Welcome to the Resources and Links thread!

The Recources and Links thread is divided into two sections; resources, and links! The Resources portion provides members with a list of websites, books, movies, and other media for violinists and violists. Links to members'' web pages, art galleries, and other such things will be posted in the Links section.

Would you like to submit/suggest a link or resource?
Post a link and breif description to a link or resource you would like to be listed on the Resources and Links thread.

Websites

There are tons of websites out there for musicians. If anyone has any useful ones, post them here! I'll keep a list updated in the first post for them.

Blank Sheet music

DrDrowning Music is a store... but it seems cool.

Free sheet music; mostly fiddle tunes This site is technically not for violins or other stringed instruments, but it's got some cool little pieces if you want a quick tune to play for a friend or someone.

Finale Notepad 2005.
It is a composition program. It took me a while to understand how to use everything on there, so if any of you use it and have any questions about it just PM TarienQuest or Kalile Alako, or send an IM.

Sharmusic
Great site if you need to order anything violin (well...almost everything. They''re missing a few things, (such as the Butterfly Lover''s violin concerto...) but oh well.

Thinkquest Violin I'm not sure how good a site this is, but if anyone is doing a report or something it might be helpful...

The Violin Man is good for violin things

Violin Master Classes I haven't fully explored it yet, but from what I've seen so far it's great. Lots of helpful tips that I totally agree with, even if he does have a moustache.

Violin Online It's a good room for beginners and people who just want to practice and stuff. ^_^

Books
Learn to Fiddle by JayDean Ludiker: It is really spiffy because it has sheetmusic and tabs, and it explains how to read tabs at the front of the book. It has 42 songs... or something like that, and it also comes with a CD with all the songs on it.

I'm suggesting a fiddling book! ^^

Learn to Fiddle by JayDean Ludiker. (My teacher!)

It really spiffy because it has sheetmusic and tabs, and it explains how to read tabs at the front of the book. It has 42 songs... or something like that, and it also comes with a CD with all the songs on it. It is the book I am currently learning from. ^_^
