The violet and pink female streaked between the trees, a blur of moving paws. She wasn't technically breaking any rules. Rend and Para were taking care of the babies. She just needed to get away.
With a leap, she skidded out of Agua Azul territory. She paused and looked over her shoulder, blue eyes trained on the land. She wouldn't be gone long... Twist would hardly know.
And with that, she sped into movement once again. Her body was crouched low to the ground, her tail tucked and her ears flat, swiveling, listening. It had been...so long...since she was without the protection of Twist's pack. It wasn't good for her to be in that safety all the time. Not for her. Not for a pup killer.
With a whine, she plodded on.

 Skirting the edge of marked territory, Kaz danced along, his paws light as he trotted. He’d of whistled if he knew how, but as it was he simply enjoyed the bird song and the rhythm of his own movement. It wasn’t long before he heard a rustling. Quieting to a slow walk, he kept his ears perked, listening to it drawing nearer. Within a few moments there was a break in the foliage and a form plodded through. He stopped, ears flicking and unsure what to do. She was marked loudly, with vibrant colors of the like he’d never seen.
“Hello?”
He offered questioningly. Not sure if she’d noticed him.

Bipolar's head jerked up, ears pinning as a snarl rose on her muzzle. Her tail tucked tighter under her body and she was torn between backing away and lunging forth to go after the stranger.
She decided to bide her time and wait, standing opposite the silver and black male on braced paws. Icy eyes looked him up and down, as if studying him.
"Who're you?" she barked out, uncertain.

Well, apparently she hadn’t, and now that she had he wondered if it was such a good idea to get her attention in the first place. She wasn’t dominant, but a scared anything would still bite. Which would hurt, possibly a lot, and that wasn’t something he wanted on his list for today. Not wanting to approach and further push her, nor back up and possibly trigger her attack, he instead opted to sit slowly right where he was.
“My name is Kazim.”
He said clearly, no hint of emotion in his tone. He’d have to wait for her reaction before doing anything else. It was always best procedure to be slow and steady with something or someone scared.

She watched him for a long time, her body tense, waiting for him to make the first move. He stared at her, then slowly eased into a sit. Her ears pricked up and her head rose an inch, muzzle tilting to one side. So...he wasn't going to attack?
She let out a soft sigh of relief. He probably didn't even know she was from a pack. To him, she was a loner as well. Assuming he was a loner, by the look of him. She tasted the air. He didn't smell of other wolves, either. So loner was probably true...
"I am Bipolar." Her words were chosen carefully, but the snarl had disappeared to be replaced with a slightly sheepish smile. "Are you from around here?"

An inner sigh sounded at her change in attitude. Well, at least this wouldn’t end in bloodshed; yet, at any rate. He permitted a slight smile, laughing at the private thought and trying to seem more disarming. He wrapped his tail against him, dusting the earth slightly as he did, while he focused on her. Now that she wasn’t staring with her teeth bared, he could get a good look at her. He’d certainly seen a lot in his travels, but he couldn’t remember coming across one that looked quite like her. She was like a sunset on water. With markings that made him think of something he’d seen on rocks once.
Her posture made him worry though. It made him think of an Omega, or something beaten. He could tell she was reading up on him as well. Whatever she found must’ve passed her examination, because she then offered her name with something a little more welcoming.
“I’m afraid not. I like my wanderings and discoveries. Yourself?”
He asked gently, with a smile that finally reached his eyes.

Bipolar eased into a sit, her own tail curling around her paws. She lifted a foot, then put it back down, forcing herself to relax. She took a deep breath, feeling the earth underneath her, as Kato had shown her not very long ago. It was strange how someone so grounded could become a basketcase with three young ones to worry about.
But they were safe. All three of them. Paranoia wouldn't let anything happen to them. He was her mate, afterall, and Rend! Dear Rend, a lovely pupsitter with one of the purest of minds. She took another breath, dug her claws into the earth, then smiled, her blue eyes glittering.
So this stranger wasn't from around here. "I'm a pack wolf." It sounded strange to say. "Well. I mean, I'm in a pack. With my mate. And my babies. For now." But there was unease in the packs and a wolf such as herself would be ready to flee at any given moment. "You're probably smarter," she admitted, "to have the lone life. You aren't attached to anyone or anything that way."

His ears flickered as she spoke, noting to read between the lines.
“Pups eh? Was it them you were running from?”
He added jokingly, having seen what some of those little terrors were like. It had crossed his mind once or twice to settle down, but could he give up seeing the sunrise in a new place every morning? He didn’t think so.
“Well, I don’t know about smarter. I remember what it’s like to live in a pack.”
He looked wayward, remembering something from a past life it felt like. Shaking his head abruptly, his ears wagging back and forth with the gesture, Kaz cleared his head before turning to her once more. No sense thinking on the past.
“To each their own I suppose.”

Her? Running away from her pups?! She flattened her ears with a soft huff, looking past him. "I wouldn't leave them, ever," she said, lifting a paw and pointing it at him to prove her point. The paw hit the ground hard. She would never leave them, not when they needed her...her babies... They wouldn't suffer the same fate Panic endured...
Bipolar shook her head fiercely to rid herself of the memory of her fallen child. Her lips twitched and she forced her attention back on the male.
"Perhaps," she agreed. "Perhaps it depends on the wolf. To live in a pack, or to live on your own. I don't...prefer...the pack I'm in," she said softly, choosing her words carefully. "Because of the structure. But I will remain there, at least until the puppies are old enough to go on their own."

Ah, too friendly too soon. He paused in thought for a moment, not really sure how to recover from a slip like that, but glad that she didn’t bolt or something similar. It was obvious that her family was something of a sore spot, even if her confidence in her pack seemed lacking. Interesting.
“I meant no ill, I’ve simply seen how hard raising a litter can be, and that anyone would need a break now and then from that. I commend you for your dedication to them though, even to the point of sacrificing so that they may grow up in a pack. They are lucky indeed. ”
He bowed his head slightly, adding gravity to what he said and showing he meant it. Hopefully it would be enough to satisfy her and soothe the exposed hurt, though he wasn’t sure what caused it. He was having a little fun, if he were to be completely honest with himself, deciphering her and wondering at her past.
