The large black male sighed as he walked the small savannah. He was alone; he left that blind female awhile back on a parting and now he was quietly taking in the sounds of the hyenas and others. The male shook his head and a soft growl came from him.
"Get ahold of yourself, Ni..." He whispered quietly to himself. He didn't doubt if anyone saw him speaking to himself they would surely think him crazy but he wasn't. He was having a moment in which his mind was digging up past memories that were best left uncovered.
A image of his father passed in his mind and the male couldn't helo but let out a whimper. To be where he was and what he was that was a low thing but he couldn't help it. He was alone and his childhood nightmares kept creeping up. The betrayal....The pain...Hate....
He let out a roar that echoed though the small land and his hackles were rasied as he peered around. He sighed deeply and closed his eyes trying to find his center; his calm place and when he did, he just kept on walking. Where was he going? No where in particular. Just looking for company or a small meal but it being night and the hyena's were out he would have to wait till the sun rose or the next night.
His red mane shook as a few bugs landed on it just to annoy him but he didn't let that get to him at all. He was too busy thinking; Why did the female just up and leave? He had done nothing wrong. Maybe he would run into her one day or another but at the moment he was just alittle annoyed. He snorted lightly before moving on at a calm pace.

 Her meal had been stolen by a hyena. The small antelope calf she had worked so hard to track and catch had given her a mouthful of meat before she was mobbed by a pack of the canine-like creatures. She'd got away with a lovely scrape on her houlder from trying to butt her way back in, but really she was lucky. Once before had another lion been mobbed and that lion hadn't been able to escape their ravenous jaws.
The memory caused her to shudder, but not as much as the roar that suddenly ripped through the lands. She felt a twinge a fear, but as she listened closer...there was pain.
Without another thought she headed towards the source, wondering if someone was hurt. Sure, her shoulder was hurting at the moment, but she wasn't one to put herself before others. She would endure.

Nehimiah picked up his pace as he spotted a tree nearby. At least he could get some rest from walking so long and hard without hesitation. The ground was dried and cracked with longing of rain to quench it's thirst and a glance to the sky made him sure that it's request was going to be answered soon.
He sat under the shade of the tree and looked around, his shoulders slouched with the recent events. Something caught his eye that he hadn't expected and his head tilted to the side with curosity. It was a female. He could tell from the way she moved but he couldn't be too sure it wasn't just a small male teen. But as it neared, he noticed it was definatily a she. As soon as she was in earshot he decided to speak.
"Are you lost ma'am?" His voice rose up and he looked at her with pure curousity and nothing more. He had barely seen anyone in the area and to see a female at this time was a surprise.
