the strain, gym leader assistants are called in to help lighten the load for those hard working gym leaders.

Any trainer is able to become a gym leader assistant, but there will be strict rules for them in place to make sure they don't overstep their boundries.

First and formost, you must have a pokemon to be a gym leader. Even though you wont be using your own pokemon, we need to know applicants have experience in battling with pokemon.

You must be able to type up a reasonable rp response. I know that a pokemon battle can get repetitive so I don't need to have something thats 3 paragraphs long. Just as long as it doesn't resemble chatspeak.

Once you have been accepted as a gym leader assistant, then you can set up a thread in this sub-form and accept challenges for that particular gym. It will be up to you how many challenges you take on and when you open/close.

Wait, so I don't get to fight using my own Pokémon?
Nope, because it would be very weird to have the cerulean city gym, who specialises in water type Pokémon, have a gym leader assistant who specialises in fire type Pokémon.

How does the gym Pokémon thing work? What’s the point of it?
Each gym has special areas that house Pokémon that are the same type. The Pokémon in there have been specially trained by the gym leaders to take commands from the assistants, so that when a person comes around wanting to challenge the gym, they will get the full experience.

So, when I'm using the gym's Pokémon, are they technically my Pokémon?
No, the Pokémon are owned by the gym, and cannot be used anywhere but the gym. They are basically like NPC's that are allowed to be used by other people.

If I become a gym leader assistant, can I still get a gym badge?
Of course. If you go through at least 3 Pokémon gym battles with other users, then you will get a gym badge and have the option of quitting, moving to another gym or staying there. It doesn't matter if you win or lose either.

Can there be multiple assistants for one gym?
Yes!

Can I reuse my thread for other gyms?
Yep.

Gym Badge boosts

Pewter City Gym badge - Gives 5+ Defence to all trainers pokemon. (a.k.a when you are attacked you take -10 damage)

Cerulean City Gym badge - Gives 20+ HP to all trainers pokemon.

Vermilion City Gym - Paralysis Stat lasts for 3 extra turns

Celadon City Gym - Sleep Stat lasts for 3 extra turns

Saffron City Gym - 5+ Damage

Fuchsia City Gym - Poision Stat lasts for 3 extra turns

Cinnabar Island Gym - 10+ Damage

Viridian City Gym - 10+ Defense

It was a bit of a spur of a thought idea for him, but Blade figured it'd be an adequate if not interesting challenge. There were a number of risks involved with it, but that only made things better in his opinion. It would just mean that he'd need to be careful. The consequences wouldn't be as bad if he were to try this with Team Rocket or the other big Pokemon gang organizations, but they were still there.

So he went into the Cinnabar gym to apply. The basic plan was to get in so he could get a good feel to where everything was. Then, once he had a good sense of the layout and the scheduling of the place, he'd make the move. He wasn't planning on taking a whole lot; it was more for the challenge than for the money that he wanted to do this anyway.

Sample of Roleplay: Professor gum Had word that there was a lack of Gym leader assistants, and they needed some extra people that could help out. So, he sent over his assistant. When asked if she was qualified enough to be an assistant, He said that poke had alot of experience with handeling different kinds of pokemon, so she would be fit for the job.
